  • I frequent this stretch of beach on my onewheel; a week after Ian passed I was finally able to get out and ride again. This is a raw unedited recording, so if waves, wind and crunching shells are not for you, may want to mute 😅.
Some places can see the naked infrastructure that was previously several feet below the sand and the destruction it did to the properties along the coast. I never knew there were asphalt ramps to the ocean underneath all the beach. These are the entrance ramps for the section cars are allowed to drive, usually under sand.

My thoughts are with those who have been affected by the recent hurricanes, but what is the answer to the beach erosion problems, just building it back up does'nt seem to be the solution.Hurricanes and sea level changes will continue and maybe worsen in the years to come

Between the hurricanes and all the meth heads i don’t see how Daytona can ever be rebuilt.

I frequent the stretch, looks like they are building back strongly and will recover. Improves a little more every week, steady stream of workers out there daily.
