    I believe in constructive criticism so just a few thoughts. It would be better to vacuum or blow away with compressed air any dirt, dust or debri from around the injector ports prior to removing the injectors or rail, thereby greatly eliminating any chance that dirt, dust or debri could fall into the cylinders possibly causing other problems. If owners of this type of car do not have an air compressor they could use "air in a can" usually used for removing dust from electronic parts in say a older stereo receiver, amplifier, tuner, etc. They could also use hand held detail brushes in various sizes and stiffness to remove the dirt, dust, or debri from around the injectors where they insert into the intake manifold or cylinder. Another thought would be to apply smal film of the appropriate type of oil or grease to the o-ring on the injector being inserted into the fuel thereby making it easier to insert the injector into the fuel rail socket. Just I few tips I have useful performing this type of maintenance. Respectively, John C

    Very well done, thank you. All my questions on how to do this were answered. Now, onto my fuel injector replacement.

    Excellent video. My injector 1 is throwing a code and I just watched to refresh on how to take it apart. Very thorough and helpful. Subscribed and liked.

    Helpful video. Thanks for the inspiration. My 2005 Neon at 125K miles stutters bad at about 3-4 rpm. I changed spark plugs and plug wires, the coil block is fine. Rather than throwing more money at it, I researched how to test, clean, rebuild, etc. Very involved. These have the original injectors, so for less than 50$ each for new injectors, I'm just going to replace them and hopefully be done with this. I know it could be other things, but these probably need to be replaced anyway.

    I don’t know much what I usually do it take off the fuel pump fuse crank it a couple of time and that’s how I released the pressure like I said I don’t say this with any bad intention cause I’ve learn a lot from you and I’m starting mechanic

    Excellent video, it will help me a lot. I have a 2001 Neon 2.0 and I need to replace an injector. You mention that it needs to be purged. How do you purge it? thanks for your help

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  4 месяца назад

      When you prime your fuel pump (turning key “on” but not starting the car) you’ll build pressure and purge the air out. You can prime it a few time before actually starting it

    Why did you change them?
    My wife's 2003 neon check engine light keeps going on and off periodically. I found a misfire code. You can feel misfire when you first start car than it smoothens out after 5 to 7 seconds.
    Changed plugs, wires. Still happens so I am figuring can be injector. Cheap and easy enough to change.

      Kaitlyn cakes use a mallet with a flat head screw driver. Place the flat head in one of the groove and tap it until it starts to rotate

    Thank you for this video! I’ll be swapping the injectors on my ‘05 Neon next weekend because of your instructions. One question, I was thinking it would be smart to clean the inside of the fuel rail too... Is that ok to do? Maybe spray some Brake Cleaner through it or Carb Cleaner? I would hate for leftover debris to get into my new injectors. What do you think?

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  4 года назад +1

      Nathan Robinson I’ve never done that, but carb cleaner should be fine.

    • @PhillipsVision

      Are your RPMs dropping when you slow down? Is it sputtering as well when you slow down?

    • @jayrmcgillivary8319

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  3 года назад +1

      @@jayrmcgillivary8319 check your throttle body, it may have carbon build up. When those get dirty they will obstruct air flow, causing the vehicle to stall out when idling at low RPMs

    looks like you should have blown all the junk away from the fuel injectors with an air compressor before removal.
