This was a great video, Gabriel! I use ZV-E10 and use PP8 since I have the right LUTS to colour correct, however, I am going to try the PP off and give this a shot. Love what you did!
Hey! Thank you, my friend! It depends on how far you want to go with your color grading. For talking head videos, I don't see the point in adding more steps to the process. Glad you like my videos :) Thank you!
Hi Gabriel, I'm so glad I found you and your amazing content. Thank you for all you share. Please consider making a video on how to set up with zv E10 when less space is available. I have only 6 feet backdrop width, and only the kit lens. Can you help? Any suggestions? Ty
Hey! Thank you! Glad you like my videos 🙋🏻♂️🤗 I have exactly what you need: ruclips.net/video/5nB4WF6EhqA/видео.htmlsi=sfhjH1qG4z6abUun Let me know how if it works :)
@GabrielVIP si si si , I followed your steps and my videos now look sooo much better, thank you. Only 2 issues 1. I use a dark deep purple backdrop any suggestions how to bring its color a bit more out without showing creases??? I like that it is almost seen as black, I added a light behind my chair ( instead of headlight above me) so some of the light hits the background and shows the purple. I would want a bit more of the color but if I hit it directly small creases show. 2. When recording zoom meetings to cloud to vimeo the video quality is so bad. I tried both 4k and HD, unfortunately looks equally bad. Any suggestions on how to get better quality? My network is strong, that's not the issue. Thank you in advance ☺️
Thank you so much man! Finally someone who didn´t make things to complicated. And a big thumb up for explanation the way zebra works! Couldn´t find a video better than this. Awesome! 🥳
I followed your advice regarding zebra from a few videos ago, and I think they've improved in quality massively. Thanks. I think I'm doing alright with colour grading, but I'd love your take.
Great tips for this little camera as always. I truly don't ever want to color grade. Editing anything is my least favorite thing to do. I also follow Markus Pix and his philosophy is to get the shot right so you don't have to edit or color grade. Just get good lighting, good exposure and have it set from the start. All this talk about cine and slog etc is for people trying to sound smart and its never actually needed! Set the shot right and save yourself tons of time!
This is true. This is the reason why I made 3-4 tutorials about settings. If you set your camera right improvements in post are optional. You don't like this step but many creators want to improve just a little bit. And if you learn how, it's simple and fast :) Thank you my friend :)
Thanks Gabriel your videos have been a huge help. I've had my ZV-E10 for a few months and am experimenting to get the "look" I want. I also vote for a colour grading tutorial. One thing I struggle with in post, is know how much saturation to use. I don't want my images looking too flat and greyed out, but also don't want them looking too psychedelic :-) . I'm trying to get the balance right.
Glad you like it! I am working on that video about how I correct my image :) It's not an exact science so don't worry too much about the saturation. Let it be as natural as you can. Try to make things like in real life. Trust your eyes 😁
please which lens would you recommend per your experiences for the sony zv-e10. i will mostly use for taking head videos, recording in person podcast and remote as well. thank you
Hey! I reccomend this one: Sigma 16 mm f1.4: amzn.to/48uFr5L You can watch these videos to see examples: - ruclips.net/video/te1L669d7Uc/видео.htmlsi=GvgxTGv5jCDhKsxg - ruclips.net/video/ngGbhSNZvjo/видео.htmlsi=hp1Sj1uOwBmbwa7t
A great video Gabriel, can I ask, if I'm using my ZV E10 as a webcam with the Elgato Camlink, should my settings be the same as the settings you suggest in your video, Top ZV E10 Settings? I'm also using the Sigma 16mm lense...
Hey. Yes, absolutely. keep the same settings, I recommend to use 24 or 25 fps for that and is you need more light on zoom just increase the ISO a little bit until you like how it looks. Thank you!
Hi. I noticed that you refer to your Sigma 16, f1.4 lens often, I wonder what you think about the default ZVE10 lens 3.5-5.6 16-50. when it comes to talking head videos, what do you think of it? thanks
Hey! Yes, I like this lens because it's great if you don’t have big, huge lights, the blur it's beautiful and the autofocus it's perfect. The kit lens is good but not like This one. I have a dedicated video on this subject if you want to hear my full opinion: ruclips.net/video/eWFEPZTae3A/видео.html
Would you consider doing a video with an ATEM Mini ISO? I’m building out a podcast setup and just starting out. When I’m in video mode on the ZVE10, the live video feed cuts out but not in Picture mode.
@@GabrielVIP thanks for the reply! One thing I did was on the hdmi resolution setting on the camera, I changed it to “auto” instead of 2160 and the screen came back up! I’m assuming this happened because the ATEM only supports 1080p.

@@GabrielVIP Means for proper video we need to set everything like all lightning , zebra settings it take to much time for solo creator. Is their any short solution??
@@C-AnilM But you set them once if you shoot in the same spot and keep them like that. Set Zebra at 70 and keep it like that all the time for talking head videos. Adjust just the ISO to reach the correct level. It takes 1 minute. You can do it Auto if you want faster but the image can change when you record if you move.
If you shoot outside you can use Slog2 or S Cinetone. Picture profile is not just for Talking head videos. It really depends of your needs. But for this kind of application you don't need something complicated.

Thanks Gabriel... very helpful, will re- adjust my settings as I've never used the Zebra lines for exposure on my ZV-E10...👍

Thank you so much. I appreciate your support :)
I've been using HLG3 with a specific LUT in post. If I dont use any picture profile I assume I dont need any LUTS? Just minor color adjustments?
Hey! Yes, if you turn off picture profile you don't need any conversion lut.
Would you consider doing a video with an ATEM Mini ISO?
I’m building out a podcast setup and just starting out. When I’m in video mode on the ZVE10, the live video feed cuts out but not in Picture mode.
Hey! I don’t use that device but I will think about it. And also I will check why the camera screen turns off. I never had this problem.

@gilbertjacinto Ooh! Glad you solved it. It is a possibility. I will check to know for sure! Thank you 🤗
When PP7 is off, does the Phantom Luts make any sense though?
Hey, I never tested it. I can’t give you a response but I will check about it.

I have my lights set to 6000k and also the Camera at 6000k white balance and its really orange looking... any ideas?
Hmmmm. Are you sure you don't have some effect activated? Look? LUT? something?
Zebra at 70% is the best It Is 8bit and at higher you squeeze the dinamic
Yeah! For me at 70% on 8bit works the best :) Thank you!
What about when it's out door
Hey! I don’t use it outdoors. I am oriented to talking head videos.
Mk-II has better image stabilization so… outdoors it's recommended :)
Means you Taking 20 min everytime to check the condition?
I feel this is critical
20 minutes to check the condition? I don't understand 😁

Why is your head hair looking red
I have an orange RGB light there :))
Much easier than hair dye… brilliant. Great video as well
Do u speak French?
Hey! No!
Why do you have to talk for 3 minutes to suggest turning off pp. Doesn't make sense
Clearly you know how to shoot and what those do. But many beginners need more information, to understand the whole picture.
@@GabrielVIP sorry. I think I was rude. I am a beginner. Thank you for your help. I appreciate it.
