    Should have followed the instructions exactly. Tried just changing my pressure regulator and broke the retaining clips off the top of the fuel pump. Now have to wait for new fuel pump and start over. 👏👏👏👏

    Is the process generally the same with the 2.4 turbo? Since it’s basically the same platform as the 2.0?

    This is a long shot but if you do see this, thanks for answering! Is there a chance that replacing the fuel pump will turn my EVAP light off? I have an 05 2.0l and have had everything on it but the fuel lines and the fuel pump changed and that light refuses to go off and stay off.
    Edit to add: They did a smog/smoke test on it and found that smoke was escaping from the canister behind my rear passenger wheel. That was replaced and the light came back on, so they replaced the one tucked in by my firewall and the light still came back on. No cracks or holes or anything in my fuel line and no smell of gas either

      In the past when I’ve has evap codes on vehicles it was the bolts on the exhaust manifold being loose or stripped

    Can’t you do it with out dropping the tank? I thought you could do it with the access port underneath the rear seat?

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  3 года назад

      There is no access port on this vehicle and the pump is side mounted. You can see it by looking under the rear passenger door but not enough clearance to remove it unless the tank is dropped.

      Daniel Lipe are you hearing the relay click? Have you checked the fuse? Normally it will prime when you turn the key to the “power on” position, not turn the engine over.

    So you cant replace just the Fuel filter/pressure regulator on this ?

    • @PhillipsVision
      @PhillipsVision  4 года назад +1

      Max G you can, just need to remove the sending unit and you can twist the filter/regulator off the top of the unit. It’s sometimes better to replace the entire unit because you get everything new for just a little more money

    Hey bud good video but just a word of advise don’t mean to offend or anything.
    The intro is way to long. If you check all other mechanic channels or even other type of channels there’s intro is only like 3 seconds or less long.
    More than that the viewer most likely just exit the video.
    Again I don’t mean it on a bad way. Good luck with your channel.
