- We removed the door panels on our Volvo 850 to clean them but found two new problems… We also installed a new towbar and rear bumper brackets. We also reinstalled the rear bumper and upgraded our 850 with an air cabin filter.

Project’s Background Story -
On February 21 ’09 our dad bought this ’96 Volvo 850 2.5L 20V estate. The Volvo has a big emotional value for us and seeing the car sitting still for so many years and watching nature taking over broke our hearts. After nine years, and sitting outside for 7 of those 9 years, we finally got our hands on the 850 and brought it back to its home where we will restore it to its former glory. Once we finish the restoration, we intend to make a road trip and keep in the family for many more years to come.

Just replaced my dented drivers side door. Love that they are so easy to remove, almost like a Jeep. The bumper brackets are on my list. Great job!

What bolts do you need to install the tow bar to the frame? M12? Do they need to be OE-made so some special ones or to be tight-threaded ?
Hello, we bought an original tow bar from volvo which included all the bolts and brackets. I don't know the size. Also I don't know if you can buy them seperatly.
In my experience if you buy a new tow bar (any brand) everything is always included. Atleast in the netherlands.

The short answer: we would really love to!
We really like working on this car together and the whole proces of recording, editing, etc. and learning as we go. The only issue is that with restoring this specific car, money is not really a subject because of the emotional value it holds for us. Of course, if we decide to do more projects then there's a financial aspect which we do have to consider. And that brings a lot of other questions and decicions along with it, which we are thinking about right now. So yeah, we would love to and if we see an oppertunity we definitely will 😊
