    It would help if you say which direction the red tabs need to moved. I presume those are slid up before pressing in on the black locking tab.

    Thank you for the video
    My electrical system is going haywire. Causing the interior and exterior lights to go dim and bright over and over. Car seems like it wants to stall out also. The forms say that it's the computer. I have also changed out the alternator. So this is the last possibilty of the fault. Byw no check eng6lights are present.

      Dave Sylvia I’ve never flashed one; a dealership needs todo it unless you know someone with a device to program it. I wouldn’t think it should take long. Last I heard it costs about $80

    Does the immobilizer and ignition cylinder have to come from the donor car too??

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  5 лет назад

      Sergio Vasquez yes, but you will also need the key since that is what the immobilizer is reading. The chip in the key is read by the immobilizer and communicated back to the computer letting it know there is a match and the car can be started. The other option is to have the computer flashed (reprogrammed) and setup with a new immobilizer, key and vin.

    What do you know about 98 neons? Im having an issue with mine. It runs fine, itll idle all day. Once I start driving it, itll be fine for a day or two, then just die. If I let it sit, it start back up and run. The longer I let it sit, the better it does. I thought maybe it was the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail needing a new diaphragm, but it was suggested to me recently that it may be the ecu. Over heating and shutting it down, then after its sat, it cools and is fine again. Your thoughts?

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  2 года назад

      You mentioned it will run fine for a couple days. Is it taking a couple days to overheat? How are the RPMs looking while driving? Any engine codes?

    • @richardjoyner9266

      @@PhillipsVision once it runs, I drive it daily and then it just dies. Its a 5 speed and I have not noticed and rpm flucuations. Itll run, then itll stutter a big and then die. The check engine light isnt on, and I dont know if its throwing any codes. I can check it tomorrow though, I have a bosch code reader.

      Phillips Vision gear 2. I purchased the ECU online and they programmed it. I drove the car around just now and it changes gears sometimes but it will randomly stop shifting when I come to a stop and stay in gear 2

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  4 года назад

      Shadowmm1234 could be a transmission issue. Is it only getting stuck when you shift it or when you’re in drive and it is shifting through gears?

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  4 года назад

      Brittany Nelson it could be, but could also be a bad connection or broken wire. Before replacing the computer and having a new one flashed and/or corresponding components replaced I would make sure all connections for the power train are good.

    So my 05 neon has no crank, no start,. New battery, new battery cables, new starter. I have not replaced crank or camshaft sensors. Was this your issue that made you decide to change computer?

    • @PhillipsVision

      Jayson Barfield yes, but before you replace the computer check your starter wires. I had a similar situation but it was the harness that goes to the starter. Remove your starter and test it connected directly to the battery
