MommyLife & Beauty I'm from west Texas and we eat it like that too. It's soooo good!! You should definitely try it one day. We leave the bolillo whole and put them in the oven so they get crunchy and toasty all over and then some add butter to the inside if they like...man I really want some now 🙃

Ok So 26+ years ago I was a young wife like you and tried and I just couldn’t finish making it. I love menudo but I couldn’t stand cooking it. You have truly motivated me to try again. I do believe that menudo is sold way way way cleaner then before. Before I had to remove the Gordo from it and so much stuff now it’s nice and clean.

Yay!! finally someone who says "french Bread" is used with Menudo. I am from El Paso, and we use toasted/buttered french bread, but here in Austin, they use corn tortillas.

Dunking bolillo into the menudo is the best. But I guess it depends on where you are from. When I first moved to Texas from Chicago, one of my friends who ate menudo with tostadas looked at me crazy when I asked if they had bolillo or french bread so I could dunk it.

I've never cut it in half like she did, we usually put the whole bolillo in the oven, let it crunchy and then make a mess like savages 😅

Menudo always tase better with pata it’s so good and gives the menudo the flavor. And in Jalisco where my family is from they don’t add hominy. That’s the authentic way. But I’m sure yours is still good 👌🏽

I’ve never heard of eating menudo with bread. That’s so cool how different regions eat it differently. We just always used corn tortillas and now I’m interested in trying it with bread. 🙂🙂🙂

That's the only way I've ever ate or heard any1 eat it. Dipping the bread sucking up the juice it's so good.

I used to get flour tortillas all the time. I tried the bread and it was a total game changer.
