Much respect to the Mama's and the Papa's for the original version of this song and to the Beach Boys for showing absolute respect to them in their own way. I actually prefer this version because of how haunting it sounds. The guitar and sax solo in the middle and the repeating of "California Dreamin' on such a winter's day" at the song's coda is what seals the deal for me. Leave it to the Beach Boys to create such a beautiful rendition that it's still used in media like Stranger Things. Thus making it even more relevant as more people discover this long-standing band. So thanks for uploading this, the Beach Boys truly took this song and made it their own. Also, Requiescat in Pace Carl, you were taken from us far too soon.

Excellent song from excellent music band
When you think all versions can't get better, THIS!!!
My favourite band ever for all my 44 plus years. Have all their albums. All very talented individuals. Their music is timeless.

Wow! This is absolutly: stunning. Giving a tribut to the Mamas and the Papas. The Beach Boys: legend. ❤
I am 73 and have never heard this version before
This is the best version of California dreaming I've heard!
Agree 100%
Old California culture was the best! love The Beach Boys.
Cheers

All their music gives me goosebumps. LOVE IT ALWAYS ❤
nice to meet you I have been observing some comments lately and I find you very interesting and also clever, I never got the chance to say Hello 👋
Same Here
Had goosebumps and tears at the same time. Singing along. Thank you to both groups for your historical contributions to music. Godbless.
me too, and i've been a HUGE fan of both bands since the 60s, but the Beach Boys will always be my all-time faves... i heard/saw this version years ago and loved it....but seeing it again just now made me feel so emotional.
Same here❤
Holy smokes how have I never heard this? I was sure I'd been through their whole catalog. What a treat.
This is what professionals sound like.
❤ GREAT VERSION
The first time I heard this version by the BeachBoys I loved it. I like it better than the Mamas and the Papas' version. The guitar work is awesome!
Eu também amei!
Roger McGuinn from the Byrds was playing guitar around the one minute mark.
I've never heard this version before but I love it!
Nice cover, nice mix, legendary roster with you guys and McGuinn on sax, Philips and Michelle. The Griffith Park visuals make this a timeless retro. Never Heard Barry McGuire's version but the Mamas & Papas cut still triggers images of a rainy day, my mom driving us down Sycamore Trail behind Valley View School. Neve knew until just recently you guys covered this one. Thanks BB's for the stroll down memory lane.
Love it love it love it ❤
Beautiful song a perfect 10
I’m 15 and I’m glad music before the 2010’s and 2020’s exist
beautiful ! McGuinn's Rickenbacker reminds me of The Byrd's "My Back Pages" album. Just beautiful !
Always loved the original but this version... EPIC! I’m totally addicted.... BB... make every one of us wanna pack up and hit Cali... it’s this summer’s song... 🤙🏼🤙🏼
This is simply an amazing video 📹
It is an amazing tribute to the original, I honestly like it better than the original original………but move to Cali????? Not a chance
Lol,. Crime is at record highs, under Gavin newscum pelosi waters
helllo
Great song.
I want to be in California
You can never go wrong with The Beach Boys. Period. They also looked really good in the video.
The Beach Boys are legends man... I'll always love em...
Just another great song from one of the greatest bands of all time!!
Someone will always be here. It's the beach boys.....
🔥🔥🔥
Great cover by the Boys...awesome video, and loved the cameos!👍
Forgive my ignorance but who were the cameos?
@@CreweMike Michelle and John Phillips. Roger McGuinn of the he Burds.
@@CreweMike It was John and Michelle Phillips, along with Rodger McGuinn..
Their daughter Chyna, and Brian's two daughters went on to form Wilson Phillips
@@nataliem.campbell6678 Yes indeed!
Probably their best overall video right up there with somewhere near Japan. This was a great remake too of a classic 60s song. Too bad they didn't do more like this
look into the beach boys discography, there's never ending treasures to be found
Maravilloso tema musical! Tantos recuerdos hermosos! Thanks, The Beach Boys!!!! 4 Efer!!!!
Best version of this song for me.
It was purely by chance that I heard this version on VH1 Classic and I remember being surprised because I had no clue it even existed, also because even though it wasn’t there song it was different from the happy and upbeat sound they were known for, I still think this is probably the best cover of this song and the Boys did it justice.
