I made these today for Christmas and of course I had to try one. Oh my they are delicious, and I found at the end if they get too stiff add about another tablespoon of butter set it back on low heat and stir it will bring it all back together. So awesome thank you for sharing Merry Christmas
I grew up in Louisiana and now live in New Mexico. I tried your recipe today and loved them. Just like my mother used to make. I'm going to keep this one and make them for gifts, too. Signed, a new sub.
my pawpaw used to make pralines (our family is from south Louisiana) he's been gone for 10 years now and I'm trying to learn how to make them to carry on the tradition.
I used make these all the time with my grandmother but we always used evaporated milk I never thought to use half and half I must try that thanks for sharing God bless take care xo xo.
Delicious! My Grandfather had honey bee hives. My Grandmother made these for sale adding honey, a local market favorite. You have to watch the heat 'closely' so you don't burn the candy mixture. Thank you for bringing back childhood memories.
Girrrrrl, my mouth is watering. I've tried these a couple of times years ago but couldn't get the texture right. They're sooooo good when they're right. Yours look gorgeous.
I've watched 5 of these vids. in preparation of making them,i think salted butter makes sense. Cut some of that sugar a bit, this is the 1st w/cinnamon. Not sure how i feel about that, but half&half for extra creaminess. Hotdamn thats a winner, cant wait to make them. She made them the quickest&most simple.
ughhh thanks for commenting about the altitude. I screwed up several batches that wouldn't get hard but I used to make these in Texas now I am in California.
Yes yes yes I remember my grandma cousin use to send some out here to Cali from Louisiana. I haven't had none since early 90's well I did have some a few years back, but they didn't taste like the ones my grandma cousin use to make.
I made this recipe and another one, trying to find a recipe that will work with apples. Your recipe was so much more delicious than the other!!!. I am going to try it again but not cook it the extra 5 min, hopefully that will work with the apples.
I love being from Nawlinz, especially watching folks attempt to make certain things from the 504…it’s a reason you suppose to use condensed milk, almond extract and vanilla extract at certain times while it’s cooking. But who am I to judge, if you gonna do it, do it correctly without butter 🤦🏾♂️
Any suggestions for making these where it is humid? I made them all the time in California and they came out great, but here in Houston they never harden they just stay chewy.
Nice video. I'll give ya' 4 stars but I'd give 5 stars if you could post the recipe in the video details. (I'm lazy about going to another site!) :D Thanks for the detail - really helps me know how things will look so I'll know if I'm doing it right when I try it!!

Reminds me of my mother's candy!!! TFS
+ladygummibear thanks for watching!
And altitude can affect the candy setting so if you are in a higher altitude they may stay sticky and not harden just fyi
ughhh thanks for commenting about the altitude. I screwed up several batches that wouldn't get hard but I used to make these in Texas now I am in California.
I live on a mountain thanks for the info.

Love your recipes, thank you so much for sharing, made them today, so good!
Best wishes from Texas
I Love ❤️ LOVE your recipes! You go Girl!!
These came out GREAT! Be sure not to stir TOO long at the end or they will lose their viscosity and turn into a sugary, crumbly mess.
Nice and simple! Love it.

My family use to make these, and Peanut butter candy in Louisiana and sell them for $1 to the neighborhood lol
Any suggestions for making these where it is humid? I made them all the time in California and they came out great, but here in Houston they never harden they just stay chewy.

How much butter?
Hi Rosie, can you do a lobster pasta?? Thanks if you do
Hi there! I have a lobster macaroni and cheese recipe uploaded :-)
I use unsalted butter. I tried with salted butter butter but I didn't care for it
Jenee Jones same. It over loaded the flavor. Its better to put a pinch of your own salt.
Good night find your prelim candy recipe
I mean delicious
Thanks!
+I Heart Recipes how does it taste
Can you please list the measurements on here since your link won't show them anymore for whatever reason.

Mine always come out like caramel.
what's pralines? never heard of it
pralines are a pecan candy made from caramelized sugar it is traditionally a southern thing invented by the French / Creole.
Pecan candy we eat it in the south
Made these. They never hardened 😑. Maybe encourage your followers to use a candy thermometer
You are not telling the amounts!
Head on over to my blog to get the full recipe. Hope you enjoy it.
Nice video. I'll give ya' 4 stars but I'd give 5 stars if you could post the recipe in the video details. (I'm lazy about going to another site!) :D
Thanks for the detail - really helps me know how things will look so I'll know if I'm doing it right when I try it!!
I use margarine for it. It turns out delicious. So no you don't need to use real butter people like this person says!!
They always end up so watery for us😒
