I bought this tc version gotcha after seeing your video. Speaking from my personal experience, this gotcha disconnects A LOT (5-6 times an hour) when you connect it to two devices at the same time, much more frequent than a regular gotcha connecting to one device. So anyone interested in buying this, take this connectivity issue into consideration.
Happy I am not the only one experiencing this issue. I searched this video looking to see if it was just me, or if it is a bug. It disconnects every 10min. for me. For brand new technology I'm pretty disappointed in it. I just wish it worked well, cause I love the idea of it, but if I have to keep checking the connection, it's not practical.
I've been running a gotcha for several years now. My biggest play adjustment was hoarding red balls. When not working from home, I have a 2-hour bicycle ride to work. In that time, each morning and each evening, the auto-catch would land about 70 catches, each way. Keep in mind, the catch rate is right at 50%, this means those 70 catches require about 140 red balls. Of course, the auto-spin is replenishing that count, to an extent. Any time that my red ball count drops below about 80, I turn off auto-catch and let the number of red balls get up closer to 200. You'll find your own best balance of catch, spin and ball count. This also means that it becomes habit to only use Great and Ultra balls when manual catching.
You should use the go companion app! It tracks the catches and misses so you can get an accurate number per session. 50% isnt quit right anymore because we have so many event spawns.
Thanks for the vid, and it's great to see you making content again and supporting other RUclipsrs like The Trainer Club. One thing that needs to be mentioned is that it is super easy to break the USB connection on the Gotcha if you remove the strap the wrong way. I know dozens of Trainers who have done this. Given that you need to recharge the Gotcha roughly every 4 days or so, it's something you need to be very careful with.
Correction: a fast phone charger won't damage it. QC 3.0 and PD chargers require specific signals over the data pins to deliver higher voltage output. Without a signal, they default to 5 volts just like your computer's USB port.
I’ve had multiple Gotcha’s and One (2 device) Egg… The gotchas & the egg frequently drop connection to my devices which is a real pain for the Gotcha especially, because you have to press the button on the little screen for it to reconnect to the phone. The egg will reconnect without pressing any buttons on the egg itself, just need to tap on the greyed-out pokeball icon on the game’s main screen…ALSO, my 2-device egg lost its ability to connect to a second device somewhere along the way, so now I walk around with the egg, a gotcha and 2 devices…which isn’t ideal at all
I tend to save up red balls for community days then use my gotcha evolve for those days and I use the blue and black balls while leaving red for the watch. That's my biggest thing if they could utilise blue balls as well that would be amazing. I only need the master ball stock

They have at least fixed the issue with screen popping off as they have glued the screen to the rest of the gotcha now. My device died during go Feast so I am going to have to purchase a new one so great timing on the video. Different game without a gotcha since I am used to letting the device mass catch the pokemon that I don't care about while I hunt the one I want. Now I find I am spending less time mass catching but I also find I have a lot more resources. Remember the Gotcha only catches around 40% of the pokemon that the device sees so hand catching is always much better when playing important events. Gotcha is a in between event device or as I have seen lately when you sleep device. (Which I am shocked that people actually use it that way but not surprised)
Had a Go-Tcha Evolve, it really well then it didn’t. Screen stoped working after about two months then slowly the rest of it stopped working. Does not connect with all USB ports, use a extension cord 🔌. Also it only used regular balls, it would not use Great ball or Ultra balls.
Im still using my pokeball plus. I have to say it does a nice job. I removed the strap pretty quick back in the day cause it was pissing me of for whatever reason, so it's a bit more unwieldy now compared to a bracelet, but compared to all the knock off unlicensed products so far, the ball definitely works the best in my opinion. Wouldn't recommend anyone buying it for the ludacris prices it's going for right now though.. 🙄
Can you turn the light off on the catchmon egg ? I have the gotcha evolve also it spins stops at higher sleeps it seems like I be going 30 40 and it will still spin but I like the look of the egg more
so im a bit lost, I bought the evolve, amd all these videos talk about a pedometer and watch face but mine has neither wth man??? I've returned it once already am I doing something wrong?
Can anyone tell me how I get the clock feature? All it says online is some versions have it, so how do I know what version I have and what version can also be used as a watch? In case you're wondering I can't use my phone at work, at all, and want to both spin stops while I'm there and know the time
Just an FYI. "Something for your car" is right, but people need to remember that dogy inserts to add usb's to your car can fry your phone/anything connected to it.
One YT review I came across pointed out that people who have 2 accounts and use a Samsung device may be better off with the Dual Catchmon rather than the Go-tcha Evolve Trainer Club Edition. He showed that the Go-tcha Evolve TC Edition HAS to be connected to 2 devices if playing with 2 accounts while the Dual Catchmon can be connected to 1 device or 2 devices depending on where the 2 accounts are played on. He didn't mention on response time or how fast it is catching or spinning, and I think the Go-tcha Evolve beats the Catchmon in terms of that. Maybe the GO companion app could help with that.

You can probably by liquid to fix scratches and then buy a protective film since it isnt a touch screen everywhere (just the button needs to be exposed). Could be a fun project!
I ordered Gotcha Evolve to sell in our stores but I must say that RMA (faulty devices) were pretty high... I ordered around 50 pieces and 11 of them got back with problem (not charging, usb port breaking, battery draining etc)... I would not recommend Evolve.
@@FLWVideosYT I was excited to bring Gotcha to our market here since no-one is selling them here but we had to gove customers money back and we barely break even. It was rather minor investment but alot of work. That was 1st edition that was released to market maybe they take care of problems now I don't know. I'm still more satisfied with Go Plus and Pokeball tho.
I’ve had issues with my Gotcha Evolve randomly changing the settings on/off in the app. Also I’ve had spin pokestops setting off yet it spun anyway and gave me an egg I didn’t want. I now run through the Gotcha itself to make sure it’s set correctly.
That happened to me the first few times and then I finally got the settings to stick. Toggle to the way you want it to be and let it sit there for a few seconds before closing. It needs time to send. The clock face now works for me by default days later
Can someone please advise on how often does it disconnect? I am still using the GO Plus since forever and the frequent need to change battery is not sustainable. But what is more frustrating it how often it disconnects. How does this new Gotcha fares in this aspect?
Every hour but that is because of Pokemon Go having a setting that does that. The go companion app I civered today will notify you when a disconnect occurs
Ive bought the gotcha evolve 4 months ago and i hate it. Display doesnt work properly, it disconnects several times a day, the charging doesnt work .....on my huawei p30 pro. I have the evolve app, i tried nfc connect.Nothing is working. Dont recommend it. Mostly catches low cp pokemon and the good ones fled.
I've only used the gotcha Evolve. Thanks to my local pokemon discord server, I knew it disconnects after an hour automatically. I've also run into where I'd I let it die, I have to do the re enable s to make sure auto capture known is on. Otherwise it's off for me. Otherwise I like it.

Mine won't work after two months. :( it worked great but would just randomly not work for a day or two then work again. I'm getting a new one and if it acts the same I'll get a different brand. For 80 it should be more durable and work consistently.

I have both, The gotcha evolve is trash!!! The gotcha original is way better. Smaller, easier to charge, and stays connected way longer than the evolve!!! It makes it 100x better. Having it connect to two devices it’s completely useless for me
Oh man!! I'm obviously getting this right now!! I have the gotcha evolve already and it's fantastic!!! And I was about to buy the dual catch somewhere in this month!!! I'm still researching but thanks to you I made up my mind now!! Didn't knew about the trainer club partnership!!! Also both of those apps work amazing!! Specially go companion , it improved drastically the gotcha functionality above expectations!! Some pokes would even appear in screen and there were at least 4 pokes catched without me even noticing!!!
I recently purchased this as well (trainer club version). Great catcher BUT horrible design, sadly, I snapped off one end when trying to remove the band. TAhnkfully the charging portion is still attached to the device so it wasn't a complete loss
This happened to me as well. I bought it after my first popped out (this happens a lot with this design) and got lost. But then this happened. I ended up returning the Evolve and going back to the original style. I initially thought the builtin USB charging was a very cool upgrade over the original gotcha. But this design of being IN the wristband breaks too easily. Gotcha is a better catcher than the Go Plus, and I really like the improvements of the the Evolve over the original, but their physical designs need work ;)
This gotcha isn’t new you could’ve reviewed this last year or when it just come out as it will be 2 years old this November. I feel this is you plugging the new trainer club version. As the gotcha evolve got bad reviews everywhere. 90% said get the original. This is basically a sponsored video without it being sponsored. If I’m wrong then sorry but timing is backing up what I’m saying. This isn’t a dig at you but don’t get why now? Wouldn’t have questioned this video but definitely plugging TTC version.

I mistakingly thought it could connect to two devices and wanted to test it out for myself. I have personally not had issues with it but then again, I dont use the watch strap and the charger port seemd to be the main issue

Here’s another more specific question: if I were to buy the catchmon, connect it at my house, drive slowly through the city part, get to the highway, then exit the highway by work and drive through the industrial area, will the catchmon start spinning stops again after the highway portion? Or will I need to restart the app because of the speed thing?
I have a dual catchmom. I love that it connects to two devices. It is a bit slow with catching pokemon on my samsung s9. But it catches a lot quicker on my daughters newer iphone. My phone is slow all around so I can't fault the catchmon for that. I might try that app to see of it improves the speed on mine. I like that it uses batteries. It lasts for a long time before I need to change the batteries. I use to have a regular gotcha. It is so small and I lost it twice. Its never been found. It also was slow catching pokes on my phone. But again can't fault the gotcha for that. The weird charging wire was not desirable and its also easy to lose. It would have been nice to see the battery life left on the gotcha to know it needs to be charged before it dies. I carry new batteries with me so whenever the batteries die on the catchmon I can replace it right away. With the hourly auto disconnects I have found it easier to reconnect to pogo with the catchmon compared to the gotcha.
I just see a difference between my c Gotcha and a new fancy one . Work the same.. i use go companion for a year now.. Think its a money grab tbh ..like the game

Yup! I used both and this is my second evolve. this one still has the same bugs as before. The original works way better.

Tried the original Gotcha years ago, very cool that they have made a case for it and updated the charging port. Looks a lot more functional now!

My Evolve is not charging anymore (havent had it for long), I just wont do anything when I plug it is. Any tips?

Tbh. My nephew did the same but he cut the wristband off so that he could pop the top back om the usb & protect.

It's always been 3rd party. It is banable but... They have also been banning completely legit play, so noone is safe

It works two ways. 1. When app is open and pogo on screen. 2. When app is on, but you turn your phone screen OFF

I have both, The gotcha evolve is trash!!! The gotcha original is way better. Smaller, easier to charge, and stays connected way longer than the evolve!!! It makes it 100x better. Having it connect to two devices it’s completely useless for me

Oh man!! I'm obviously getting this right now!! I have the gotcha evolve already and it's fantastic!!! And I was about to buy the dual catch somewhere in this month!!! I'm still researching but thanks to you I made up my mind now!! Didn't knew about the trainer club partnership!!! Also both of those apps work amazing!! Specially go companion , it improved drastically the gotcha functionality above expectations!! Some pokes would even appear in screen and there were at least 4 pokes catched without me even noticing!!!

I recently purchased this as well (trainer club version). Great catcher BUT horrible design, sadly, I snapped off one end when trying to remove the band. TAhnkfully the charging portion is still attached to the device so it wasn't a complete loss

This happened to me as well. I bought it after my first popped out (this happens a lot with this design) and got lost. But then this happened. I ended up returning the Evolve and going back to the original style. I initially thought the builtin USB charging was a very cool upgrade over the original gotcha. But this design of being IN the wristband breaks too easily. Gotcha is a better catcher than the Go Plus, and I really like the improvements of the the Evolve over the original, but their physical designs need work ;)

I have personally not had issues with it but then again, I dont use the watch strap and the charger port seemd to be the main issue

Not at fast speeds but that is a Pogo safety setting, not the auto catcher

Here’s another more specific question: if I were to buy the catchmon, connect it at my house, drive slowly through the city part, get to the highway, then exit the highway by work and drive through the industrial area, will the catchmon start spinning stops again after the highway portion? Or will I need to restart the app because of the speed thing?

I have a dual catchmom. I love that it connects to two devices. It is a bit slow with catching pokemon on my samsung s9. But it catches a lot quicker on my daughters newer iphone. My phone is slow all around so I can't fault the catchmon for that. I might try that app to see of it improves the speed on mine. I like that it uses batteries. It lasts for a long time before I need to change the batteries. I use to have a regular gotcha. It is so small and I lost it twice. Its never been found. It also was slow catching pokes on my phone. But again can't fault the gotcha for that. The weird charging wire was not desirable and its also easy to lose. It would have been nice to see the battery life left on the gotcha to know it needs to be charged before it dies. I carry new batteries with me so whenever the batteries die on the catchmon I can replace it right away. With the hourly auto disconnects I have found it easier to reconnect to pogo with the catchmon compared to the gotcha.
Let me know if the Go companion app improves your experience
