    The little blistex pots, that come in the silver and blue pots, have been THE best lip products I whilst on roaccutane. They were seriously amazing and I didn't actually have to keep reapplying throughout the day! Thank you so much for this video Katie! I started when you did and will be finishing my course at the end of February! It's been great being on the same journey as you and very helpful! :))) X

    Yesterday was my last day of Accutane. 6 months in total.
    40mg on month 1 and 60mg from month 2 to 6.
    I am 75 kg, i took in total 10200mg.
    10200mg/75=136mg/kg
    Good luck everyone and keep your skincare routine as simple as possible

    Can you do a foundation/makeup products while on accutane video? I'm going on it in a month and literally wear makeup every day. I'm really worried I won't be able to wear it because my skin will get so dry and this will make me feel even more insecure! So thankful I found your videos while searching effects! Thanks for all your information you have shared!! xoxo

    Back in 1999 when roaccutane first came on the market a boy in my class was on it and I don't know if his dose was too high or what as it was such a new drug but his face was so red and inflamed he looked like Freddy Krueger the poor bugger
    So of course being horrible teenagers we called him that (not to his face)
    So I was always terrified of roaccutane I even had a consultation with a derm and decided against it. But it's great you are helping people so much by filming these and making it less terrifying!
    Turns out most of my acne was caused by the makeup and skin care etc I was using!! MAC !!

    I have severe rosacia and am on 80 milligrams daily of a different brand of isotretinoin called Claravis. . I am on day 18. My face is so much worse than when I started. It itches, hurts, and is bright red. I have tried 7 moisturizers and they all irritate and burn. I am going to try the Lush moisturizer next. I have found relief using ice packs on my face for the redness and swelling. This is my third time having to use this drug in the past 13 years. It held the rosacia at bay for 10 years. I don't remember having so much discomfort in the past. My skin cleared up after month 4 in my previous treatments. I'm hoping to find some relief when I reach month 2. Thank you for all your tips. I am also going to purchase the facial cleansing brush. Your skin looks radiant and beautiful now.

    I use aquaphor on my lips but not the chapstick version. I use the kind for healing cuts and wounds. It's almost like a paste so I put it on right before bed and when I wake up my lips feel brand new. No tightness and no dryness at all 😊 the chapstick kind didn't really do much for me either.

    I'm on my second month and I've been finding the Cetaphil moisturiser and cleanser realllly good. But I'm really intrigued by the La Roche Posay range. Loving these recommendations, definitely needed this!

    • @Libstermay93
      @Libstermay93 7 лет назад

      Charlotte Ryan I finished my roaccutane treatment last may. Cetaphil cleanser was something that consistently calmed my skin. It seems to be something that is gentle enough to accompany roaccutane.
      However, I'd recommend using Eucerin moisturizers and as they were amazing during in the final months of my treatment and I've continued to use them following my treatment.
      Best of luck to you and hope it works amazingly x

    Spin brushes are great, apart from the microdermabrasions and over exfoliation. Just use AHA or BHA, chemical exfoliants are more gentle and work good.

    Thank you so much for helpful tips! I myself are using almost all the La Roche Posay products, and are really happy about them! I was just wondering, (since i am now at my third week with roccutane) i am supposed to go on a birthcontroll, but since i´ve never done that (in a age of 20) i am kind of clueless. and also I'm not that big of a fan of messing with the hormones. BUT do you think birthcontroll pills will affect the treatment? or that i will get some bad side effects?

    Katie Snooks have you tried the Aquaphor lip balm? Idk if they sell it where you live or not, but I have extremely dry lips to where they crack and bleed and it's the only lip balm that works. Also, actual Vaseline helps...apply the thickest layer you can stand at night on and around your lips before going to bed. Thank you for all the info on the face care😁

    I'm on month 2 right now. I actually started Accutane (it's called RoAccutane here in Belgium) because of you Katie! I remember watching a video of yours, when you where just on month 1 or 2. It was the first time I had heard about Accutane and honestly, it sounded AWFUL haha. I thought "I'm never doing that", but then some months later I did go to the dermatologist (I'm 20 and had mild but consistent acne for years now) and decided to go for it.. and here I am, on day 40. So, as I thought, everything is very dry but I can handle it, only one thing that's really annoying: I still use makeup to cover up ( I also have couperose (it that what it's called?)), to hide redness), but my skin is so dry (mostly between my eyebrows, nose, chin,.. T zone basically), and it shows.. Like my foundation (it's actually a BB cream, not even that heavy), cracks, like it gets very notieable throughout the day.. maybe you have some tips? :-) I'm sorry for any mistaked in my English, I hope you get what I mean haha. I'm SO happy that you're doing so good, your skin looks great!! Lots of love from Flanders!

I currently use nothing for my face to cleanse it and moisturise it i only use water because im terrified of breaking out again! What dosage of roaccutane where you on? Did it gradually go up or stay the same throughout?

    • @katesnooks
      @katesnooks  7 лет назад +1

      I was on 20mg for a month and a half and have been on 40mg ever since! Not much of an increase and the low dose is why I've been on it for so long, but my weight and height meant I couldn't go on anything stronger!

    When on roaccutane are you allowed to use oils on your skin such as oil cleansers and such?

    • @megandoherty3255
      @megandoherty3255 7 лет назад +1

      I would say that you are as long as they're non comedogenic, I'm on a mild skin antibiotic and find grapeseed oil or almond oil great along with a rose water and glycerine toner (coconut oil clogged my pores so I avoid it in all my products)

    • @katesnooks
      @katesnooks  7 лет назад +1

      I'm pretty sure my dermatologist told me to avoid facial oils (I was a big fan of the Kiehls midnight recovery oil but haven't used it once since being on roac). I think they'd be great at putting moisture back into your skin but I've been too scared to use them! Makeup remover wise - I've loved using them as they're wash off xx

      Katie Snooks I'm now two weeks in to roaccutane and love the kiels oils but I was wondering if it was good for my skin. I will now cut that out and stick to good old moisturiser, thank you!!

    I've been allowed to use this by the dermatologist but I really don't know whether to go on it. I've been on lots of acne medication, I'm currently on antibiotics and are over 3 months in but my acne hasn't gone. it has slightly improved but I'm nervous that when I stop it will get worse. I don't know if I should go on roacutane because of the side effects, is it worth it?

      @clairem132 7 лет назад

      Emily Jade I'm in the same boat as you at the moment. I'm also on antibiotics but have been referred to a dermatologist for roaccutane and I'm having so much doubts about going on it

    • @katesnooks
      @katesnooks  7 лет назад +1

      I was on SO many different antiobiotics for acne and none of them had lasting effects. The side effects are rubbish but I'm now so confident with my clear skin!

    • @clairem132
      @clairem132 7 лет назад

      Katie Snooks it's the side effects that's giving me doubts but then I think it will all be worth it in the end. This video has been super helpful and some great recommendations for if I do start treatment x

      Yeah it's the side effects that are putting me off especially losing hair and the rare side effects. I've got to make my decision in less than two weeks and I'm really torn but my scarings getting worse and I'm really fed up of having acne for 5 years x

    Loved the video Katie, I hope you don't mind me commenting this but I was wondering if anyone started breaking out after accutane? It's been almost 2 months since I finished and I had the odd spots here and there and suddenly this week I've broken out a lot! The spots aren't bad they're just like red little marks but I have loads of bumps along my jaw line and on my cheeks? Was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this or something similar? I'm not bothered by them just a little worried it might be the start of my acne coming back :(

      Dee Niccole I'm in my second last month & this is happening to me! I have like 10 little red bumps on my chin & a couple more coming up on the side of my temple ☹️

      Shania Huxley its so annoying isn't it? They're not even real spots just little raised red bumps, I keep waking up with more and more :( I'm going to the dermatologist for a check up in a month or so so il have to see what they say! Hopefully they'll go soon..

      Dee Niccole same! I find myself waking up with more everyday & exactly, they're not real pimples they're little dots on the surface. Arghh

      I finished my roaccutane last June and have had a few weeks were I've full on panicked that my skin was gonna go back to how it was.
      Similar to you wil bumps on my jaw and some on my cheeks. However they never seem to last. I find they come around my period or stressful times and just treating them with the right ointments is key.
      Hope they clear up soon 👍 xx

    Hello! I am wanting to buy the vanity face brush with the discount but received a warning about additional customs charges, the deal seems too good to be true has anyone successfully ordered one and not been charged extra?

    • @katesnooks
      @katesnooks  7 лет назад +1

      I'm pretty sure customs charges are decided by your local postal system and it's just hit or miss to whether you actually get charged! Both times I ordered Kylie Jenner Lip Kits from the US I got charged around £12 for customs x

    Hi I really enjoyed this video, however if you are going to be making ads can you please inform the viewer who the add is for. I don't mind ad videos as the video is still very informative however I have noticed you will say when it is an ad but you won't say which product. Thank you 😊

      Thanks for the feedback Samirah - I did pop up a sign when I started talking about the brush, however you should know that I would never promote anything I don't already use and love. Doesn't make it any less true! x

    i found this interesting as going back on Roactotane for a second round after a years break (my skin is twice as bad as yours was obvs) but a key thing I'm hating is that you are recommending exfloatiting. it's a big NO from my dermo as well as waxing and threading as you are damaging the skin that is trying to heal underneath as you are taking away the layer protecting it >< Had to stop half way though was waiting for this vid as realised you were sponsored (money off offer) and therefore gave wrong advice to those who may be just starting and therefore have more chance in scaring.

    • @katesnooks
      @katesnooks  7 лет назад

      I found that exfoliating with a brush was one of the only ways to deal with my flaking skin and to make it more smooth and soft (after coating with lots of moisturiser afterwards). My dermatologist didn't warn me against exfoliating, but he did say I couldn't use chemical exfoliants. I would never promote anything I don't love and adore x

    Just a heads up, the Blistex relief cream has awful ingredients. There's so much alcohol in it, it will progressively dry your lips (making you need more) it was the only lip balm I used for years as I always had visible results. Took me a few years to stop getting horrifyingly chapped lips.

    Don't shoot the messenger but I feel like I have to tell you, those face brushes aren't actually that good for your skin! I don't know the exact science behind it but Caroline Hirons has a blog post about cleansing brushes if you want to get more informed!💜
