He said Nintendo approached Disney of Japan one time, he was NOT speculating there STOP saying he was. Banjo was awhile ago, neither episodes matter. It doesn’t matter what podcast it was, Imran was speaking the truth about Nintendo considering Sora. He was not speculating. He didn’t say I think. Stop denying it. Did you know Imran is an insider? Did you know you need to stop bullshitting even if you want Sora? He LEGIT SAID IT SO idiot. No “bUt it Was SpEcuLatIon”. It wasn’t. Imran was talking about the past when Nintendo approached Disney Japan and it didn’t work out. THEN Imran started to speculate about Sora being in Pass 2. It wasn’t. Imran didn’t realize that. It doesn’t bond well for Sora right now and he isn’t likely right now. Realize what effects a character.

1. New Perfect Dark Game Announced
2. Blue Point's game is a remake of Ape Escape
3. A re imagining of Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War will be announced for next year.
4. Ryu Hayabusa is one of the dlc characters for Smash Ultimate
5. Xenoblade Chronicles Remake will tease in some way the next Xenoblade Chronicles game.
6. Konami brings back Silent Hill
7. A New Megaman will be announced.

I'm panicked about Sora's situation on Smash because of this.... I just hope he meant they failed to get him on the past but not on these days with this new FP, because Sora's demand has been pretty high these days, more than Smash 4 days

Caleb Teklu they added king k rool, Ridley, dark Samus, Simon Belmont, And banjo purely because people asked for them.
That's 5 characters out of about 20. Most other characters were either those fans weren't asking for or those they specifically didn't want (incineroar and byleth).

Imran's "Initiative" prediction is awesome. How about a Thor game, where they actually got Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddelston as actors to counter God of War on Playstation's side?

I usually like to put the Time Stamps in the comments for people like me who watch on their phones (iPhone specifically). Sometime in the past week though, YT finally updated their iOS app so you can now click/tap the time stamps in the description.
Red Dead 2 has the whole Read Dead 1 map playable in there so I can totally see GTA VI having Vice City Liberty City and San Andreas

Mexico is there. It doesn’t have any buildings with collision data but the topography is all there and can be walked around in. You can glitch into the area.

Barlog leaving GOW 2 was never announced. It would be a terrible idea to make a new GOW without him heading the project.
if he's not game director (besides lets be honest, I seriously don't know how GoW's combat could be improved) he'll probably at least be lead narrative designer (which is still a fuckload of work anyways)
For context, he described the GoW production as basically everyone running everything by him. Like if you finished something you'd show him and he'd say "That's good" or tell you to change it to fit the vision. For a AAA that's a lot of hours and a lot of time. He needs probably a creative partner that will also understand the vision of the game, it sounds like he basically had the game in his head and everyone else had to depend on that
Could you imagine the smash character reveal thing happening and then hearing the halo theme?!? Goddamn dude!
Predictions for 2020:
1) A new Dune RTS game released at or around the new Dune movie
2) World of Darkness Online development reboots with a new developer
3) Harry Potter RPG released
4) Warcraft 4 announced
5) Half-Life 3 announced at The Game Awards
, it's probably VR as well
Wishes for gaming in general:
1) Final Fantasy 8 Remake with the quality of Final Fantasy 7 Remake
2) Warcraft 4-5-6 and then World of Warcraft 2 with modernized game mechanics and updated graphics
3) A new Prince of Persia Trilogy
4) The Battle for Middle Earth 3 or remake
of 1
5) Assassin's Creed Remake, which is closer to E3 2006 presentation instead of what Ubisoft released
6) Bethesda sells Fallout rights to the Obsidian, and Obsidian makes an isometric RPG Fallout
7) A proper Heroes of Might and Magic game like 3
8) Contradiction sequel
I legit thought the numbers at the end of the episodes were part numbers. Like all parts of the same episode. Realized once it got over a 3hr run time that probably wasn't the case...
Predictions:
1. Nintendo will have a new Switch launching this holiday season and will launch with Bayonetta 3 and Breath of the Wild 2
2. PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus merge into one
3. Rare announces a Conker reboot
4. Horizon 2, Bloodborne 2, and Resident Evil 8 are all given reveal trailers at the PS5 event, with Horizon 2 getting a full gameplay reveal and release date
5. (This is a very wild one so bear with me) Square Enix announces Final Fantasy XVI, which will sell itself on the fact that it is going to be the FINAL Fantasy, and will bring back fan favorite protagonists
All or none of these have a chance of even happening, but I thought it was fun coming up with these
Here's my thought process about Sora and Master Chief in Smash:
When you look at the demographics of Halo and Kingdom Hearts, there is a huge difference. Xbox is a huge seller here in America. Clearly not as big as Playstation, but it still is a great selling console. And Halo is Xbox's most dominant title. So of course people here in America (or the West in general) are going to be more excited for Master Chief to be in Smash. But, when you look at Japan's side of this, things take a turn. Xbox sold HORRIBLY in Japan. To the point where it's almost rare to see somebody in Japan play an Xbox console. With that said, it's safe to say that nobody in Japan really cares about Master Chief, or Halo in general. It's just the West.
Now on the other hand, we got Kingdom Hearts. Kingdom Hearts is a HUGELY loved franchise here in both the West and Japan. The Kingdom Hearts fans are worldwide, way bigger than Halo. So of course people are going to want Sora in Smash Ultimate. From the statistical standpoint, Sora is one of the most requested characters in both America and Japan, so he clearly has a lot of support from the world. And we all know how Sakurai feels about his fans in Japan.
So now, my statement stands: While I have no problem of which gets in, I think Sora from Kingdom Hearts has a bigger chance of getting added to Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Zachariah Smith Based on what we’ve heard Sakurai say in a recent Famitsu interview (linked from this Kotaku article kotaku.com/masahiro-sakurai-says-there-are-too-many-fire-emblem-ch-1841514338/amp): despite his preferences and his wishes for Smash fans preferences, it’s ultimately (heh) up to Nintendo to present him with the selected candidates and up to Sakurai to make them work. The selection process therefore sounds way more bureaucratic than just “these are the most popular characters that could work in Smash’s environment so let’s start the business dealings with their respective IP owners.”
IMO after hearing that, it’s gonna be a lot harder guessing who the next fighters are gonna be from here on out
Halo as whole sold more than Kingdom Heart. Where did you get that Kindgom Heart is bigger than Halo?
They have a damn KH hotel in Japan. You were very spot on, KH is eastern why would they end a nintendo game with xbox?? I never thought MC was gonna come to this smash. Now the next smash, I could see MC on it

I can't really say that I can accurately predict much outside the obvious, but I can at least safely say that we are at least getting a Pikmin 3 port this year.
Now, what extras that port will come with, I couldn't hazard a guess.
I always thought an Uncharted starring Drake's mom back in her explorer days could be really cool. I would love an Uncharted in that time period

Ok, what if GTA 6 goes back to London? Or we get GTA online as a stand alone separated from the single player games and offers the multi city set up and you can fly between cities, like DCU online.
I agree Master Chief would get more headlines and would be more shocking. I think more people would be actually jumping with joy at Sora. Also, I think Tim is putting way too much importance on the fact that they already picked the characters. They said the same thing last time. That’s how these thing go.

I think everyone kinda right on GTA Vice City. I could see it being a game with a present vice city and a past vice city with a story connecting them. Maybe a single character or maybe a father and a son.

A good Marvel IP for The Initiative would be a Black Panther game, the movie performed extremely well so I could see them wanting to capitalize on it while they wait for Black Panther 2
I don't think I can play the original MGS1 now, but if they remastered Twin Snakes. I would definitely buy that game.

This is a really good timeline and it means they would have to announce Q2 2020 at the latest. I do think there's a possibility they start dropping games in this new, hot march/april window.

They said that the development was stressful for him but tou have to imagine that the next game wouldn't be as bad since the foundation and the vision is already there

Just picked up Day's Gone this past week on a deep price cut. I think there's definitely a case to be made for a DG2. DG1 is better than Assassin's Creed 1 in direct comparison and for the time it was released and AC launched a pretty successful franchise. I loved your critiques of DG but the game is better than the some of its parts. And, IMHO, the pace of the game is not well aligned with the necessarily fast pace and scrutiny of a review process. Looking forward to hearing your second opinion, Greg!

He was just predicting that The Initiative will do a Marvel exclusive like Sony did Spider-Man. The Initiative is Microsoft's Santa Monica studio, run by Darrell Gallagher who did Crystal Dynamic games, and includes Drew Murray who was part of Ratchet and Clank/Resistance/Sunset Overdrive. I hope Imran is right because I'd like to see what they'd do, ha.

GTA 6 announced in the fall for a 2021 spring released date, but is ultimately pushed into the fall of 2021 just like GTA V and similarly to RDR2.
Master Chief would easily get more discussion lol. It is next level and would get a new audience to play and buy the game.
I likewise agree with Imran that Sony will utilize PSX this year. It makes too much sense. It would be beyond arrogant and overconfident of Sony not to take advantage of their own platform.

I think if Rockstar do another GTA it will be released simply as 'Grand Theft Auto' and it will be an ongoing service like GTA 5 Online but bigger

I really don't see why people are citing this video as a "leak" for Sora not getting in Smash. It's a podcast of guys making predictions of who's coming to Smash next. They're speculating. They're not 'leaking" anything. They all collectively believe that Sora might in fact be coming to Smash! None of them confirmed it's not happening. They just said that IF Sora doesn't happen, it'll be because of Disney. Keyword being "IF." But if you people are somehow stretching the segment to say it's confirmed Sora isn't coming, you really need to work on your active listening skills.

I don't really understand Imrans thought process when he predicted God of war 2 would have a new director and Stig would be back. I am sure that the sequel will try to do the one take camera throughout again which Cory was responsible for, so to change director would be weird. Also like the others said, surely stig would stay and work on a Star Wars sequel at respawn.

Gta 6 5 years away? A console generation is roughly 7 years. It would make no sense for them to wait till almost the end of the next generation to release it. Especially since we technically did not get a new gta for this entire generation.
