Hey Leon, awesome stuff. Thank you for the feedback. Appreciate it big time. Let me know if there’s other videos I might have missed that you’d find helpful 🙏
The Sigma 16mm lens will be ok. There is a heavy crop though so you might need some wider like the 10-18mm. But anything 16mm or wider will be good. The aperture defines the amount of blur. So 1.8 or thereabouts will give you lots of blur.
Hello Vic, I'm most likely going to buy the ZVE-10 soon but still I'm a tad hesitant because of the poor stabilization. I hate the thought of purchasing the camera then, Sony comes out with a new updated version that include a fix for the stabilization. What would you recommend? Love your channel by the way👍👍
Hey Derek, I'd hold off for a few weeks. Rumors floating about point to a new Sony camera being announced (Sony ZV-E1 maybe) towards the end of the month. Generally speaking, Sony cameras have never had amazing stabilization historically speaking. The Sony ZV-1 is definitely one of the better ones. But that aside, it's not a huge issue to deal with either as it can be fixed in post (which is painful I know) but the easiest fix is to reduce the amount of movement the camera is doing, so depending on what you're shooting, it could well be perfect!
@@VicBarry Thank you Vic, I feel good taking your advise to "hold off for a few weeks" or even into the summer. I have a gut feeling hunch, your right! 👍👍
@@derekhorsburgh6238 Weeell, unless you are ready to spend 2000$ you might as well buy zv-e10 now, the zv-e1 is much more expensive, but it does fix the problems of zve-10.
Depends what type of video you're filming. I do almost exclusively tripod videos, and it works fantastic for those. For run & gun shooting? It's awful!
Hi Vic, I am new to this Camera - You mentioned in an earlier video about changing PAL To NTC - It seems a better option but will it not cause distortion in lighting here in Ireland because the power is different thank in ther US? Can I get away with using NTC and will it dunction well on articicial light outside or inside? 2) What atre the comparable settings for slow motion on NTC and PAL. Is there a way I can keep my sound by finding a different way to use slow motion by not using the SIQ button. Thank you.
Hey Brendan, it very much depends on the type of light to be honest. Some will flicker like crazy others won’t. Regardless you’ll record video anyway. Slow motion in ntsc is 120fps and pal is 100. S&Q mode doesn’t record audio. Just bump up the frame rate in the video settings in normal video recording, but to get 120/100 you’ll have to be in 1080p
im having a hard time with the focus settings, ive tried a bunch of different settings but when i showcase something and put it away from the camera it doesn't follow the focus, or it focuses on the wrong part of the frame and makes the important part blurry.. any ideas?
So would you rather use shutter priority or intelligent auto? Also a auto video would be a great video idea for the zve10 because everyone preaches manual but most people are lazy
For most situations I'd just use shutter priority. Intelligent Auto is something I haven't really used to be honest, and I'm sure it's fine. But once it starts messing around with shutter speeds then you run the risk of the footage getting stuttery or laggy, depending on the lighting scenario. Manual IS the way to go, but again, it comes down to what you're trying to deliver to an audience ultimately. In most cases, I reckon nobody cares what mode it's being shot on. But pushing things to manual gives people a better understanding of what does what so when things aren't working out for one reason or another, they do have a good insight into whats happening.
Help me Vic!!! I just purchased an FX-3 and an FX-30 for a major client I just picked up. I'm using them for color grading with that sweet 10bit footage. BUT you keep me grounded. STORY FIRST. Thank you for putting my feet back on the ground. :). Thanks buddy and love your channel. :)
I wish they'd let us disable the automatic portrait video mode 🤦 Sometimes it gets confused about it's orientation and shoots in portrait mode, which comes out in a lower resolution and with awful exposure.
Vic ya nailed that one like usual. 👍 what is your favorite lens with the ZV? Like a lot of viewers I am contemplating 🤔... and then heard about the new apsc line (rumored).
I have an issue with my sony zv e10. When I attach my external monitor (free world), the soft skin effect becomes disabled on the camera. This is for video. Any tips? I can’t find anyyyything about this. Thank you!
Nice vid, but I have One question, if Lens declared for APSC, it still gonna be 1x4 crop ? I mean 24mm FOR APSC lens will be 24 or it will be 33mm even if it says this lens for APSC ?
Hey Eligijus, it’s always going to have the crop. The actual size of the lens is the difference as well. Because you can put a full frame lens on an apsc camera but the other way round, while you can, there is some serious vignette. Hope this helps
We got this camera a couple months ago. The autofocus seem to always get confused with the background - things keep getting in and out of focus. Problem goes away if I go to manual focus, instead of continuous AF. Any idea what setting is causing this?
Might be worth digging into the focus settings and looking for sensitivity. I no longer have this camera so I can’t be sure but if I remember there is focus sensitivity settings. Also worth looking at the focus tracking and what it’s enabled for (human, bird etc) But if it’s happening with you or a person in shot then it’s a sensitivity issue and possibly a lighting issue.
Hi Vic. Glad to find your channel. I have this camera but I don’t really know well about this camera. I use it on Intelligent Video Mode and it doesnt allow me to change the Focus Mode. I tried all the Video Modes but none of them allow to change the Focus Mode. The problem is the AFC makes the focus keeps running when I shoot in the crowd with many people moving. Please help me. Thank you
@@VicBarry Hi Vic. I don’t really know at all about camera so I just use in Intelligent Video Mode. However, it doesnt allow me to change the Focus Mode from AFC to the other modes. I think the camera doesnt allow the to change the focus mode when making the video so it is automatically set up in AFC which makes me hard to get my videos focus with all faces in the crowd or everything on the screen. It’s because AFC makes the focus search a moving object or a closer one. I hope I you can understand my explanation
"1.5x crop factor Nikon, Fujifilm, Sony and Pentax APS-C sensors have a 1.5x crop factor, while Canon APS-C sensors have a 1.6x crop factor. Therefore, the 100mm lens mentioned above gives you an equivalent of either 150mm or 160mm on an APS-C camera - you simply multiply the focal length by the crop factor for the camera sensor" - Vic in Dallas 😎
that grain below you monitor on the right, how do i get rid of that? i'm using a zve10 with a Viltrox 13mm F1.4 and still experiencing that grain in dark parts even with ISO 100

Hey there, glad to hear you've got to grips with the Sony ZV-E10. This issue is very much down to a personal choice / perception. Not sure I can help here, but, if it's crowded (street photography is great btw) during the day, go out at night for some night photography (long exposure etc) - Back to street photography for a second though. The Sony ZV-E10 will take any E Mount lens or others with adapters so there's a great opportunity to capture your city from a distance. That's an option. A crowded city street is absolutely full of stories. From street vendors to taxi drivers to people drinking coffee. Do time lapses. Do short form videos on the people in the city. Do something with what's in front of you. At the very least practice composition and layout for photos and video. What is worthy of taking a photo of? What is worthy of taking a video of? That's very much a personal choice and it's definitely something that not everyone will agree with. Sure, we can all say "I wanna shoot something cool" but a lot of the time "something cool" is very much subjective. Let me know if this helps

I guess we will see the same title of the E1. I can count on that
The kit lens at 16mm have different backgrounds distortion then sigma 16mm ? Even though the focal length is the same ?
The Sigma is a faster lens. The aperture is 1.4 so more bokeh than the kit lens which from memory has an aperture of 3.5
