Man, happy trijicon finally started updating their lineup of dots. Holosun has been making some cool stuff but they do have some issues I've witnessed first hand. Enclosed emitter dots getting moisture inside (509t), an open emitter holosun having the battery tray fly out of the gun after a screw snapped, etc. Not saying trijicon is perfect (had to send a battery powered acog into them for warranty). But I definitely trust em way more than holosun.
Zeroing Procedures 25 Yard Zero Center the aiming dot on a 25 yard target and fire a precise shot group (minimum 3 rounds). Evaluate location of shot group compared to your Point of Aim (POA). Adjust the windage and elevation, and shoot another series of shots until the center of the shot group is on the center of your POA. This establishes the POA as the Point of Impact (POI) for the bullet. 1 MOA = 1 click, which provides about 1 inch shift in bullet impact at 100 yards or ¼ inch per click at 25 yards.

Then when I shoot again will it save my last settings or do I have to change this each time I go shooting. The comments on this are ridiculous. once you setup the dot your going to leave in the configuration you have it in for anything serious. It's not like you have to use all the new features, you can turn off the segmented circle and manually adjust the brightness like an RMR and engage lockout whenever you feel the need to. The optic can only fit 2 buttons, if you think you can do better then by all means get to work.

@@M1911jln Bullshit. I have 20/20 vision and the RMR (especially the early ones) were well known for having the "splatter" dot issue. This was part of the reason for the development of the SRO, which eliminated that issue for that model.

I use 8moa dots and have a gnarly astigmatism and still shoot M class in USPSA. If you hold a camera to a red dot it will apear perfectly crisp, but if you look through it yourself it may look splattery/bursting/smearing/etc. that is your eyes and an astigmatism.

Trijicon didn’t make it abundantly obvious in this video or anywhere else I’ve seen how much it overhangs or how far back your slide cut has to be from the ejection port. And I say this as an owner of an HD as well as plenty of standard RMR’s. The HD is fantastic, and I would buy 10 more. But it definitely doesn’t fit on several of my RMR slides, not even close.

Correct? That's a preference. Most Mil/LE guys I know run irons behind glass. Would you shoot a carbine length weapon with irons in front of glass? No. You want the longest sight radius possible.

Neither company has the best track record when it comes to QC, I'm currently on my third SRO (previous two had unusable artifacts on the lens at brighter settings), and an old ACOG that doesn't adjust windage unless it's banged against something.

My argument is that this interface has too many modes where you press and hold the buttons, then you are in this mode or that mode. You won't be able to remember that, so you'll need to refer to the manual to adjust it. I don't have any problem reading the manual when setting up the optic for the first time. I have a problem with an optic that is so unintuitive that I have to repeatedly refer to the manual. Think about an Aimpoint H1. Once you've zeroed it, all you need to do is adjust the brightness, and you don't have to dig out the manual to figure out how to do that.
