God I would've love to have heard Everson during that😂

  • @frozennorth3426

I think I’ve already replayed the “whathefuk??… thefukitisnt!!” section about 20 times and laughed out loud every time” 😅

  • @bignems314

I mean, this is the same kicker that made 3 other field goals including a 50 yarder earlier in the game. Not saying they shouldn't have been mad, but damn that offense with AD should've been able to grind out one touchdown you'd think

  • @tonyowens6802

Toughest SOB. Bud Grant in a polo shirt that day…😳

  • @kevnlevn47

Holy shit Phil! I was just east of the 50 yrd line 3rd row behind the Vikes bench and everybody was hugging and hi 5in and my gf at the time was grabbing my shoulders like "he's gonna do it we're gonna win".. And I got that same feeling..... You had to hold your breath to see that day it was so f-n cold.. But I didn't look I knew he would miss. Such is the fate of a Viking fan. We sat there in the stands until everyone went in the tunnel and I was the guy that yelled (raging scream)"F-u Walsh" as he ran into the tunnel. A bunch of coaches and trainers looked at me and could see the anguish in my face, I could tell they understood. Needless to say I had my son kick a 27 yarder 2 years ago at training camp in eagan barefoot just to reinforce my feelings about that day. He was a kicker/punter at irondale now in college at Mankato for civil engineering.

  • @mrgobbleton

  • @XRPriest777

I remember not getting a good night's sleep after that game.

  • @chadmyron2552

My exact words were “we have to make the kick first..” That one hurt almost as bad as 98, but not quite.. I was too damn drunk for the Favre NFC Championship game to affect me..

  • @caesaraugustus784

Went to the gopher game against Nebraska that year in 2015 on that end zone. I knew he was gonna miss it because of the wind in that open section and Blair being more of a right hash kicker. Still hurts 💀

  • @frozennorth3426

Boone’s “I got to watch it in the spring” was a little ominous after the previous story about spring training featuring endless film reviews / post-mortems of the previous year’s failures.

    WTF!!!!

I will never forget being at that game. The air temp high was -6F. It was the 2nd season of being at outdoor games and I finally got my layers dialed in so I could last a whole game in cold weather. We stood the entire game because as soon as you sat down you got cold and you weren’t going to warm up. I remember walking around the concourse of TCF at halftime seeing the Seahawks fans who thought their fancy North Face jackets were going to keep them warm and laughing at their misery. Somewhere in my house I have a certificate from the Vikings for attending the coldest game in Vikings history. I was so anxious to get to warmth by the end of the game I don’t think I was even that mad. I do have a theory on why Walsh missed. On one of his earlier makes the refs let a Seahawk come off the edge a little early and he nearly blocked the kick. I think Walsh was subconsciously thinking about that and hurried his kick which made him yank it left. Just a theory. No way I could do another game outdoors like that.

Awesome show guys love it !!!

  • @JPibbs2198

Why can i perfectly imagine Rick Spielmans voice. Was a great impression

  • @AftertheReviewSports

So painful... my dad swears to this day that team gets to the super bowl if he makes that kick

  • @jaredpribyl

😂 this is great. We need to be able to laugh at some of these moments, bc what a gut punch that was

  • @dgatz1247

Same thing happened to me. A fellow Viking diehard friend of mine sent me a celebration text before the kick. And I'm like dude you should know better than to celebrate a win before a Viking kick! Now we are screwed! I felt the exact same thing as Phil and sure enough.......

  • @ebowe07

I had the exact same feeling watching Walsh's 27 yarder. Before the snap my thought was "He's gonna miss."

  • @roryolson61

This was a great session to see these 2 ex Vikings commenting on KICKERS! God I love Boone and not in a weird way ! SKOL Vikings till Valhalla!
