I think the correct term is honestly priced GPS. Bicycle product manufacturers have unrealistically overcharged product prices.

it's a small market and small volumes and prices as such, the Chinese spend zero in advertising and minimal r&d by borrowing what already works.

I'm just shopping for my first bike GPS and always looking for a cheaper alternative to Garmin. But when it comes down to it, Amazon has already had the 540 on sale for $400. The BSC300 is definitely cheaper at $225, but if I'm going to have the unit for 4-5 years (hopefully), I'd rather pay the extra $175 and have Garmin's maps, free ride climb pro and the mapping capability of Garmin Connect, not to mention proper customer support. I also get an out front mount and charging cable with the 540, things I'd have to buy separately with the IGPS, further reducing the price differential.

Hi! Great video, glad i found this, im glad you posted about downloading local maps from their website.
, I took a ridewith my IGPSPORT BSC300 yesterday, all my stats were pretty on point for my Mountain Biking which is whst I'll use including elevation gain, riding time, elapsed time, speed, cadence, but my miles seemed a bit short on a route I've done a lot before using my phone or smart watch to track. After watching another video, someone recommended downloaded the local maps from their website to the unit via USB, hoping this will fix that problem because after I downloaded the local maps I went into the unit and found my recorded activity under Navigation & activities and the mileage seemed more accurate (about 3 miles more than original recording).
So make sure if you get the BSC 300 to download the maps from your area to the unit itself before riding. It did not want to pair with my galaxy watch to keep track of my HR which is a bummer so i might end up buying their HR monitor down the road.

Well I am using Bryton devices since I started with cycling in 2018. and I am very happy with their app, features and device battery life. I have Bryton Rider 420 and it's similar to igpsport BSC200, it has monochrome display but it's battery can last for couple of weeks if you ride a bike 2-3 time per week. Now I am thinking about getting Bryton Rider 750 SE which is not top of the line device but it has color touchscreen and many advanced features, battery life is 20 hours. And the main thing it costs the same as garmin 530 but it has bigger screen, better battery life and better app to set it via phone. BTW I am using Magene HRM armband and it is great device too. I has one neat feature, if the pulse goes to 180 or higher it wibrates 5 times in row to warn you that you will die soon :D

Ive been using the IGS20E (very basic model) for about 7 years. It was only about £40 but it does everything I need (keep track of rides for strava) & its very small. Never runs out of battery.
It doesn't have any navi stuff, but although I think about upgrading to one that does, will I really use it? I probably wont be bothered to plan routes & upload them that often. Most of the time I get a rough idea where I am going on google maps & head out. If I get lost I just muddle through & its all part of the fun.
For my regular rides (1-2 hrs) I already know the local area so no navi or phone is needed.
If im going for a long day out Ill take a small backpack & ill have a phone if I need navi.
My wife has a Bryton which is more fancy, but that thing is a bit of a nightmare for her. Buttons are unintuitive, Issues with Bluetooth, account syncing, phone app - all these technologies never seem to work reliably & you end up messing about for ages.

One more issue with Garmin Edge 520 I noticed recently with firmware 13.20, the Incident Detection feature cannot be permanenty disabled anymore. Not sure if this is just an issue with my unit or it happens on all Garmin Edge products. If you turn Incident Detaction off, the next time you turn on the device its automatically enabled. Very annoying for mountain bikers as 90% of the time the Incident Detection warning is a false positive.

I just recently switched from 420 to bsc 300. For me, the type c interface, color screen, and map information are major upgrades. Furthermore, the appearance of bryton's application is too simple, while the UI of igps's application is good-looking and easy to use. My 420 often fails to connect to my phone after finishing a ride, and I have to manually open the app to connect. The bsc300 works very well, and uploads it to strava for me as soon as I save the activity.
I think 420 should be compared with bsc 200. Although 420 has not launched new products for a long time and is still using mirco usb interface, I will still choose igps.

@@LoveMTB the Garmin connection to the TF app is the still key feature that beats the others out. I can't believe that once you start navigating you can't see the trail names on the IG maps?!?! That's a no go.
Sometimes I get really annoyed at having to stop to dig out the phone when I'm out in the middle of somewhere new to check for a trail, even with the Garmin it happens. These GPS units are NOT good enough for compact our multi intersection trail systems.
      Thanx for the informative review.

@@AndreLaurentMTB Agree with you to a point. On the 530 screen I CANNOT find my way on new trails, or I rarely do. So I end up looking at the phone anyway😊

I have the BSC100; when you stop for a while, it turns off automatically, and to continue, you have to turn it on again. I suppose that the more expensive models have the same function
