I got my DuoMon 2022 before the weekend and let me say, IT ROCKS! I had been using the Gotcha Evolve and over a weekend with normal play, I may burn through 500-600 Pokeballs. With the DuoMon, I emptied my bag of almost 1200. Way more catches, way more pokestops spun, easier to re-connect...just awesome. I did run a second account on an old android while using my iPhones hotspot. It worked just as well....sometimes better. 10/10 would recommend.
Always stepping up your content! Thanks Dax.
I'm still using the Gotcha evolve, and in a year it still works well and I usually use it in 3 different situations:
1. I'm sitting in the tram that goes around the city and put it on stops only while I catch some pokemon. This works fine.
2. I have catching pokemon only on while I'm cycling, then I put my phone screen on the game mode standby, so that it uses less battery and it still works after like 10 min of cycling.
3. I have both on at the same time while walking around. The gotcha sometimes doesn't really like this and then just stops working for a bit even if there are spinnable stops or pokemon to catch.
All with all I still like the Gotcha evolve and it doesn't really give me any problems. Sometimes I have catching pokemon on while pvping outside and that works as well! Nice video Daxi :)
I got my DuoMon last Thursday... Got it synced up really easy... Love it so far... On the bus to work to Seattle it was catching pokemon and spinning the stops going around 50 miles per hour. With out the DuoMon, I can only catch pokemon around 23 miles per hour... great improvement...
I’ve had several Gotcha products break for no reason. I bought one Catchmon and the thing has been an absolute tank for nearly a year. I’d recommend the Catchmon all day
Can it let you use great balls if you run out of poke balls
@@OgHazeKiller562 None of the devices can ever do that, it's programmed that way in Pokémon Go and not a single piece of hardware can override that.
My gotcha didn't make it to the 6 mo mark. I'm so disappointed by it. I'm gonna try the catchmon next time.
i’ve had my gotcha for about a year now. I use it nearly daily and it’s going strong. Just wish it had longer battery life
@@smokesignal3432 how is it going I had 2 one stopped charging after 7 moth and the other lasted 1 year 6 moths it it also need to be charged every day but when I first got it it lasted almost a week
Had a Gotcha for years, and the toughest part was varying disconnect times (15 min to an hour) and having to interact with it to reconnect. Got the Duomon a few days ago and once it's on, I dont have to touch it to reconnect. Yes, it's nice that the Gotcha is on my wrist so I can get to it, but I'm wearing it because I have to - it's necessary to access it to use it. Duo is the size of a hockey puck (smaller?) and very thin. I turn it on and leave it in my pocket and dont have to touch it. Reconnecting is just the taps you already do in the game..nothing more. It also stayed connected for an hour each time. Probably wont use the audio features, but Im very very happy with it.
Okay, but what do you think about the ‘glitch’ where you want to catch a Pokémon (let’s say, a Pikachu) and you cannot catch it and it runs away? Maybe not that bad, but how about, let’s say, a Shiny Unown? (Happened to another RUclipsr called JTGily and he failed to catch it, hence the example.) And i know this is not about the comparison, just about GoTcha’s in general.
@@thatsleepybirb True on ANY autocatcher. If the device grabs it first, it's first. Easy thing to do if you're is a mass group of mons is to manually turn off the mon catching in the game setting, do all the shiny checks, then turn on the mon setting again. Doing it in-game allows the catcher to still spin stops while you are doing shiny checks. Really easy thing to disable/enable. I'll also say I have caught quite a few shiny because I'm catching stuff all the time, even when driving. So I'll take that. Those are all mons I wouldnt have caught otherwise. Good tradeoff.
@@kevincharles112 Thats true, but knowing me i would forget to turn it on/off haha
Where did you buy your duomon??
Does the duomon, work well just spinning pokestops, when driving? I have a gotcha and I'm fed up of all the connection issues, I have and wouldn't mind trading the catching speed for a more reliable connection, as long as it spins stops while driving, no problem.
Starting with only Pokestop spins for each area would have been best. They reset after 5 minutes so you could then do both spin/catch at the same place before moving to another test site.
My regular Gotchas work well but... you have to keep an eye that they don't disconnect early.
I love your channel, maybe experiment with you background music a little more but I’m glad you were precise and fair to both products, I hope you keep it up!
As TC gotcha owner I can agree that it catches fast enough- if I'm driving with bicycle it catches almost every pokemon in the city center and all of them in subburbs.
For start up I also recommend to move some steps, I think auto catcher is waiting for "Pokemon in range" feature from PoGo itself, this is why incense spawns are usually lower priority than pokemons that appear on the far edge of your range.
I think Gotcha have smaller in-built antena so the range is much closer.
I really like AAA battery feature and auto reconnect request for DuoMon.
Android phones have more connectivity issues than iPhone, as Android lover I have to admit it. : (
I never have connectivity issues I see all the Icrap phones can't even connect to the tc gotcha I find it hilarious
Your mom looks so happy and proud of you. Im happy to see it!!
The duel Tends to spin before it catches when you’re above a certain speed it will catch before it spins when you’re moving slower
Ordered mine when you put up the first review arriving tomorrow, hope it works better than my gotcha evolve, that thing was a nightmare
Just purchased the Trainer club Gotcha and the improvement from the issues of the older one is great. I have had no issues with disconnecting…as you stated you must check the box’s and even driving it still spins and catches Pokémon (30 MPH or less) super happy with my purchase.
EDIT: I connect to 1 phone, iPhone 12 Pro.
the trainer club gotcha works really well with 1 phone. becomes very unreliable once you connect 2 phones tho
I have the catcha-go watch.
But I'm thinking to get duo because my son started playing too.
Thanks for the video very informative.
Btw about the catcha-go watch battery.
If you have a good power bank you can use it while it's charging.
your mom is adorable. so sweet to be able to play pgo with your mom. much love, Daxi.
I’ve got the Dual catchamon and the trainer club gotcha and honestly I don’t enjoy the gotcha much I use two devices all the time and just have always found it an unenjoyable experience. I’m actually going to give away the gotcha and am seriously considering getting the duomon. Seems to be a lot of lag on the gotcha between catching on the two devices
Thanks dex as always for theses tips as a better
Bought the duomon on Amazon in USA. Works great! I had the gotcha evolve worked okay, but duomon definitely a huge upgrade. thanks
how ? with real compassionate what about it is better and worth the price tag?
i always check my suscribtion page to see if u are posted a video ,your're channel is by far the best !you have a serious talent
You shouldn't dismiss the fails. Because that is some crucial information on reliability. I used the Gotcha for a month and noticed different "bugs". Not having Pokemon or Pokestop enabled even though I didn't change the option. Sometimes being awfully slow while having lightning speed most of the time. And not connecting, losing connection, or even losing the Bluetooth pairing were frequent issues. And all the speed is worth nothing if you spend all your time fiddling with your devices.
I have the gotcha evolve, and definitely experience connection issues. It seems to struggle if I have my phone in one pocket and the watch in the other side pocket
I’m probably gonna stick with getting the Pokémon go plus but the auto catch and recharge one. Because it’s honestly quite expensive for just an addition to the game so… yeah
Something to think about with the use of batteries vs use of built in rechargeable;
The one that uses replaceable batteries will probably last way, way longer than the one with a built in battery. Assuming the battery in the trainer is a lithium ion or something similar. Those have a limited number of charge/discharge cycles. Once those are used up, the product is done unless you can find someone to replace the battery. If you're the type of person who only replaces a piece of tech when it absolutely wont work anymore and can no longer be repaired, the one that uses replaceable batteries may last until something changes with Bluetooth protocols. Which could be a substantial amount of time.
Not as good for the environment though
@@rianweston-dodds6247 I personally would opt for the one that uses disposable batteries and then use rechargeables in it. I would rather throw away a rechargeable battery after using it over and over than throwing away the device itself after the LI-ON battery is dead.
If the battery cycle is anything like a phone, you get two years tops before the battery is in need of replacement. I don't consider a two year life span long on a tech product to be acceptable, So I do what I can to make it last longer and keep it out of a landfill.
Can someone that owns one of these devices comment on their experience with the battery life/charge cycles?
and now I want to get a used one just to pop it open and see what's goin on inside.
True, but how often can people keep a product til failure? Especially one that apparently isn't as durable (according to reviews I've been reading) personally, I've never kept a product til the battery couldn't hold a charge. Closest thing would be a phone I had for 3 years but the battery showed no sign of slowing down. I agree with your overall statement, but like you said it should only really be considered for people who use/can keep a product functioning for a long time. I'd say 3-5 years
I hate to ask, but could you check out the Brook auto catchers?
I bought the trainer club gotcha based on your review and trainers review of it. But honestly, through multiple uses, it continually disconnects when connected to two devices. Theres so many connection issues with it on the latest iphones, and latest software update. Seems like this could probably be patched with a software update, but they are so few and infrequent that I’ve gone back to using the pokeball catcher instead.
Yup had these issue when testing. Billy said there would be updates to fix it but nothing so far
My friend actually has a trainer club Gotcha that doesn't want to connect to his phone at all......
I got the dualmon about over a year now. The only issue is how fast it drains batteries. 2 AAA last a month. Gotto carry extra batteries. But I can connect 2 phones if needed. So when my sister and I did comm days together I would connect her phone until she got hers.
What are your thoughts and opinion about the Brook Pocket Auto Catcher/Auto Catcher Reviver+? I'm looking into getting an auto catcher but I came across this on amazon and wasn't able to find a lot of youtube reviews about it
Added it to my cart on Amazon and it'll be delivered at the end of July (almost two months). Kinda sucks to have to wait for something at this price tag
Do you like it ?
I just got the new Gotcha after having the first one since release and it's been nothing but problems debating whether to send it back or not
I currently have the Trainer Club Gotcha, and it does...ok? My one complaint about it is that if I get more than like 10 feet away from my iPhone I can pretty much count on it disconnecting. After watching your Duomon video I bit the bullet and ordered one. The autoconnect feature plus the better catch speed really put it over the edge for me.
I just got a Brook Auto Catch Lightning. It connected and started to catch really fast. Not much of a vibrate to it. Works great but have not went out yet.
Definitely looking forward to buying one should they ever decided to restock 😅 it's been sold out/unavailable since day 1 lol
it restocked 2 days ago and then sold out again, just try to open the link 2-3 times daily to buy it, gud luck :D
Loving the hat, Dax
MamaDaxi on Wailmer: "How can it fit in the ball?" LMAO
Good question, right ? Do you know how it fits??? Pokemama.
You also have to consider cell phone service and cell phone connection (like how much cellular bars you have)
Great videos keep them up:)
Seems like the trainer club is a Bluetooth issue either with the phone or the device because you can't get as far away from it and it takes longer to connect and start. I have a feeling either using it with a phone with better Bluetooth or checking to see if there is a firmware update would fix it.
I managed to get a dual catchmon from amazon shipped to the UK.
Miles better than the official Go+, definitely worth the money.
how?
Came back to this video for anauto catcher question. Let’s say you’re running two accounts on a galaxy phone split screen. Since it is technically one device, would you need a dual catchmon or just one gotcha??
Edit: asking because I run two accounts full time and I have iPhones (old 7+ and 11promax) and I wanna get a galaxy to play both on one device
Duomon not available in the United Kingdom at the moment (15th MAy 2022 at 14:00 hours)
I'm trying to decide which one to get and I was wondering, which one would you choose?
Hi Daxi! I absolutely love watching the time you spend with your momma playing pokemon. I get to do that sometimes with my boys! 🥳. But I have a question….
Okay, so I got a regular gotcha and can not get it to connect. I turned my Bluetooth on and on the Bluetooth part of my phone it recognizes the gotcha but then once I go to my game and go to the settings within game it won’t link it. Any suggestions? 😔
I had the same problem, so what I did is I turn it on by clicking the little PokeBall on the top right of the map and then after I'll hold on the gotcha once for like 3 seconds until it vibrates Android I'll leave it alone then your phone will ask to pair and connect and I hit yes and after that you're good. I play the same way with my kids lol ...good luck I hope I explained myself good enough
@@daddyshark3105 Yes thank you so much! I had to end up hitting forget this device on my iphone and then tried it and it worked! Thanks again for responding!
I just got the Duomon after seing your video recommendation , and one thing I might have missed, but dont think you tell, is that it seems that its ONLY the red Poke Balls you can use, and thats annoying when theres e.g. over 300 blue and yellow poke balls.
Are there any way in settings that can be changed so Duomon can use the other colours Poke balls ?
no auto catches can use other balls another than a regular poke. but wait for the go plus plus which will be able to when it comes out
i know im late but your moms energy is awsome haha!
On The Android are you using Go companion? It makes my gotcha easier and I think it increases speed. Something worth noting if you aren't and could probably do a video on
Hi Poke Dax I chust wonderd where can you get the best outo catcher
Should practice having them started already and then going to a new area to see how that goes cuz like if your turning it on before you leave your house who cares if it takes a min to get rollin?
Do you have to stay in the app or keep the app open in the background in order for these to work?
Great vid and you mum is awesome. 👍
would be great if it used all three types of pokeballs and not just the red ones. i have a ton of great and ultra balls now and no red which would be fine if i were playing at the moment but kinda limits the success of the autocatcher once you get to the point of having a full item bag and no red balls.
My Gotcha evolve stopped working after a couple months for no apparent reason just wouldn’t turn on one day, it also felt like I was going to snap off the usb charging bit every time I took off the band. I just got a pokeball plus and one of those clips off of etsy and it works well except the vibrate is very annoying. If I ever figure out how to disable to vibrate I’ll be happy.
Where did you get it?
Love your mom! She needs to be on more videos! Tell her hi!
I’m on my second Gotcha TC Edition, the first had some battery failure and died in like 1,5 hour from 100% battery. I received my second one today and it disconnects all the freaking time. I think I had it connected for 20 minutes at most. My old original gotcha is still working and stays connected the full hour every single time. I really want the multiple account function so I might try a Duomon.
Tried to buy the dualmon from the link in your description and it’s not currently available. Any help?
How does the Duo compare to the Catchmon egg? I don’t have 2 accounts or a person to play with.
Hi Dax, I am from South Africa and a few of us here would like to order the DouMon but it says out of stock on Amazon for us. Please could you ask them if they are shipping to South Africa. Thanks!
Ask yourself??
great vid as always!:)
Your mom is adorable
It’s cool you both play, I would die for that
Aww - thank you. I enjoy playing, with Dax and in my own! Pokemama.
Can the DuoMon be made silent, or does it always talk? Some of the online reviews seem to imply that you can turn the volume down but not off. This would make stealth use difficult (library, work, etc.)
i think if you toggle to the audio setting/color and then hold down the button once you are there it will turn the audio off
My only issue w the go tchas are that they disconnect so frequently. The first evolve i got literally worked for maybe 2 pokemon before disconnecting
Yknow considering they're doesn't seem to be a huge difference speed wise with the trainer club gotcha and it costs 40 bucks instead of 90 I think when I decide to get one imma get the trainer club
How's it going
I wonder how this would go against the new egg catchmon?
Was wondering the same. Can't find any info on the new egg compared to the duomon. Based on their Amazon descriptions it sounds like they both got the same speed upgrade, but the egg advertises it alot more then the duomon page
Is it sold out? It says currently unavailable on Amazon.
I have like 5 different auto catchers. I always choose my duo. The difference in speed was insignificant and the duo lasts way longer on its batteries than any other catcher. Also my gotcha broke and wouldn’t charge anymore after like 10 uses.
The older one isn’t great in a car though.
Is this referring to the new 2022 one or one of the older models?
I bought all my catchers in 2020
still recommend the duo in 2022?
does auto catching give you xp faster than doing excellent throws because it takes a few mins per pokemon to get excellent throws.
If it does i could just drive around on com days and auto catch a bunch of pokemons
you'll get xp faster doing excellent throws. I don't recommend using an auto catcher on com days. I recommend just fast catching as many as you can.
Lol the hat reminds me of the safari kid in Pokémon games.
I just got mine today. And for some reason it just doesn’t connect to my iPhone.
I went to settings on my iPhone, turn the Bluetooth on, open the Pokémon go app, turn the Dualmon on and went to the Pokémon go plus and clicked on it.
Nothing.! I’ve tried everything.
Just feel like returning it and getting something else.
Unfortunately its very expensive in EU (like $130 us).
the funny thing is the best auto catchers of all are the aliexpress ones. They're called Powermon 1p, 2p, and 3p. not cheap but great devices
These intros are getting better every video
Hello, does anyone know where I can buy the 1-player catchmon device at this time???
Thank you
daxi what do you think will happend to pachrichu cause Russia
daxi in my collegue place and nearby house gym is full of spoofers😖 i have report it but still their name are still appearing in the gym also prove are very strong. Would u mind if u give sime tips to deal with this situation?it will be a lot to us clean play pokemon go
I'm still undecided what autocatcher to get. Alot of people on your last video told me to get the gotcha.
I have the newer gotcha classic, it works well, and connects fast.
gotcha just cause its affordable and gets the job done
If you want the more affordable, go with gotcha, I do not own nor ever used one, but I heard they work as intended. I do however have the egg incubator catchmon since Go Fest 2020. Still works, I like it personally because it will tell you when it disconnects via sound and vibrate while driving, and less multi tasking because you dont have to touch the catcmon even to reconnect. Its 100% hands free with a 20 meter connection radius to your phone. So less hassle, But it is more expensive. Hope this help. P.S. the Catchmon is on sale until tomorrow on Amazon for 59 USD, and they have it in Team Rocket themed egg.
Thanks for making this
You forgot the most important test! These are DUAL auto-catchers. You didn't test how they perform when connected to TWO devices. I.E. does it perform as well on account two, as it does on account one?
I have the Trainer Club Gotcha. I bought it specifically because it could connect to two devices. The problem I found is that I would get to a cluster, both phones would tell the gotcha that they had pokemon to catch, but it would not catch on one phone while it was catching on the other phone. It would clear out the cluster, entirely, on one phone, before starting to catch pokemon on the other phone.
The problem with the Trainer Club Gotcha is that it's a single gotcha whose bluetooth compatibility allows it to connect to two devices; it's NOT two independent gotchas in a single housing. A single auto-catcher (of any kind) can only act on a new pokemon or pokestop after it's finished its interaction with the previous one. So, if it's catching a pokemon on one account, and the other account says, "hey, I've got a pokemon", it won't try to catch it until it's done catching the pokemon on the other account. The problem there is that Pokemon Go will only wait so long until it stops sending the signal that it has a pokemon to catch, then it will wait 20-30 seconds before it sends the signal again. Before it sends out that next signal, if the first phone says, "hey, got another pokemon here", the gotcha's going to act on that one, and the cycle starts over again. Which is why it will clear an entire cluster on one device before even starting to catch pokemon on the other device. If you're trying to play while you're driving through parking lots, the second device could go 5-10 minutes before catching a single pokemon or spinning a single pokestop. I'd look down and see all the stops I had driven past were purple on one account, and blue on the other one.
Translation: They cheaped out on the Trainer Club Gotcha. It's fine for when your friend forgot his catcher, and you can offer to connect for him. If it doesn't catch too many, what're you complaining about? I'm helping you out! It's not good for when you want to quickly catch a comparable number of pokemon on each account.
Also, Code Junkies' customer service is horrible. Their return period is not enough time to adequately assess the device. Especially since you have to contact them to get return authorization, and they don't respond within their return period.
BTW, you're doing a good job. You give a lot of the same advice I give my Discord group.
These are interesting points… there might be more testing….
the trainer club gotcha is great with 1 device. but sucks with 2
The TC Gotcha is OK with one account but with two it has the problem that it disconnects often and stops catching on one account while it is working on the other account. It is bad at handling two accounts at once. I hope the Catchmon Duo is better at handling two accounts at once.
These for hot zone players
I live in rural place
Trying to grow up few stops for our area 🥰
Seem to have problems connecting to the TC gotcha. Does not able to connect most of the time
I've noticed that if I connected my trainer club gotcha to 2 accounts at once, the accounts end up taking turns. Like both acc will proc the gotcha, but only 1 acc will toss ball. And sometimes, in the process of taking turns, one acc might miss out entire, so the gotcha has to loop back to the ignored mon/stop. This results in making the speed of catch/spin pretty slow when both acc are active. Which means that if I ever walk into a cluster, I better stop for a few minutes if I want to give both acc a fair chance to catch and spin every mon in the radius. Does the duo mon have the same issue?
does pokemon go need to be open for the catcher to work?
I bought the Trainer Club gotcha in May for 63€ (incl. shipping to Germany and taxes), it really works well and connects to two devices simultaneously whereby the connections to iOS works faster and more reliable vs. android devices. Biggest problem is how you charge the device. You have to remove the wrist band and after a few removals the charging contacts will brake and you won't be able to charge your device anymore.... complete missconstruction and way to expensive for only four months lifetime
Do you need the app open for the auto catcher to work?
It needs to be in the background. If you close the app, it obviously wont catch or spin anything. You can turn off your screen too.
i got the old version.... they dont ship to europe/germany :(
Is the newest one better then the duomon
I can’t get a duomon every time I look it’s out of stock
Since gotchas break ToS, what are the chances of Niantic punishing us for using them? Could our accounts be banned or deleted down the line if Niantic decides they don’t like gotchas?
They don't break TOS. It's built in to the actually game itself under the go plus coding. The only difference between a gotcha vs a go plus is not having to hold the button down to catch as like the go plus.
Bro I had log with Gmail but, when I tap on settings and tap to create pokestops that shows log Whit Gmail . I am at level 39.
The intro says it all 🤣
Wait... Trainer club did it's own gotcha evolve?
Imagine someone yoinked your gotch's and fleed away during your distance test😂😂😂
your my favorite pokemon go youtuber everyone else is a poser that doesn’t know how to pronounce pokemon names and they clickbait so hard and there so cringe and obviously only do it for the money but your so professional and i love you keep making amazing videos never sell out like all these other fools
Who you talking about kid? Pogo RUclipsr or just pokemon youtubers? Just curious
Bro wtf 😂
Does the auto catcher perform while playing in go battle league?
Yes they do
It's so hard to find an autocatcher that doesn't cost a bazillion dollars here in brazil...
Great video. However, I am fairly certain all auto catchers are just a button to tell the game to catch or spin whatever is currently locked on. the speed of all these actions is only phone/ game dependent
exactly this, the only real difference I would imagine is connection dropout and consistency.
Semi true, I have a Samsung s20+ 5g now but always used the watch on my Huawei. I barely notice any difference in catching speed. I only notice that it stays connected longer.
I wanna get the DuoMon but its sold out :(
The Go-tcha won’t connect. Did they banned from Pokémon go?
Son has the gotcha evolve and the USB connector broke.
16:43 did anyone else saw the gun? PokeDaxi you good my guy?
It’s for a paintball… 🙄 you good dude?
@@cherrywilson6267 I know… it’s was for the memes, I don’t think they’ll sell an actual gun on Amazon
3 accounts. got a gotcha this year, not the trainer club, its faster catching and if using briefly each day its good . might of been unlucky with mine but reading comments a few have connection issues and bad battery life. Bought a duel to so then could get all 3 accounts catching , logged main and 1 alt to it and gave an alt the gotcha. if some days when think you charged gotcha you realise you havn't and dies quickly while duel goes all day for many many days as its on batteries. With go fest coming up the duel will be used all day both days just like for 6 hr com days which now gone. However my gotcha which dies after 3 hr no matter how long charged will be used only when needed ( ill need to make sure i charge after first day or it wont do anything 2nd day ) GOTCHA is faster, spotlight hr i find gotcha goes through everything so quick its really good for 1 account and limited play before recharge, duel 2x acocount slower catch but on batteries and will last which i find more important for me and tempted to get the 1 shown to replace gotcha for alt
Trainer club is the obvious choice in my opinion for the price. No batteries. Catches at pretty much the same rate it seems. I don't care about connectivity distance as it and my phone will be on me, and i don't care about dual connection or the voice. Cool options though if you have the money
Can we use Bluetooth headphones with these connected?
My Go-tcha works at the same time as bluetooth headphones
The trainer club gotcha is awful when connected to 2 devices. constantly disconnects. I ended up going back to the regular gotcha evolve
