Congratulations Jacob & Lucas! Too bad about the weather and lack of views. A lot of walkers don't even make it past Kitchen Hut in winter so well done 👍
Cheers... Yes lots of coffee required! Don't think I'll be doing this one, too many people on this trail usually... I've seen videos where the huts are jam packed full of people... That's not for me 😂. However, I've just finished the Frenchmans Cap multiday hike in Tassie last week... Much less trodden.
Great video! Last time I was there, I was very disappointed. my wife and I and 2 daughters just wanted have a quick look from the lookout and maybe have a look at the boatshed, late one afternoon. Apparently we would have had to pay to go on the shuttle bus to do this, but we were too late in the afternoon anyway. Too many boom gates, too many shuttle buses, too many regulations for me! I don't know if I will ever go there again. Too many other amazing places to see in Tas with far less regulations!
I agree that this one is way too restrictive, not to mention that it's not free except during winter. Plus you need to buy a Parks Pass! I just did the Frenchmans Cap Trail in the Franklin Gordon River area last week, and that is right up there for great multiday hikes in Tassie with no special requirements.
Beautiful part of the world but way to over regulated. Good onya both for getting it done. #Tip Your regular thick hiking socks then bread bags then a thin pair of dress socks. This will keep your feet dry all day everyday and makes a massive difference to your enjoyment.
@jelbuilderfilms I spent 28yrs hiking the peak district in the UK where rain is the norm,so you have to adapt, and the bread bags were the most functional bit of kit for me.
@maccaoutdoors2889 wish I tried this tip on my Frenchmans Cap multiday last week... My socks were drenched. Will let you know when I do and how it went👍
@@jelbuilderfilms you have to use the thinner sock over the bread bag otherwise it will not stay in place with just the thicker hiking sock. PS.just make sure you take the bread out first.
What a great achievement boys! Loved the video and thanks for bringing us along.
That was awesome! 🙌
Thanks for the share mate, I did 18 years ago, it’s great to see the track again
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for checking out the vid👍

Yeah... they did really well! They did mention stories they've heard about what you just said.
Great video guy's, so inspirational to get me motivated🤙
Thanks Ben... they did really well on this adventure!
Great content mate. What a great trip. When are you going to give it a crack Johnny ? Plenty of "cups of joe" would be needed 😆

Hmm.... I've never read of that tip before, but I'll be giving that one a try. Thanks!

It's pronounced "Key-or-a". Means "hello" in Mauri. Would be cool to do it in winter! I did this probabily 26 years ago.
