Status report. About 250 miles on the Barkers in the last 2 days. And it’s badass. Sounds killer. And definitely improved performance. Highly recommend.
That looks like a beautifully crafted piece of kit enhances your bike no end and sounds great too. Looking forward to the "first ride" vid see if you can feel any benefits.
Excellent video! Thank you for taking the time to compare the head pipe diameters. Numbers don't lie! You may not notice a huge difference in power now but you have positioned yourself for any future power upgrades!
To avoid that type of cracking every once in a while, it is good to loosen the exhaust bolts header back and then tight them back up starting from the header to the muffler. This can happen to any exhaust. Hyoed to see some more drz content dude. Made me want to go for a ride.
I talked to Dave (the owner at Barkers) and he suggested I do a 1x3 instead of a 3x3. I was hoping to get your opinion on this because you’re who I look to for advice for my ‘24 Drz400sm and I don’t have any friends 🤷♂️ I ordered a black pipe with blue label and blue tip. Thanks for your videos!! This video convinced me to go Barkers instead of anything else. I’ll make it my profile pic after the pipe gets put on next month. I got a jet kit and a k&n filter as well. Thanks again for all of the time and attention to detail you put in your awesome videos!
Thanks man! Well I’m sure he knows his stuff! Ha. A 1x3 would essentially be just removing the snorkel. That near the size of the opening with no cutting. SoCal Supermoto sets his bikes up this way also. You could start there. Kind of hard to put material back once you remove it. You could start with the snorkel removed. And if you need more air, open it up. 💪🏼
@@linksgarage1985 always! I have 110 miles on it. Should I wait till 500+ miles to do the mods? I’ve read conflicting opinions. I have been thinking about changing out the exhaust in my DRZ400s, but I would only do it for performance improvements and fitment with my skid plates/radiator guards as I spend 90% of my time off road on trails. So I wonder if that Barkers header would fit under my protection?
I just got mine installed today but for some reason my pipe is Leaning on the subframe just enough where overtime it might rub into it. Are you having any issues with this?
@@TazL-o4k negative. I have no clearance issues. I’d loosen the head bolts, and the rear mounting bolts so it’s loose. Maybe put a spacer or a small block on there, and the tighten it all back up and remove the spacer. Might work. Good luck!
Hey Link, great video. Just want to ask you, my 07 DRZ SM, couldn’t start up. Turn the key on, lights are on, but when I press the starter switch, nothing happens. Not even a clicking sound.
