Thank you again for an excellent complete teaching video lesson. I know from the hissing sound you had a pretty good idea what the problem was, but you guided us through it step by step. Thank you again
Love the videos! Thank you for being such a good teacher! I do have one observation about the oil leak... Not sure if the customer ended up replacing the turbo, but I doubt that was the source of the oil. I would check the Crank Case valve on the back side of passenger valve cover. The turbo sucks the oil vapors right into the charged air system. The PCV (or whatever Mercedes calls it) is a terrible design. I have a 2012 aprinter 3.0 and I had to install a good oil separator (ProVent 200) and it works great to keep the oil out of the air system. Hope that helps someone. Thanks again for the awesome, well done videos!
This is exactly what my Dodge Van 2007 2500 is doing lag of power specially on the hill. Mechanic told me the intake Manifolds are bad need to be replaced and is gonna be extremely expensive to fix. Made me wanna give up my Van. I will be checking for hose cracks, hopefully is the some diagnose problem
Thank you for excellent content how i wish you were in South Africa cause im having an issue with my 2017 hyundai Tucson 1.6 turbo. it got tested and gave the p0299 i took it in and i they changed the turbo still having the problem then they said i must buy the boost solenoid valve i did that my car is still loosing power especialy going up a hill this is frustrating. Thanks for the content.
i Saw alot of ur videos ,i liked them when u do with lapscoup ... i have a mercedes sprinter B W906 2014 3.5 T 95 KW Twinturbo The Problem is when you start the engine at the first second the RPM rises to 4000 without touch gas pedal . and the blue smoke coming OUT from rear vane. i hope u can answer me as soon as posible please i will be thankfull .....
Could you please tell me which scan tool you use to read Mercedes codes? I’ve taken my 2010 van to a couple of local shops and they’re unable to read the codes except for P0299.
Hello my Friend ! thanks for sharing these experiences . i have a 2015 mercedes sprinter 3.0L that has no trouble code whatsoever and seem to drive normal . however i did notice my DEF fluid tank still full and never added any to it even though i drove this van over 800 miles . based on this what could be wrong here thank you !
Hey, my 2008 sprinter has the same problem. I checked the leaks with a smoke machine but couldn't find it. Cleaned the throttle body and all the sensor and intercooler as well. It works well. When u start after 30 seconds, it goes to limp mode again. If u driving on freeway and clear code while driving, the turbo starts working again, and when u stop and drive again, it goes to limp mod again, especially when you go uphill. Can you plz help me out with the low boost problem. The Airfilter is new as well.
@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Even the turbo actuator is new, and I did the actuation test with the autel scanner it opens and close. Live data shows at idle the the boost is 900 something below 1000 range and it's in red writing. I dnt know if the boost sensor on the throttle body is giving the wrong reading or what else could be the problem. I'm very tensed. I spend so much time fixing it, but bad luck
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair I know but I am not a well known tech like you. It was an awesome experience. I saw all the other stars Oz, Mario, Sadel, Keith, Brandon to name a few.
I just want to tell you guys who are looking into this fault what I found that isn't addressed in any of the YT videos. One of the core tubes on my intercooler was split open. I think somehow moisture collected and froze over winter bursting the tube. I found it when I saw a fine coating of oil around the bottom of the intercooler. Super easy to remove and replace compared to other components on the Sprinter.
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair I looked at a lot of videos but never saw one on the intercooler. Sorry for the assumption about it not being addressed before. BTW, your videos are great, they helped me a lot narrowing down the problem!
Hi there, man from the UK here with a problem. I have a 2011 Mercedes Sprinter with the 3.0 V6 (OM642) with auto box. I've watched hundreds of videos and you see to know more than anyone else. My turbo appears to boost and blow apart the seal from aluminium pipe from the resonator? I've changed the PCV and the 4 seals from the intake to turbo, the Green O Ring, the large black seal on the resonator and the black O ring on the back side of the resonator, as thought this was causing the limp mode and EML. All straps, bolts are in place and rock solid when I reseat everything. But on a rest drive the 'pop' is heard and the large black seal separates. Seems to move upwards a bit, like an opening draw bridge? I've seen this problem on a few videos, but no one knows what the problem is. Can't be a leak, so could it be a blockage further down stream? Fingers crossed this is a known issue, with a fix. Great that you are teaching your nephew. Kind Regards from the UK.
Vince and Winnie Glad to know that you are watching from the UK, make sure there is no blockage on the induction system but if it keeps happening turbo is most likely leaking oil causing the black seal to get slippery and pushed out!!
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Even though its a 2011, it's only done 62,000 miles. Plus it was a London Police riot van that was serviced without expense being spared. There is some oil, bit that appears to be the normal amount, especially as I changed the PCV to the updated version. My worry is a blockage further along the system, causing back pressure and blowing at the only place that could be called a weak point? Do intercoolers get blocked, or is there something the other side that could have failed? I'll have to check if a mechanic left a rag I'm the induction pipe or something? It's been 5 months of searching so far. EML with limp mode in auto, but OK when using manual modes. Now the EML doesn't come on, nor the limp mode, but still seems to be too much pressure? I'm told they have a redesigned resonator at Mercedes, but would the resonator itself cause back pressure? I can see this having to go to a Mercedes main dealer to sort out, as I'm running out of ideas. Thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated.
