    The sound of the birds in the morning was amazing. All those waterfalls were great. I'll have to try a trip out there some day (maybe next year)!

    Just a spectacular place. Was at echo point campground a year ago same day that hiker fell & he was lost for a couple of days. Chopper was flying around even into the night. Not sure if you know but the black canyon area is now completely closed off. You can only access with a permit. Apparently there are near-threatened plant species there. Such a pity as I was looking forward to going there but navigating in via a different route. I'll just have to go on one of the guided walks to the canyon that O'Reillys does. I do understand though that some areas are best kept isolated as much as possible from human activity. You only have to look at all that pink pvc tape these inexperienced people keep tying to trees - this rubbish will end up being eventually washed down into creeks. Anyway, glad to see you got in to the canyon before it was closed off. I must watch your video on it.

      Yeah, that was Rory Lane... Poor bloke almost died on that hike on the West Canungra Creek circuit. Black Canyon is a fantastic but extremely difficult journey with no official trail there. Not one to take on lightly no matter which approach is taken.

    Ha ha, loved this one. Good mix of scenery and gasbagging. One of my favs is one of those rice bags with a can of coles/woolies brand chunky chilly tuna mixed through it and you will even save another dollar! 🙂. Captain Cookie named it Mount warning in 1770 after nearly hitting the reef off Fingal head. Was in cloud last time I did this one, but have been planning an overnighter for the last year so this is good inspiration to do it And I even got the missus to watch and she reckons she will come!! Wait till she hears those Yowies outside tent at night eh. RUclips needs a quality hike through, Oreilly's to Xmas creek. When are you going to do it!?

      Thanks Paul... Yeah, these rice bags are so much better value than those dehydrated bags for $14! Glad your missus wants to go... Until she hears the Yowies😂
      Yes, I'm planning on a through hike retracing O'Reilly's route from here down to Stinsons Wreck and down to Xmas Creek soon. Just trying to figure out the car shuffle... or considering hitch hiking🫨 That should be a good adventure to show

      @@jelbuilderfilmsHitch hiking in those parts might not be a good adventure (sure I heard dueling banjos the last time I went to Xmas Creek)! If you are desperate for a lift, I could probably help out (depending on when you are doing it).

    Did you have to book that campsite?
    Btw captain cook named Mt Warning back in 1770 to warn other ship captains of dangerous reefs along the coast.

      @jelbuilderfilms  4 месяца назад

      Yeah, generally you need to book their campsites using the QPWS booking system. Thanks for the info re Captain Cookie

    That's a great camp table. Can you let me know the name of it, or will I have to wait till your review?
