You lack critical thinking. They want military and police contacts so it gonna be high. After the hype is gone the price will come down to normal RMR prices.

Nice to see trijicon finally catching up to Holosun 😂
Catching up? Nah, not even close.
Holosun is still far behind. Just because they put a cheap solar panel on top and make a bunch of models of the same design doesn't make them better. They're nice for the price but they can't match Trijicon's durability.

Msrp around $850. Minimum advertised pricing of around $650. In this market, that’s nuts.
@@assclapper2231Stop being a cuck for corporate executives who want bigger yachts.
Good to see Trijicon finally attempting to compete; however, that price is delusional. Double the competition for something barely on par? Reminds me of the RMRcc.
Brain dead take.
#1 The price will come down.
#2 It's most likely beyond on par just like the previous RMR (Durability, NV Performance, Longevity, etc)

Very excited. Thanks for the early review!
Ordered the HD last night Dave. Everything I've wanted from an RMR for my home defense "nightstand queen" Glock 19 with a WML no doubt. Thanks so much for your time and well thought out presentations. I really like my RM06 HRS, but this beats it hands down in almost every aspect. Well, maybe not aesthetically.. Ha! Keep on rock'n and stay safe. Thin blue line my brother.
Fat Bottom Girl
Everything i wanted from the rmr, too bad it wont be compatible with the calculated kinetics dogtag. Guess im sticking with the 508t
Nice detailed review and appreciate the coverage. As much as I want one i cant justify the price with other companies already doing some of the upgrades the RMR HD and RCR are doing. off topic, I noticed at 8:32 in the video your SRO has a BUIS notch. Is that a different model or an add on piece somehow? I have never seen that before.
I recently just bought the RMR04 (the dual illuminated) model. Really like it so far...
It's good to know good people. I was able to get this for $700 cash (no tax) and way ahead of actual release date. Very nice optic.
Shadow coming Monday but going to wait to get this HMR now that I backordered it to pair them and run it .
The rmr you were asking for at the price you can’t afford. Good job!
Why trust your life with a open emitter?
You can blow water off, mud will render it useless.
I’d prefer a us company, but holosun owns the pistol optic market right now.
50,000 hours battery life, solar fail safe if battery dies
Shake awake
3 reticles
Comes in green
Eps carry is closed emitter and literally half the price with all of these features.
As far as the dot, I like to run mine where in dark areas the dot goes away and I just use my night sights. They are easy to see the tritium. And the dot fights them for attention.
We need a company to make a prism optic for people with astigmatism.
I’m left handed so for holsters, I’m usd to making it work.
For my echelon I have a de santis kydex with blade tech clip mounts so I can use the locking clips or the iwb clips.
Sometimes you just gotta grab a torch and drill and hope for the best. 😂
So you don't trust an open emitter optic but you'll trust a chinese optics shake awake feature? This new rmr has 4-6 years of battery life so no need for a shake awake feature. The price will come down, the type-2 was $800 when it first came out too. Also closed emitters have their share of problems. P2s, EPSs, and 509s have been found to have moisture inside the lens and have durability issues.
I don't think a prism optic on a handgun would work. The eye relief would have to be magical far.
Great review. Appreciate you being unbiased. Also, thank you for not reading the specs and saying you did a review. 😂. I’m definitely coming here first when you have a new product review.
What about racking a round using the housing with the forward facing sensor ?
Great features, but that is a steep price, I would like to see a model with just a dot and button lockout. Kinda like what holosun did with the 407c and 507c. I would pay sro prices for an rmr with holosun features. Great first look Dave!
Fuck yeah finally!!! Just in time for my local gun show!
I’ll hold out for the closed emitter variant. Not enough for me here to warrant swapping out my Type 2 Adjustable RMR’s just yet. Looking forward to watching Aaron abuse these beyond belief over on his channel though. Side note, my Holosun EPS that’s been living on my current EDC has thoroughly impressed me to actually warrant trusting the company. Solid pricing as well.

@@MrLucht SROs have only come back in stock and not back ordered the last couple of months. I personally knew people who sold their SRO for $700+ back when demand was crazy only like a year ago.

Always enjoy the content!, looks like a nice Optic with lots of options. I do think the msrp. We'll scare some people off.
The people who need it will buy it. Sounds like a NV dream. The foward brightness sensor would be great for NV transitioning from low light (ir) to bright light. (white, inside a building)
Now there is a chance of buying a RMR, good job Trijicon
For 850? Thanks but 407c and more ammo is a better choice
@@gansior4744 definitely won’t be paying $850 for it.
@@gansior4744 The price will come down and the rmr will outlast any holosun. So if you want longevity Trijicon if you want cheap but usable Holosun.
I think people are gonna buy this in droves…cuz they’re fans of trijicon and have a certain bias. But anyone who is more objective (and maybe value minded) probably won’t make this their first choice when there are others that offer more for less. Thanks for the first look! Really want to hear more about their enclosed optic!
Yea I’m not paying the price of another gun for a optic or wmL
They are completely out of touch. This thing is still about 5 years behind the curve.
Trijicon is turning into the Apple of the optics world.
I like trijicon, I own 4 or 5 RMRs, I own an ACOG, and several sets of there night sights... and I wouldn't buy that at half the MSRP.
This is the type of stupid that turns me away from a company... Incorporate features that other manufacturers have had, rearrange a few things, call it new and improved, and jack up the price...
Nah, this is just going to keep pushing people into Holosun. Which is where I've been heading for the last year or so.
@@joeytomato I think that’s a great comparison and in many ways, I think Glock falls in the same category. They don’t innovate, they tend to rest in their one flagship product/platform and just think that people will be satisfied. Sorry but as a consumer, I want people to fight for my business so I appreciate and will go towards companies like Holosun cuz of the value and willingness to push for more.
@@artimla492They don’t innovate as fast, rushing product to market which imo maintains their reputation as an industry standard in reliability. They made changes from RMR 1 to 2 and don’t make gimmicks like solar power and they continue to work.
In your continued use, do you find that the additional overhang of the new RMR causes any ejection related issues with Staccato? I'm getting my first Staccato soon and that's my only concern with this optic, it's very close to the ejection port
How is this for people who have an astigmatism. Does the 1 moa starburst less or bloom more than the 3.25 MOA at high brightness settings?
I'm not sure how I like the glass pushed forward like the SRO. It just puts the glass closer to the exhaust from the ejection port and prohibits the use of forward irons just to allow for a top-load battery which isn't really a big deal. And for $800... Man, Trijicon is really banking on the fanboys to come through in this market where you can already get a reliable red dot with all of these features for $200.
How deep can u go on a slide before the over hang hits on a sro or rmr hd? Or is each slide slightly different?
Solid review. Speaking for myself, if the price comes down to about $600-ish I might be interested in this or the RCR. Otherwise I'll just buy an Acro P2 or a 508T if I need to stick with the RMR footprint. It is good to see Trijicon listening to their customers and following the current trends though.
Only took them like 3 years ...and even then, they didn't give us the RMR we wanted, they just hacked up an SRO... And nearly doubled the price.
"Current trends" for Trijicon is what everyone else has been doing for 5 years or more.
This thing is hours old... And already getting roasted all over the internet.
the price is 600
@@ro794 That would be awesome if it was true, but the MSRP of both of the RMR HD and the RCR is $849.
Will this work on Staccato CS. All the plates are the same. Just wondering about the overhang?

I'm not sure as if I don't have many, if any, guns with those notches. Ill see what I've got
I hope the new RMR fits the old original RMR's footprint.
I talk about that in the video 🙂
I just saw... thanks @@GunsandTactics
It does but it doesn’t
Oh, I'm definitely going to get one of these. I have a G17 I was just planning on getting milled for an RMR. I love my RM06 and this looks like a good upgrade.
Side note: I just replaced the battery on mine(after 2 years of constant on use, the battery was still functioning but I decided to replace it) and I didn't even have a zero shift. I've heard some have but I did not in this particular instance.
EDIT: Wait, they're coming out with a closed emitter version that also fits the RMR footprint...!
SIGs glass is the right approach. EVERY red dot optic needs to start using aspherical lenses. There is zero distortion/magnification on my 4T. Puts my MRO to shame in every way.
$850? Does the dot scratch my back? No chance, less than zero.
Street price is lower
I kind of want to run this ragged ln my 11.5 SBR LW
I was thinking about considering this new version RMR, as the old one didn't seem worth it. But hearing that the price is going to be that much more? That's gunna be a hard pass.... 😮💨
We probably won't see the Sage Dynamics video for a while.
Which milling package is that from Danger Close Armament?
On the Glock, the stable, and the slide was all done by danger Close. Tell them I sent you they will take great care of you.
Cool optic! I wanted one until you mentioned the price - 😳!!!
Not a knock against Trijicon at all. I have a couple RMRs, but for me it’s simple economics. I had much rather buy American, but until we bring back an industrialized America where wages stabilize themselves more equal to American product prices, it’s really hard to justify this optic over some of the Holosun products. I wish that I could.
Hopefully prices on the type 2 drop. I'm fine with the type 2
I feel like Trijicon has waited to long ! The market has shifted
Holosun comp took the win for these pitol dots
Where can you get one ?
Literally just purchased a Walther PDP Pro SD Compact two days ago for 851.87 AFTER taxes. This MSRP being 850 is fucking nuts Trijicon. C'mon.
So it's just a square SRO? 🤔 How much does it cost? 😐
Trijicon took way too long to push this out. Holosun EPS green dot all day long and with a price that is reasonable.
plus the eps doesnt need suppressor height sights 👍
@@poortac5568 True that:)
Im in Florida, and certian parts of the year rain is unavoidible. Also, it's humid here all of the time. Saltwater is an issue, sweat, etc, etc. I've lost an SRO, several Holosuns, and a delta point to moisture. Having to take the optic off to change the battery every other year is a small price to pay to ensure I have a worked red dot. Nothing seals like the bottom Oring gasket on my type II RMRs, and RMRcc. Openings in the top of the optic is a non-starter, as always people fail to grasp that things are engineered the way they are for a reason.
That’s interesting and always love hearing from others. My SROs and others have been super wet, even underwater once and through the winters with no issues from battery cap so long as it was sealed correctly. We did see some DPP leak during heavy rain at a class and an acro fog.
Now can they update the acog or someone make an add on that increases the eye releif
I think they can fit the 6x magnification inside the 3.5x model with best eye relief
Honestly I don't get the pricing, how do they expect to be competitive in such a crowded market for pistol red dots especially with the fact that Holosun has beat them to the punch with everything and keep innovating much faster than Trijicon, they are just so late to the party and with that price point I don't even see them as being relevent.
Holosun still better in every way I feel. RCR looks sick tho
Basically an optic for the super rich or tacticool crowd. Most people will opt for the Holosun variant in my view, these prices are clinically insane.
It's for people who actually need it's feature set. NV users. People who need durability out of an optic.

Nope not how it works. I can’t pay my bills with products or feed my family, sponsorship is paid partnerships, like the ones I disclose.
I get so much stuff here that I either turn back, make an honest, but negative review or simply decline so anybody sending me an item to evaluate is just part of my job and not a sponsorship. I don’t look at any of it as “mine” as it’s the subject of a project or a tool to do my work. I’ve gotten firearms worth a lot of money and if it’s a turd I call it out.
If I am doing a sponsored paid piece you’ll know it, but I’ll still be upfront and honest about it.
Everyone complaining about price are also the same people who have 5 of the same gun with the same cheap parts and never shoots any of them but will say nothing broke for them so the cheap parts are just as good.
Maybe the standard RMR price will drop 😆 these 2 had to come out right when I'm looking for a new optic
I'm hoping they will
They did already, a certain company is selling them for $449 cheapest I have seen yet, I'm debating this or the new one or SRO all together
Just because of the audacity of that price tag after not making a new RMR since 2009… I HOPE holosun just comes out of no where with some new innovation to compete with this at sub $500
Is there something wrong with you people? Can you not think critically? The RMR Type-II was $800 when it came out and then went to $629 and the average price instores was usually cheaper than that.
Looks chunky, like a square SRO
I’m good on optics till they get it together definitely overpriced but if ppl stop wanting to impress the next man the good budget stuff could get shine…I don’t care what folks say about the dragonfly that came with my Prodigy gun runs perfectly as is so I’m gonna keep the gun as Springfield intended
Trijicon should revamp their RnD team. Nothing new here. Looks like a flatten MRO.

I really don't like the overhang. Optics should not be larger than their footprint, that's why it's called a footprint. If I wanted to custom mill a slide and seat the optic really deep into that slide, like I could with the RMR Type 2, I can't now because of that overhang. That alongside the price, and this just doesn't compare to the Leupold DPP or Holosun EPS.
They should've released this around the same time they released the SRO. Open emitter optics are a thing of the past.
You’re out of your mind.
No they aren't
A good machinist can probably mill that ridge into a front blade and rear notch sight. 🤷🏻♂️
Or for a third that cost, you can just put a set of suppressor height sights on your pistol... And not need a sight 2 inches above bore.
ACOGs have sights on top, because you can't see under them... If the RMR isn't working, just look thru it. Sights on top of a pistol mounted MRD is... Umm... Useless .

Edit: in the beginning, you spoke what has been clear to many for quite some time; they’re stale. And after watching your presentation (which was great btw) I observed that they remain stale. These designs and functions are already widely available and have been for a good while. I imagine like many giants they will just live off the name they built for a little while and let innovation slip on by. I mean, why take costly risks when you already have a profitable company
The RMR T3 is just them playing catch-up to the market and correcting the numerous criticisms/shortcomings of the Type 2. The changes are just things Trijicon could have done 5 years ago. The RCR is the actual innovation product here, as I think the future of duty-grade MRDS are going to be in sealed/contained units like the ACRO, MPS, 509, and now RCR.
I’m sure it’s good but not for that price. Trijicon needs to get real. You can buy three Holosuns for that price.

Everyone needs to recognize that the Trijicon Optics are more expensive than the Chinese Optics because the American worker is receiving a decent wage, stop comparing the two where price is concerned, support your American worker, not those who are trying to take your country over.
All most Americans care about these days is money. I get that we want to get the most bang for our buck but we are shooting ourselves in the foot. I'd rather save up, wait and buy an RMR than have instant gratification and support the CCP. Plus Trijicon is leaps and bounds ahead of Holosun in terms of ruggedness, quality and customer service. Buy once, cry once is my philosophy.
