- I took the seven mile bike ride from Daytona Beach Shores to Daytona's Main Street Pier showing every affected waterfront property. I tried to hit it at low tide, but caught it 1.5 hours after, so you can judge the beach / pitch. I was shocked at how many properties suffered extreme damage. Of note, I didn't capture my own building (about 6 buildings from entry point) was there was no way to access the beach. Nearly all of the access points are compromised.

Just got back into our 5th floor in DiMucci towers. It is heartbreaking what happened in "the shores". At least we still have the Cracked Egg.

Cas del Mar is where my husband and I spent our Honeymoon vacation 45 years ago this April. Plus several years after as well. Sorry to hear about your vacation being cancelled.
When did you film this cuz Ormond Beach already has new sand?
Thank you for the video. Can you please do one where you pan down the beach and back to the buildings? I’m trying to get my bearings and see how much of the sand/ beach is gone. Will we be able to drive on it anytime soon? Is there enough sand for people and cars?

Floroseven....I've watched so many videos since Ian and none go up as far as Casa del Mar or Ormond beach area. Would you consider an additional video for that area? I'm from Canada and trying to decide if we should come to the area this year.
Ormond isn't as bad as down here. Call your resort or AirBNB and ask. Beaches are fully open, so u should be fine.
So do you think my family should cancel our early April spring break trip? We stay at the Westgate property.

Thank you for the video. We miss our Sunday drives on the beach. Have you heard anything about what they are planning to do about the erosion to try to get the water to recede a bit?

I called the state and various agencies and got a comprehensive answer...holding off till I can make a video to show what they're going to do...its not a quick fix and not great news.

Dunlawton Beach access was allowing cars on the beach late this afternoon.

did you video the north side of the pier?
I did a bit, but I lost the sun behind the buildings....it was kinda cool too. 7 miles each way is about my limit and my bike's headlamp broke so I was battling that...next vid will be with the sun high in the sky. Do you need a specific building?

Looks like we need poured concrete all up and down in front of all these buildings because the ones that had strong walls did okay
I went to Embry Riddle years ago, still visit 1-2X per year, usually stayed at Nautilus. From a beach experience, would not be worth it, like laying on concrete. It will never be the same.

I actually have it "in the can". I did a full truck drive with my 360 cam for the 6 miles or so about 40 day ago. Shall I edit and post or make a new one this weekend?

They should not be charging people to drive on the beach since it is the only way to get onto the beach!
they do charge, and no, you can absolutely walk onto the beach at any of the access points.
