The one game I'm looking most forward to next gen is GTA 6. I think with the new consoles, Rockstar has more power than ever to make their wildest ambitions come true. I'm talking multiple locations, a map that evolves significantly (1980's-2020's), Dynamic hazards, Seamless Interiors, a more open mission design & tons & tons of gadgets that make use of physics (grapple gun, gliders).
Rockstar’s game design desperately needs improvement. RDR2 is proof of that. I don’t want to be punished for being a smart gamer and choosing to flank my enemies instead of busting down a door into an open environment and gunning down 20-30 guys while standing behind no cover. Stupid shit like that in RDR2 made the experience of playing through the game a laborious task. That, plus the horribly stiff controls. It’s 2020, stuff like that should have stayed back in 2005.

There's so much hype around Halo 6 when all the games 343 has released has been mired with criticism from the fans and yet everyone seems to forget that. I still think it's weird that they've been working on it for 4+ years and we have yet to see any gameplay. Sure anyone can make good looking trailers but how have we gone this long without anything?
I don’t even think the trailers look that good, but I still have high hopes for Halo Infinite because 343 chose to step away and bunker down for the past 5 years following Halo 5. I really think that Halo Infinite is a special case just because not only is it the last chance for the Halo franchise, but it’s also the saving grace of the Xbox brand. Halo is the face of Xbox, and after 2 duds in the series, 343 has to get this right. The days of Halo being at the top of the FPS food chain are long gone. If they fail, then Halo is over, and Xbox gets off to an underwhelming start to their next generation. The launch of Halo Infinite + Xbox Series X is of the utmost importance on both ends. It’s their last stand.

If we're counting on units sold I'm definitely thinking PS5 wins out. Just based on Japan/Europe alone. In US sales it'll definitely be more competitive. Not sure how accurate VGChartz is, but PS4 is currently only 5 million units ahead of Xbox One (35 million to 30 million) in the US.
My prediction is that Tencent and Nintendo team up for a streaming service. Tencent is the biggest gaming company in the world (as well as being a huge technology company) that I think doesn’t get talked about nearly enough. First party content is going to important for streaming services and Nintendo doesn’t have the technical infrastructure to go it alone, Microsoft will be a distant number 2 in this scenario. Also I feel Nintendo is in a great position as they have a handheld console that will easy to travel with and play games in wifi/data coldspots throughout the world.

The whole psvr 2 not happening seems out there. There was a patent, which could mean absolutely nothing, that looks like an improved psvr controller. Of course the oculus quest is better right now. It was released just last May. So of course it’s gonna be better. It’s like comparing a brand new pc tv vs a 3-4 year old pc. Of course it’s gonna better. I don’t believe the ps5 is less powerful. The psvr could be very different. I imagine it could be less wires. Of course you need the wire. I would take a psvr with same specs as a quest that I can use on my ps5. Psvr will get the popular games and then you get the great games like astrobot. Just because the one Houser brother left doesn’t mean GTA 6 wouldn’t be done any different. Rocksteady top 2 games are RDR and GTA and Take Two isn’t gonna let them change those games. GTA 6 will have a huge story like the last game.

Publishers are dying to have forced crossplay modes between pc and console for pvp games because it guarantees a player base for PC. CoD MW did this and Gears 5, Sea of Thieves. 3rd party doesn’t care about console vs console as those platforms are healthy enough in population but adding PC vs Console ensures more copies sold on pc. R6Siege has already said they won’t implement this garbage as a forced option for next gen crossplay so at least there’s a few devs with honor

If we're counting on units sold I'm definitely thinking PS5 wins out. Just based on Japan/Europe alone. In US sales it'll definitely be more competitive. Not sure how accurate VGChartz is, but PS4 is currently only 5 million units ahead of Xbox One (35 million to 30 million) in the US.

My prediction is that Tencent and Nintendo team up for a streaming service. Tencent is the biggest gaming company in the world (as well as being a huge technology company) that I think doesn’t get talked about nearly enough. First party content is going to important for streaming services and Nintendo doesn’t have the technical infrastructure to go it alone, Microsoft will be a distant number 2 in this scenario. Also I feel Nintendo is in a great position as they have a handheld console that will easy to travel with and play games in wifi/data coldspots throughout the world.

The whole psvr 2 not happening seems out there. There was a patent, which could mean absolutely nothing, that looks like an improved psvr controller. Of course the oculus quest is better right now. It was released just last May. So of course it’s gonna be better. It’s like comparing a brand new pc tv vs a 3-4 year old pc. Of course it’s gonna better.
I don’t believe the ps5 is less powerful. Those rumors were so old. Plus, there has been specs that has the equal or the ps5 better. Even the one where the ps5 runs much better then the Xbox. I can’t see the ps5 being less in power. Both companies are working with the same chip company. I’m sure each side has info about what the other has. But the Quest cause as much or more as a console. That is crazy for a device that you can only get a hand full of good games. At least with a psvr you can play vr games and will get some of your favorite games turned into vr experiences. The psvr could be very different. I imagine it could be less wires. Of course you need the wire. I would take a psvr with same specs as a quest that I can use on my ps5. Psvr will get the popular games and then you get the great games like astrobot.
Just because the one Houser brother left doesn’t mean GTA 6 wouldn’t be done any different. Rocksteady top 2 games are RDR and GTA and Take Two isn’t gonna let them change those games. GTA 6 will have a huge story like the last game.
Xbox series X is going to be 20-30% more powerfull than PS5. The only "spects" that are PS showing is just an SSD lol

I think Imran lost me when he said Jump doesn't really have the same cultural cache. I mean, nothing has the same cache as DBZ besides like...Pokemon and Naruto, but I think if you mention Shonen Jump the majority of people who watch anime will instantly pop for it. They know what that name means.

Publishers are dying to have forced crossplay modes between pc and console for pvp games because it guarantees a player base for PC. CoD MW did this and Gears 5, Sea of Thieves. 3rd party doesn’t care about console vs console as those platforms are healthy enough in population but adding PC vs Console ensures more copies sold on pc. R6Siege has already said they won’t implement this garbage as a forced option for next gen crossplay so at least there’s a few devs with honor

I kinda miss the old style of gamescast. These prediction shows are ok, but I liked it better when we were watching you guys talk about what you been playing or got to preview. The conversation seemed more organic and enjoyable.
