I feel these guys don't get enough recognition. They were "The Beatles" biggest competition and both pushed each other to pull off better and memorable music that we have today. When I ask others about classic rock they'll mention foreign bands like "The Rolling Stones", "The Who", "The Beatles" but bands like "The Beach Boys" and "The Three Dogs Night" show America had their own talented musicians that could compete with the best.
Thinking the same was there some kind of Priscilla scandal? Because it has been the longest since Elvis got a proper movie. Mama and Papa’s too while im rambling.
When it comes to Three Dog Night they probably don't get much recognition because to most the 60's are way back in time! I do agree with you three dog night had some great songs. I was a kid when I heard them playing on tv. They were good!!!!
@@JimmyOliver-vu5ep Yeah. The "Three Dogs Night" are amazing in their own right. They sold out more tickets on their most popular shows than "The Beatles" by comparison.

I wasn't even in to music at that age but their music was so good that I I liked it and to this day I still like their music and the name three dog night has always come to mind first when someone ask about my favorite bands!!!
Tracks like this defined a higher level of "pop song". Harmony and voices became more complex than before, but melodies remained clear and simple to appreciate. Wonderful.
The 60s, what a decade must it have been to live in! Imagine seeing all those influential rock bands in their prime: Beatles, Byrds, Beach Boys, Velvet Underground, Grateful Dead, Dylan, Cream, Who, Kimks, Credence...
God, the break at 1:41 is one of the most beautiful pieces of pop music ever recorded. Just the merging of the harmony and the piano, and the "I dunno where but she send's me there... " Oh goodness me. Genius is written all over the show. Fantastic, over the last decade and a bit they're rightly getting the credit for "Pet Sounds," and "Smile," The Beatles thought they were two kick arse albums. That's the highest compliment really.
1981, Selland Arena in downtown Fresno. All three brothers were still alive, Bruce was in the band again, we must have spent 15 minutes chanting "Gotta keep those lovin' good vibrations happ'nin' with her..." can't deprive me of such great memories.
This was back in LA’s golden era. Some of these scenes may have been on the Wilson’s street in Lawndale, which now lies buried under the 105. GV is considered one of the greatest pop songs ever recorded.
The Street is still there and the houses around the Wilson’s I have no idea why they took out the Wilson’s in the freeway expansion! I saw the unveiling of the bah relief Beach Monument and him perform in my room fifty yards from where his room was. My Brother was friends with bass David’s Marks who lived down the street. He said Brian would seek asylum from his brutal Father at the Marks Home. So he could written “”My Room” there.
The Beach Boys story with Brian Wilson, they have a history that is weird and wonderful. They are far out, psychedelic. They have paid their dues a real rock n roll band. You think you know them because your familiar with some of their songs but there is so much more to them. I just can't get enough. I have had to re discover them through all their work.
kyle simboner last time i checked chuck berry never made anything like this, or pet sounds.. or anything after. you obviously have no clue what youre talking about, go listen to them more maybe u will rethink it
kyle ciarrocchi they took the riff from one song by Chuck Berry and made huge hit with it. they didn't steal it, they got permission from Berry. they respected him a whole lot
This was my dad’s favorite band, so I grew up listening to this music. It reminds me of being out on the boat in Minnesota. But I just watched the new documentary on Disney+ and now I have my own appreciation for this band and the music.
Although the old crustiness had its charm, I really do appreciate that someone went ahead and updated this, Good Vibrations is one of the greatest songs ever written and it should be treated as such. Smile is the greatest album never made! Beach Boys for life, America's band!
The audio quality made me think of how in 1966, people would had hear Good Vibrations on their radio stations or from their cars and let me tell you.... it blows minds to hear this compared for what wascoming in the music industry. Like a meteor.
Rollingstone magazine called it one of the greatest albums ever!! Which is Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys and many artists, fact checkers, and lots of people who run the music industry agree, and of course the Smile Album won awards for being the most anticipated RocknRoll Album in history!!So take that with a grain of salt..Oh and I actually produce records so I know what it takes to make "real music"
Similar to "A Day in the Life", and "All You Need Is Love" (1967). Psychotic, psychedlic, top-of-the-line homages to go and get to the inside of your mind. The 1966-68 years had some outstanding songs, and peons to psychedelic music. So many classics of that era, it boggles the mind to recall how many there were! "Incense and Peppermints" (1967) by Strawberry Alarm Clock was one of my favorites!
@@freeguy77 I was born in 1950 and lived through all that. Jimi Hendrix? Joplin? Had all the vinyl. The 70's were great, too. The Eagles, etc. All I hear now are fake instruments with tuned up voices and lyrics that barely register as decent. I could go on but it's time for my morning nap. LOL Take care. And don't forget to "live for today".
Grew up in the 70's on the beach in Australia, listening to the Beach Boys. Back then noise pollution wasn't a thing , the local surf club had speakers placed on metal poles all around the place and pumped the Beach Boys all day. That's a really good idea for a TV Show. Kind of like how the Aquabats are super heroes, The Beach Boys should have had a show where they were firefighters. Maybe they could do a cartoon like The Beatles. I'm thinking like maybe the animation in the Heroes and Villians video.
I'm driving to the beach right now and listening to the Beach Boys. The amount of shivers I've had so far is immeasurable. Edit, 8 hours later: The day was amazing.
I love the Beatles most of my life I'm 65 but honestly I've gotten so burnt out with the commercialism! "For $50 you can hear John actually fart in the third verse of I am the walrus"! I'm just sick of it so about 5 years ago I started paying more attention to the Beach boys and got deeper and deeper. The stones may have been the English rivals of The Beatles but their true rivals were the Beach boys.

year 2021 and still sounds so perfect , without any doubt a MASTERPIECE !!!
I think that's an understatement, no words can be found for how good this band was.
Yes, this song was an instant favorite of mine when it first came out, so original and fun.
I feel these guys don't get enough recognition.
They were "The Beatles" biggest competition and both pushed each other to pull off better and memorable music that we have today.
When I ask others about classic rock they'll mention foreign bands like "The Rolling Stones", "The Who", "The Beatles"
but bands like "The Beach Boys" and "The Three Dogs Night" show America had their own talented musicians that could compete with the best.
@@AdditionalAndrew5916 I was just a kid, probably nine or ten years old when they were playing their songs on tv. I wasn't even in to music at that age but their music was so good that I I liked it and to this day I still like their music and the name three dog night has always come to mind first when someone ask about my favorite bands!!!
I don't know, they get a lot of recognition by people who know anything about music. Legendary band.
Most incredible piece of music in the modern era.

Yes, did and am enjoying the music from the 60’s and 70’s .
Yes the break is ethereal! 🎶 🎉
Good vibrations everyone.. have a nice day!

One of the most fabulous pieces of pop history, a true pocket symphony.

Anytime I'm in a funk, i through on some Beach Boys music and it always puts a smile on my face. Their music and harmonies just can't be beat!
!!!!!
hands down one of the best pop songs ever made, its got so much and hits the mark at every level it travells.
Hawthorne
The Street is still there and the houses around the Wilson’s I have no idea why they took out the Wilson’s in the freeway expansion! I saw the unveiling of the bah relief Beach Monument and him perform in my room fifty yards from where his room was.
My Brother was friends with bass David’s Marks who lived down the street. He said Brian would seek asylum from his brutal Father at the Marks Home. So he could written “”My Room” there.
It's always amazing to discover that this song is only 3:34 long. It feels so rich and much longer, like a mini symphony.
one of those Hippie Hits that was close to perfection,, the feelings this tune generates is sublime
This song is so brilliant it brings tears to my eyes. It overwhelms my soul.
The BOYS were my group of choice in my teens and I still love their sound after all these years.
I saw them in concert twice. As good as ever.
The Beach Boys story with Brian Wilson, they have a history that is weird and wonderful. They are far out, psychedelic. They have paid their dues a real rock n roll band. You think you know them because your familiar with some of their songs but there is so much more to them. I just can't get enough. I have had to re discover them through all their work.
this video is kinda psychedelic in seeming to have nothing to do with the song
such good music, so so much love for the beach boys
Well well well, look who it is.
we share only the best music taste their is buddy!
they stole all their shit from chuck berry you tool
kyle simboner last time i checked chuck berry never made anything like this, or pet sounds.. or anything after. you obviously have no clue what youre talking about, go listen to them more maybe u will rethink it
kyle ciarrocchi they took the riff from one song by Chuck Berry and made huge hit with it. they didn't steal it, they got permission from Berry. they respected him a whole lot
The silly antics on this video (other than the girl) have nothing to do with the song, and do not treat it with respect.
sneadh1 the silly antics are the best thing about the beach boys
The audio quality made me think of how in 1966, people would had hear Good Vibrations on their radio stations or from their cars and let me tell you.... it blows minds to hear this compared for what wascoming in the music industry. Like a meteor.
Saw them last night in Utica NY. So fun! Seen them over 20 times. Never gets old. I’ll be 70 this year…

The percussion in this song is so simple, yet so perfect and impactful to the song. Just perfect 👌🏻

pffff whatever you say pal
Rollingstone magazine called it one of the greatest albums ever!! Which is Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys and many artists, fact checkers, and lots of people who run the music industry agree, and of course the Smile Album won awards for being the most anticipated RocknRoll Album in history!!So take that with a grain of salt..Oh and I actually produce records so I know what it takes to make "real music"
Agreed. Definitely up there with Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen (at least in terms of pop music anyway)
A song that deserved to become part of the American lexicon. So well-crafted and produced it blew everyone away. Still does.
Indeed
I learned to surf with the Beach Boys inculcated into my mind which now is a pleasant memory. Today I was at the beach and kids are different. I saw a young pair of kids laying next to each other busy scrolling away on their 'not so' smart phones, and i said to myself, they don't know what there missing.
What an odd choice of visuals for the song. A hell of a lot of fun though.
This is "Beach Boys a.k.a. Keystone Cops"! Hokie as could be but gotta love their oldies.

The Beach Boys wrote songs that will last for all time ... That's an amazing achievement
The saddest day of my life was when I found out that the Beach Boys weren't also firefighters that slept in the same giant bed...
That's a really good idea for a TV Show. Kind of like how the Aquabats are super heroes, The Beach Boys should have had a show where they were firefighters. Maybe they could do a cartoon like The Beatles. I'm thinking like maybe the animation in the Heroes and Villians video.

@@garysnow1475I agree with you. Even with their cult following I feel that the Beach Boys are still criminally underrated.
I have also begun digging deeper. I tend to listen to a lot a baroque and classical music and I am blown away by the harmonies that these songs have.
