My 701 was stolen a few years ago. Got a check from the insurance and bought a naked street bike (890 Duke R). The fun I had on the 701 could not compare so I ended up selling the 890 two years later and bought a brand new 701. Supermotos are just amazing.
👍💯 yeah supermoto life rules. Although street bikes are fun they are one dimensional and supermotos are so much more fun and you can do more with them. I might have to add a 701 to the mix myself.
Do it @Cyclecruza !!! You been talking about it for years! You won’t regret it! Just keep your Yamaha 250 for being a hooligan off-road and the 701 for the road (streets). 😎✌🏾
Yeah it’s only the suspension and the aggressive sale team that lets the package down😞, we had my suspension revised but no matter what husqvarna did to it they couldn’t get it to rebound quick enough, it would load up in a turn hit a few breaking ruts you be on the bump stops and the bloody thing would unload usually in the form Of a low side, I assume your husky dealers over their are a lot smarter and probs friendlier than the one in oz!, my dealer didn’t give me all the spare parts so when I confronted him about it he said we’ve already tuned it for this climate, then he got soo pissed off so I rang my mate who the dealer knew of , had the spares in my hands in minutes! Thanks Dave
I just picked up a Kawasaki KLX 300 duel sport. It’s so much fun. Suzuki needs to update the DRZ 400. They are being lazy. It needs fuel injection and a 6 speed gearbox.
It doesn't really need either. To be honest. Yea if your gonna ride it highway than yea a six speed is nice. Nothings wrong with the carb on it. You might have to fuk with it once every ten years as long as you store your bike in climate controlled environment and keep up on maintenance
They don't need to do anything to it. Will kill a 300 all day long even with your 6th gear. As for the carb if your fuel injection goes you'll need a mechanic to pick you up out in the desert where as a carb you can fix and ride home. I live in new zealand it gets cold as fuk here and live at elevation never once had a problem starting or loss power. Hope you dont get sick of the talk less ness on ya KLX to quick. Have fun G somo on!!
The KTM sure is nice. I still think Kawasaki should use the Ninja 400 engine in the KLX and gear it for more torque and that would be a great seller over the 300. I had a KLX 250 dual sport and it left a lot to be desired in the power department.
It would probably be too heavy with the twin engine in supermoto trim. I don't understand why Honda is the ONLY Japanese bike manufacturer to make a street legal 450 dual sport and KTM/Husqvarna/GasGas are the only ones making a 690cc/700cc supermoto.
I'm down the road in KY. I got a 2018 yz450fx from Ohio. I took it home and pretty much followed your build with a few different pieces. After I had it all put together I went to my license department to be told I can't title my bike in KY and get plates on it. They made a call and eventually told me I would have to find someone in Ohio to do the title conversion and then sign it back over to me. Once its a converted title from Ohio, KY would accept it and issue a plate. It's listed on marketplace in Lexington KY, still has the nipples on the tires. I actually went back and didn't mention it was a conversion and just told a new teller I purchased a bike and want to transfer the title to my name and get ky plates. They gave me a registration and plates, no questions asked! Awesome day 😎
Slick move! That is good to know that if I ever moved to KY I can bring my street-legal YZ with me and transfer the plates. I do have a street bike title so I should be able to convert in most states other than California. It is so easy to convert a dirt bike to street legal here in Ohio, we can even plate a 2 stroke.
@@CycleCruza I dont know for sure or not if what I did was in oversight or not but the less information we give to the licenses department the better it seems. A plated 2 stroke would be a sweet bike. From what I've researched lately it looks like Ohio is the only state that will knowingly allow off road vehicle to be converted and plated. Point for Ohio!
I’m in Cincinnati not to far from you, I would’ve met you at the bmv and did it for you. How’s the build? I’ll be doing the same thing here shortly. I look forward to it! I mean, it’s my first time going super moto, hope it’s as fun as everyone’s been saying it is.
@@ewalt5501 Thank you, I appreciate that! So far it's great! I've got it finished up and its an absolute blast to ride. I have a KTM Super Duke sitting beside it and both are the best bikes ever but I've been jumping on the YZ over the ktm lately. The build is just as much fun as riding the bike
From what I’ve heard, there’s a company in Oregon that will do this for you. Allegedly OR has really loose laws on getting titles changed from off road to street. Never done it myself, but may be worth looking into.
I have a DRZ and the carburetor is a plus not a minus. If I make a mod it only takes a few minutes to rejet the carb. I like the KTM, but didn't want to pay the extra money.
That's such a region specific thing that doesn't outweigh all the annoying drawbacks of dealing with a carb. You have so much more precise control with fuel injection also because it can be tuned exactly.
@@TamaHawkLive fuel injection is cool don’t get me wrong but i wouldn’t make it a deal breaker when buying a bike, im not a mechanic by any means but a couple youtube videos and google searches and i have tuned many carburetors and had all successes, i can literally buy all the performance parts in the world and spend 5-10$ on a main jet and 30 minutes of my time and my bike is now tuned accordingly, i think carburetors are great for people who don’t mind getting their finger nails dirty and don’t mind spending a bit of time working and getting to know their bike to save hundreds to a thousand dollars in dyno tuning/power commander money, also keep something in mind boys fuel injection doesn’t add power when compared to carburetors for anything carburetors deliver power better, port injection isn’t all that i say this from literal facts and experience
They are a lot better these days from what I hear. However, it is still a tough sell over a trouble free maintenance free fuel injection. Even some of the 2 strokes are fuel injected now.
For the 701 it's wise to do more frequent oil changes. The first valve check is at 6k miles. I would gladly buy my 2021 Husky 701 SM again, fantastic road legal and track bike in stock form. For track only I'd get the FS450 in a heartbeat.
Agreed. My boy has a FS450 that thing is insane. Extremely light weight/ put together. U can feel the difference between that and a dirt bike just by standing by it 😅. The SMR as well. (Same bike) they just demand your attention. As a 690 owner I agree with everything else to. Alot of the time while I'm riding I start laughing because. I can't believe that thing is legal. That's a race bike with lights😂😂😂 . But ohhhh am I thankful.
I have a DRZ loved it so much, I saw a KLX 300SM at a dealership, and picked that up too. I got both bikes for 13k. Yes… the 701’s are awesome! No doubt. But I got 2 for the price of 1, and my wife now rides with me. It’s so cool to see the smile on her face. Best money spent. My advice. Get your girl off the back of your bike, teach her to ride on her own. We have way more fun riding together❤️ NOTE: Vespa scooters were the gateway drug. We rented some on a trip, after she got the hang of it, she wanted one. I put her on 140cc dirt bike on a camping trip, and it was game over. The KLX is a great bike for any rider. I love it, she LOVES it… I would choose the DRZ if I had to, but would be happy with either if you know what I’m saying. The KLX is not slow by any means. I’m a shade over 200lbs, and I can cruise at 70mph comfortably. I’ve never pushed it to its limits, but I’ve seen 84mph on the speedo bone stock. Just sayin’
Right. I'm sure a lot of these bikes are great, but they are way pricey. There are last model year klx's around me for dirt cheap...hard to pass up based on price alone. Could literally buy 2 brand new 230's for the price of even just a drz400. Price is a great equalizer.
I have the 2023 700SM and its so so so much fun! It is a little heavy and I would love to see it closer to 285lb wet but the power it produces is insane! If you are romping around in the curvy roads MPG is 50s. If you are taking it easy and just cruising around 50-64mpg is usually what I get. Buddy has the 690 and we are always out cutting up some curvy roads! 10/10 get one!
how does it do around 70mph, ive heard they ~cruise~ at 80mph but im looking into getting one my buddy has a husky 501SM and he loves it but its a bit too small for me and the 701 felt a lot more my size, reason i ask is because i work about 30 minutes on the freeway from my house and dont want to get another supernaked or sport bike want something a bit more fun
The KTM 690 Husky 701 and GasGas 700 can all easily cruise at 75mph and more. 5th gear is all you need for 55-65 mph. 6th is really for interstate speeds honestly. It’s an amazing bike!
Picked up a new KLX 300sm 2 months ago and love it. Great in town and better then a grom as I can easy go over to the next town or two over and not have issues with top speed.
Would love to see someone put out a nice light supermoto using something like a 650cc 270 degree crank parallel twin. Tweaked and tuned for bottom end power now that would be low maintenance and a tonne of fun! The Yamaha CP2 engine would be great, so basically a stripped back Tenere 700 supermoto 🤤
That would be cool! I don't understand why Japan would make a bike to compete with the KTM 690 SMCR/ Husky 701, a supermoto with the CP2 engine would be great.
I saw a guy that swapped a CP2 into a WR450F, the thing was fucking awesome and I wish yamaha would make stuff like that from the factory, they would sell like pancakes
So I should buy a 10 000 $ GasGas supermoto just because it got sick red stickers. Thank you for your amazing advices and marketing. I'm buying 4 bikes right now! And socks too!
I always wanted a supermoto with the duke 390 engine, low maintenance and lightweight, just imagine a street legal supermoto with 450 body but 390 engine, that would be cool and not expensive at all.
I love my 2022 701 SM, especially since the DNA filter, LV Decat and the EC flash. Standard they are ok but need these mods and also the uprated selector spring.
I had the option of buying the 690 SMCR or the 701 and I went with the 701. I prefer the color scheme of the Husqvarna, although the gasgas looks nice too!
@@CycleCruza It’s great! I haven’t taken it off-road yet but I’m looking forward to it. I swapped the tires out with 80/20 ADV tires so I’m hoping it does well in packed dirt and easy trails. The only thing I don’t like is the shifting feel. It feels clunky and sometimes it gives me false-neutrals. I’m hoping a factory pro shift kit will help with that.
@@DevQuestDavie You just need to change the selector spring, it's a €15 part and makes the changes soooooo much better. KTM/HV know about it and offered the spring years ago but no idea why they keep releasing bikes with the original crappy one.
I’ve had my DRZ 400SM for a little over a year now. I’ve never had any issues with the carb, even in the winter time. They have a choke for that reason. It’s been SUPER reliable through all the hooligan activities I put that poor thing through. Just rejet the carb, install a new exhaust and get rid of that ugly ass fender and you’re golden.
I agree. The Drz400sm is the ultimate sm in my opinion. I’ve almost doubled the hp in mine and I’m thinking about throwing a turbo on it. And they’re bulletproof. All these fools knocking it bc it’s carved is mind boggling to me 😂
Just did bunch of mods on my gasgas 700sm. Runs great in the twisties of Colorado. Thing is like a scalpel in the canyons. Ktm bought gasgas like they did husqvarna btw.
Important to note is one of the big differences between the Husqvarna 701 Supermoto and the KTM Sumo is that the KTM is not rated for an additional rider as the frame will not handle the added weight. However you can add another set of foot pegs to the Husky 701 SM in case you are interested in occasionally carrying a passenger. This info is in reference to the 2021 setups. Perhaps changes have been made to the KTM that allow an additional rider since then, but I'm not sure.
Do you get the Sherco 125 or 500SM over in the US? Also what about the SWM500R or the TM racing 300SM or 530SM? Do you think that the Fantic Caballero 500 Rally would make a good supermoto as i like the look of these? Im in the UK and looking into getting a factory built ready to ride supermoto for spring 25, but i don't think we can get the KLX here, so i don't know what to go for yet. The Ducati 698 has too much electronics and power for what i want, and its always nice to have alternatives to the KTM group bikes.
Good thing about the 701 is it comes with an extra year of warranty for no extra charge. The 2023 graphics for the ktm don’t look as good as the husky imo. Not a fan of the orange and blue, however they’re both amazing bikes. Love my 701
Broski your vids are always so entertaining. Thanks for sharin! I'm a woods rider but do commute on my 2009 WR250X. I'd love to up to something a bit bigger like your scoot or the KTM 450.
Would be cool if KTM would sell a street ready 350 supermoto. The 350 has good power, 6 speeds and a higher rev ceiling than the 450. That would be a cool supermoto. Of course you could just buy a 350 here in Ohio and make your own!!!
Not sure why you put the DRZ in a spot above the KLX300 when it is a much older design and more expensive? Just wondering what your logic is for ranking?
I know I'm blowing up the comments but a lot of people do not know the differences of the 690 701 700GasGas. The 700 is more Street oriented than both SMCR, 701. The KTM has a dirt StyleSeat, along with the GasGas, 701 is street style. The 701 allows you to turn off the traction control as you ride the bike. The others don't. Like I mentioned the seat is different. And the wheels on the gas gas 700 are mags not spoked.
@@rs660alec lol a kid around my house just bought the GasGas 700 it's real lol. And I have the 690, my boy has the 701. Seeing one is a rare thing though lol but boy are they nasty . These things shouldn't be legal 😅😅😅
@@brandondaily1558 I have a 2019, and no I can turn my ABS and TC off. But not while the bike is moving. The 690 doesn't allow it. But the husky 701 2021+ does, but only if the throttle is closed.
@@ridelikebuu Huh I can shut off the ABS and TC on my 2020 690. Just shut the throttle while moving and it shuts right off. I do admit they can be finicky about holding the button the right amount of time though.
My 450FX I converted was stolen. I get insurance money on Monday. Heading out to buy a 701. I ride a lot and want to meet up with the guys across town. I was doing oil changes every other day with FX. It was a of fun though. Thanks for advice over the years, and for this video.
Ah man sorry to hear. I feel you on the oil changes but my YZ450FX supermoto was never meant to be a main bike. Let me know how you like the 701, I'm curious to see much the weight is a factor. I might add a 690 SMC R or a GasGas SM 700.
I had a Husqvarna 510 Factory done supermodo. My favorite bike ever. I lost that bike due to a drug addiction And when I got back on my feet I built a supermodo out of a Yamaha 450. I hated that bike! It never Even come close to what that Husqvarna was. I would recommend anybody buying one get one that is factory done. Building one is Just a pain in the ass.
Holding Out for the newly announced 2025 Yamaha WR700F SMoto.. Specs (Weight??) to be determined. Prefer a Twin.. 70ish HP is about right. Hopefully low 300 Lbs max.
I'm leaning towards getting a supermoto but at the moment it's either supermoto or new track bike. As I don't plan to track my daily MT09 SP it's likely to be new track bike.
My list : 701 SM, ES700, SMCR 690 : Same bike. No debate, that's not even a real supermoto but still this is the best for the STREET. Any other lighter supermoto can be better if you're leaving in very specific area with a lot of mountain roads, but theses bikes are reliable, you can basically ride more which result in more pleasure, you can park them without too much issue. I got one that got stollen, got a more radical SM but still I miss the 701. Sherco 500 SMF, TM 530. It's a stock supermoto racing bike with 17 inch wheels, and this is street legal. The cost of a 501 FE swapped to Supermoto wheels is way more important. SWM 500 SM. Basically a old Husqvarna with electric kick start. Theses are Okeish reliable engine and bikes. The only « Low-cost » stuff here are clutch command but for the amazing price of theses bike, it's good stuff. Also they are street legal without any modification. CRF450, Kawasaki 450 KXF-SM, 450 YZ, 450 RM-Z. Theses bike are all probably very good but the street registration depend of your country. In France, they can be street legal when given in hands to a company called Khyks 300 TPI, 300 EXC-F, KTM 125 SX-SM etc… all the 2 strokes can be legal depending of your country. Same idea than previous. If you need something more « street friendly » for long rides and to ride with friends, then the 1100 hypermotard SP is a good bike despite not being a real supermoto. Amazing torque, amazing lightness, good brakes etc. It's probably still the best « hypermotard » bike. What I deliberatly not included : - 660 XT : even if I got a 660 yam, it's a huge boat and to me it's not good enough, not light enough. - DRZ : It's a good bike buk from an old era. When there is now the SWM, brand new, without even being modified as f*** by some scrub, you don't want a DRZ. Also if you have more cash, spend them for a 701 or SMC-R. It's really another dimension compared to a DRZ. - Hypermotard 950. Nothing but worst than a 1100 SP with the 1000DS engine. This new hypermotard is just more boring and got all the electronic shit that… you don't want in a SM. - Dorsoduro, Nuda etc… not that I dislike them, but again -> Get a real sumo or go straight for a 1100 HM SP.
Thinking about throwing down a deposit on a 2024 WR450F and converting to super moto setup. I was surprised how easy it was to get plates for my 250 last year.
Hey... anyone looking at a 690 or 701 or gas gas... don't! If you lay it down at slow speed, it's common to go up in flames. I slid out at 35 mph and when I picked up my bike it exploded into flames. I recommend a 501 converted to a sm.
Thanks for the info CC. Seems your slowly coming round to the DRZ i thought it was not going to make your list and glad to see it in front of the KLX where it deserves to be. The KLX has no talk and calls itself a sumo. I do not know why they would make an even smaller version of it they need to make a 500+ if they really want to dent the DRZ sales.
The DRZ400 will always be on my list, it.is a legend. It was going to be my first bike but I got a deal on a cbr250r at the time. I wish Suzuki would update the DRZ400 already, it is basically the same 90's bike. Europe has had a fuel injected DRZ for a long time.
@@CycleCruza Yeah its funny how one person can drive around in a SUV all day long but you cant ride a motorbike unless it meats the emission standards. I'm in New Zealand and they have stopped importing any bike without ABS lol ABS on a dirt bike kind of defeats the purpose.
I have a WR 250X. And I have 5 bikes and it is the most fun. I'm going to get some kind of other super-moto in the future. Something with more power. Peace.
Power wise, yes, easily, it's also very light. The thing you want to be sure of is if you fit on it for any length of time. I'm 6'5" and my KTM 690 is just "o.k." but not for long hours but I have a 37" inseam. Def want to see if you can find someone with one that you can take for a ride. It's the knee and hip angle if you have long legs that will get you. Too much power is actually not that great to learn technique with as you wind up fighting the power, my 690 is way more power than I'm capable of fully using.
@@kingsqueak2221 I ride a 08 1k fireblade, and I’m snug but not bad it’s comfortable enough to ride for a few hours before my neck and back start hurting lol.
@@ewalt5501 I took a BMW R1200S for a test ride, my hips locked and cramped so bad about 1/2 mile down the road, I could barely get pulled over, I nearly wrecked it LOL.
For sure, it has great power. If you want more power and lower maintenance get a 690 SMC R or Husky 701 but they are not as lightweight and wild as the YZ.
wow never thought that the price and weight of a super moto would be hardly different when compared to a street bike like a new mt07 or the new Gsx 8s...wow
I've been wanting a sumo forever. I'm about to grab a Chinese pit bike and convert it to try out. If I like it, I'm trading the sportster for a drz 400 sm 😁
Suzuki discontinued DRZ 400sm range which is sad. I tested out the hyper 950 loved it but after a few days I’m really thinking more about it and it’s such a serious bike which takes the fun out of it, I’m glad I haven’t had chance but I did test ride my friends DRZ 400 was heavily modded but I need to ride a husky.
@@GODSWORD11 Really? Are you sure? I was hoping to buy a brand new one in Australia. How about Europe? Please tell Europeans where they can purchase a 2024 Dr.Z locally.

They are not supermotos tho, they are dual sports but you can easily convert it to supermoto. Understand they do require more maintenance like dirt bikes, so you would never want to make one a main bike.
The 500 is a dual sport but you can do both off-road and on the road Maintenance is not bad on it Checked them out a week ago sat on the 500 it was nice there great Italian bikes❤
Super Motos are cool but I wouldn't buy one simply because I think you have to be skilled to handle a bike that has issues with keeping its front tyre on the ground but for those that have the skill you also have my respect.
Thanks Cycle Cruza for keeping us informed about the available supermotos! I’m still enjoying my 2020 DRZ400SM (gray color with blue wheels). It’s a blast to ride and has been very reliable.
@@dxquinnno Thanks for the recommendation! I thought about replacing the stock carb with one of those, but I’m satisfied with the performance mods I did. I installed a Leo Vince X3 slip-on exhaust and a K&N air filter. I may do the 3x3 mod and the JD Jetting Kit. Not a high priority though. I own two other bikes that I ride more than my DRZ. I have a 2020 SV650 and a 2022 MT-07.
well if your ever considering adding some serious power to your drz, an actual substantial transformation then i highly recommend fcr39, my bike can do 4th gear wheelies at 55mph and 3rd gear power wheelies with this simple carburetor swap i absolutely love it
I'd love to get a 450FX like yours. I think that would be the route I'd want to go if I were really serious about getting a Supermoto. I just don't have the tools to mod it.

"Top 10 street legal" - shows two bikes that aren't street legal
@@ericsanchez3959 I have a YZ450FX supermoto: ruclips.net/video/Os9Wz8lzHJ0/видео.html
Yeah it’s only the suspension and the aggressive sale team that lets the package down😞, we had my suspension revised but no matter what husqvarna did to it they couldn’t get it to rebound quick enough, it would load up in a turn hit a few breaking ruts you be on the bump stops and the bloody thing would unload usually in the form
Of a low side, I assume your husky dealers over their are a lot smarter and probs friendlier than the one in oz!, my dealer didn’t give me all the spare parts so when I confronted him about it he said we’ve already tuned it for this climate, then he got soo pissed off so I rang my mate who the dealer knew of , had the spares in my hands in minutes!
Thanks Dave
I had 2008 690smc great bike.Thinking to get 701 or Gas Gas 700.I was wondering if they have same top speed cause they have same engine?
But all of us zoomers have not the slightest clue about how to work on carbs, nor what to jet them to when we mod our bikes. It’s a forgotten art.
@@love2fight205 A zoomer that cannot seek out and learn information is lost in this modern world.

Carbs aren't a drawback they have their upsides. In a world where everything is efi. It's nice to have carb options.
100% agree especially here in california where efi power commanders/ecu flashers is illegal and u have to ship them to someone you know out of state
@@dxquinnno then why do you live there?

Love my 690 can't wait for mine to get repaired after i got hit :((
@@hatch707 omg that's terrible
I have a DRZ loved it so much, I saw a KLX 300SM at a dealership, and picked that up too. I got both bikes for 13k. Yes… the 701’s are awesome! No doubt. But I got 2 for the price of 1, and my wife now rides with me. It’s so cool to see the smile on her face. Best money spent. My advice. Get your girl off the back of your bike, teach her to ride on her own. We have way more fun riding together❤️
NOTE: Vespa scooters were the gateway drug.
Nice! 👍
how does it do around 70mph, ive heard they ~cruise~ at 80mph but im looking into getting one my buddy has a husky 501SM and he loves it but its a bit too small for me and the 701 felt a lot more my size, reason i ask is because i work about 30 minutes on the freeway from my house and dont want to get another supernaked or sport bike want something a bit more fun
The KTM 690 Husky 701 and GasGas 700 can all easily cruise at 75mph and more. 5th gear is all you need for 55-65 mph. 6th is really for interstate speeds honestly. It’s an amazing bike!
@@Maoshung well then that about solidifies my decision lmao
@@E39Key you will literally have no issues cruising at 75+

Considering starting out on a DRZ just to get into SMs, and then upgrading later to a 701.
Thats what i did highly recommend
drz still a drz nice bike

I had the option of buying the 690 SMCR or the 701 and I went with the 701. I prefer the color scheme of the Husqvarna, although the gasgas looks nice too!
How do you like your 701?
Wow that is awesome. I love the color scheme on the GasGas version. I might have to add one.

I’m planning on buying husqvarna 701! What’s the best way to break in this bike? How many oil changes do you recommend doing the first few?
Do you get the Sherco 125 or 500SM over in the US? Also what about the SWM500R or the TM racing 300SM or 530SM? Do you think that the Fantic Caballero 500 Rally would make a good supermoto as i like the look of these? Im in the UK and looking into getting a factory built ready to ride supermoto for spring 25, but i don't think we can get the KLX here, so i don't know what to go for yet. The Ducati 698 has too much electronics and power for what i want, and its always nice to have alternatives to the KTM group bikes.
I've barely been riding a month. I have a z400 and this makes me want a Supermoto!
Honda comes out with supermoto version of crf-L and its game over
Would be cool if KTM would sell a street ready 350 supermoto.
Awesome options.. I just started a channel using my wr450f primarily
Thank you, these bikes are almost myths
@@rs660alec lol a kid around my house just bought the GasGas 700 it's real lol. And I have the 690, my boy has the 701. Seeing one is a rare thing though lol but boy are they nasty . These things shouldn't be legal 😅😅😅

@@ridelikebuu Huh I can shut off the ABS and TC on my 2020 690. Just shut the throttle while moving and it shuts right off. I do admit they can be finicky about holding the button the right amount of time though.
I love the husky 701 but i got a problem with it, its the back design, the plates on the side are too "big" for me

My list :
701 SM, ES700, SMCR 690 : Same bike.
In France, they can be street legal when given in hands to a company called Khyks
300 TPI, 300 EXC-F, KTM 125 SX-SM etc… all the 2 strokes can be legal depending of your country. Same idea than previous.
If you need something more « street friendly » for long rides and to ride with friends, then the 1100 hypermotard SP is a good bike despite not being a real supermoto. Amazing torque, amazing lightness, good brakes etc. It's probably still the best « hypermotard » bike.
What I deliberatly not included :
- 660 XT : even if I got a 660 yam, it's a huge boat and to me it's not good enough, not light enough.
The DRZ 400 SM weighs 322 lbs wet but that was not an issue but 350lbs for a 690cc bike with 70hp is?
I bought the Husky 701. Sick bike. I would’ve loved to do the 459 street conversion, but you can’t do that in CA. Lame. Anyway, love the category.
Thinking about throwing down a deposit on a 2024 WR450F and converting to super moto setup. I was surprised how easy it was to get plates for my 250 last year.
Why a WR and not a YZ450FX? The YZ is unmolested as where the WR has to be modded to restore the fill unmolested power the YZ has.
my bike xrm125 honda just love watching you guys ride those bike that i can't even ride maybe for life ^^
Nice!

Just got the new KTM 890 SMT, got a bit of supermoto DNA 😁
Hi Chris what's up budd? Could you give me your opinion about a 2023 KTM 1290 adventure s? Thx.
Were can i get them handle gards and mirrors thats nice and clean
why mention the ducati hyper960 but not the 698 mono it will be king this coming year.
The Hypermotard 698 Mono is finally giving the 690/700/701 some competition! And I think it's way better looking.
Hey... anyone looking at a 690 or 701 or gas gas... don't! If you lay it down at slow speed, it's common to go up in flames. I slid out at 35 mph and when I picked up my bike it exploded into flames. I recommend a 501 converted to a sm.

So happy they've arrived 🎉🎉CycleCruza always best content Happy Mothers Day Fam ❤
Thanks for viewing fam! I hope you said Happy Mother's Day to your mom!
I'll buy a DRZ 400SM.
I’m waiting for an out of the box street legal 450.
Honda has a CRF450L but you'd have to convert it to a supermoto. There aren't many street legal 450cc supermotos, they are pretty rare but badass.
Yamaha WR450F?
@@CycleCruza Are you saying the drz400 has fuel injection but not in the states? Im wanting to get one in the Uk but the carb puts me off.
I have a WR 250X. And I have 5 bikes and it is the most fun. I'm going to get some kind of other super-moto in the future. Something with more power. Peace.

ever since i saw T2 i wanted a street legal dirtbike
I’m 6’3” 270 lbs, would the yz450 be strong enough for me to have fun on the street and with light off road hooligan stuff?
The HV 701 is the most badass supermoto out there. Wish they made a 400 or 450 version of it that was shorter for us hobbits.
Hi cyclecruza
Buy the KTM and make it street legal.
The Husky 701 is mega nice dreambike
wow never thought that the price and weight of a super moto would be hardly different when compared to a street bike like a new mt07 or the new Gsx 8s...wow
I've been wanting a sumo forever. I'm about to grab a Chinese pit bike and convert it to try out. If I like it, I'm trading the sportster for a drz 400 sm 😁
Crf 450 in full trim would smoke these round a track
Suzuki discontinued DRZ 400sm range which is sad. I tested out the hyper 950 loved it but after a few days I’m really thinking more about it and it’s such a serious bike which takes the fun out of it, I’m glad I haven’t had chance but I did test ride my friends DRZ 400 was heavily modded but I need to ride a husky.
Suzuki didn’t discontinue the Drz400sm. What you on boy??
@@GODSWORD11 in most countries they did, actually. Depends on where he lives.
@@machupikachu1085 FALSE
@@GODSWORD11 Really? Are you sure? I was hoping to buy a brand new one in Australia. How about Europe? Please tell Europeans where they can purchase a 2024 Dr.Z locally.
@@machupikachu1085 I don’t care. I bought my 2024 in America. Georgia to be exact.
I had a Zero Fxe loaner. It was sweet. Should be able to get a little more mileage than that. Probably like it better than my S

Honestly now that i live in a more rural area, i want to trade my sport bike something a little more versatile
You forgot to also recommended! Beta! 500rr-s ! Or a 430rr-s, or the 390rr-s bad ass bikes I really want the 500 or the 430 look them up so so nice someday I will own one!! 😊
I just got a drz400 and it does 110
CycleCruza why not the Suzuki dr 650
701 is 100 lb heavier and you don’t feel it at all. Its faster, its more powerful, its better looking , just all around a way better bike
How I can get my Husqvarna 250 te 2023 street legal
Love my klx 300sm❤
Super Motos are cool but I wouldn't buy one simply because I think you have to be skilled to handle a bike that has issues with keeping its front tyre on the ground but for those that have the skill you also have my respect.
Thanks Cycle Cruza for keeping us informed about the available supermotos! I’m still enjoying my 2020 DRZ400SM (gray color with blue wheels). It’s a blast to ride and has been very reliable.
Nice! Supermoto life is tbe best!
fcr39 swap my boy
@@dxquinnno Thanks for the recommendation! I thought about replacing the stock carb with one of those, but I’m satisfied with the performance mods I did. I installed a Leo Vince X3 slip-on exhaust and a K&N air filter. I may do the 3x3 mod and the JD Jetting Kit. Not a high priority though. I own two other bikes that I ride more than my DRZ. I have a 2020 SV650 and a 2022 MT-07.
well if your ever considering adding some serious power to your drz, an actual substantial transformation then i highly recommend fcr39, my bike can do 4th gear wheelies at 55mph and 3rd gear power wheelies with this simple carburetor swap i absolutely love it
the link for tires isn't working
I'd love to get a 450FX like yours. I think that would be the route I'd want to go if I were really serious about getting a Supermoto. I just don't have the tools to mod it.
