I think, considering GoPro, DJI and quite everything record not faster than 200Mbs (25MBs), and both of them are V30, USH-I U3, A2 (and bla bla bla), there is no difference at all. Just marketing. The pro version is just a little bit faster, but not noticeable in real life and 75MBs it's already three time faster than 200Mbs. But the no Pro version costs about the half.
Just get the extreme pro, it is worth it, you want to get all the juice you can get out of it and clearly my mobile had a difference with the 2 1 TB. I think I have a video or more on it somewhere when I tested, but you got some extra speed with the Pro Extreme even on a old mobile.
Thank you for your video! I have a question. I would like to buy a memory card for my GoPro Hero 10. It should offer the best performance for the GoPro Hero 10. Should I buy a SanDisk Extreme Plus or a SanDisk Extreme Pro? Both have the exact same read and write speeds according to the datasheets. Thanks!
@@stevencarrier5060 I found out at the time that only the name of these two memory cards is different. The properties of both memory cards are identical. That was a pure marketing joke from Sandisk. I chose the Extreme Pro and am happy with it.
@@luke11986 that’s all I could find also! And now they make the extreme plus that is identical to the previous version but reads 200 mbps and 140 mbps. No reason we should have to research when buying a memory card. Best Buy sells the old card for $20 cheaper but it’s almost half the speed. Deceptive marketing.
I asked my mate to get me a 512gb extreme pro micro SD for £45 and not realising the difference but thinking he was saving me money on the same thing got me an extreme for £40. Watching this I don't feel so bad, the 60(ish)mb/a that I'm getting moving music and video from phone to card is acceptable if I would only be getting a 15mb/s (25%) faster. A 4 minute transfer would take 3 mins... Meh. Out of interest does the transfer speed slow as the card gets near to capacity the same way a router NAS drive does?
No limitation by the card reader. 85 MB/s write is pretty much the top what you will see with premium microSD cards. There is a reason (full size) SD Cards with 300 MB/s cost much more in the same storage size...
I'm not sure what you mean by Go. You might be thinking of the Lexar Play? My understanding of the Steam Deck is that it has a hard cap of what it's capable of, and you won't see any difference between the 2 cards in this video. For any small files I'd always go with the Extreme Pro, and for gaming you may actually encounter them.
Could be a fake, recently purchased an extreme 256g which i later confirmed it was fake after talking with Sandisk inc and sending them pics of the card to examine it
Thanks for the video. Which card do you think is best for DJI mini 3 pro drone? Regular extreme, pro, or endurance? I also found that pro 400gb is a lot more expensive than pro 512gb, which i can't wrap my mind around. Why?
@@distractor_beamreviews thanks!! In the end after watching different reviews and reading specs I think I'll go ahead with Kingston Canvas Go plus A2 V30. If you ever tried it, I'd be grateful to know your opinion. Thanks
Extreme. They are quite the same. And GoPros or drones use just a third (or a quarter or a seventh depend which gopro) of the write speed of both. And both guarantee the writing speed at least 30MBs (240Mbs), not less (V30).
it don't matter for testing as long as he used the same adapter for both cards. but yes less cable will be faster but hardly anything that would make a big deafferents
I got the extreme pro but mine the read on the package says "200mb/s" and the write is "140" however IDK the real numbers really 🤷🏻♂️ does anyone know?
High endurance nothing but toughness it can handle heat and drops very well. ExtremePro is top one which read speed goes upto 170mbps on correct device.
The proper answer:
You need the extreme Pro when live video recording at 4K 60 FPS.
You can use the non-Pro for 1080p videos without any problem.
Man, thank you so much🙏
Nobody can see your laptop's screen.. 🙄
So that you cannot confirm the bias opinion. 😅

I feel it's the adapter bottlenecking. It should different if it's inside the laptop/smartphone directly.
I was thinking the same
The adapters have no hinderace on transfer speeds
I think it would be better if Sandisks naming structure for speeds were: (Fast) MicroSD WOW; (Faster) MicroSD WOW WOW; (Fastest) MicroSD WOW WOW WOW.
Thank you so much for the benchmark tests.
Cardreader bottleneck?
Thank you very much, your test really helped me in choosing the product!
Why in the box is specified 140mbs in write when it write only at 80mbs??
Best comparison video ever.
Thanks a lot for you guidance, it clears my confusion.

Why not test the SanDisk Ultra?

Extreme plus is better in speeds and high price

Distractor_Beam What one would be best for mobile phone to store lots of music on ?
Extreme
extreme pro is good in android device? isaw its 4k recording video support and more fast write/read compare in non pro version
NOOOO Its your adapter, its must likely is not UHS-3 compatible so its maxing out at UHS-1
The cards hes using are UHS-1.
Which is better for a steam deck?
I only use the Extreme Pro for any equipment I care about.
I only get 12 mb/ps write on the extreme , why ...is it the card reader on my computer? I don't notice any difference from a cheap silicone power sd

Extreme pro. The price is likely due to the seller, but also make sure they're rated at the same speed.

The Sandisk Extreme Pro vs. The Sandisk High Endurance
High endurance nothing but toughness it can handle heat and drops very well. ExtremePro is top one which read speed goes upto 170mbps on correct device.
usb beans?
spot on!
For games, they are basically the same
For videos, the pro version are much better
👍🏻
The Extreme only is good for 1080p while the Extreme pro is meant for 4k
Thnks!
