Last summer I decluttered my wardrobe and did the math on how often I wore things. And guess what? It came very close to 20% (all or most of the time) and 80% (rarely or never). So, yes, it showed me how very little I need in my closet! Fun and thoughtful video as always, CK!!

I 80/20 my junk food by only buying it when I can share it with two friends at once. It means nothing goes stale and I never over eat. But also I never feel guilty for treating myself if its shared!
I like this idea. Focusing on less things but more value, reduces mental and physical clutter. Great video
I love the idea of applying this rule to relationship time and work productivity! But I gotta say that fact about 20% of people owning 80% of the land makes me burning mad. Inequity is serious problem in this world.

Minimalism is just a noun we use to describe the process of applying the Pareto Principle. I think a lot of people aspire to be minimalists because they admire those of us who are decisive. No one really likes to see themselves as crippled by paralysis.
I think this is a great way of putting it. Perhaps that’s what we subconsciously want.

Hey CK! I guess for me, 80-20 of digital minimalism that you mentioned in your video. Similarly to the next person, I probably use 5-8 apps on a daily, while the rest of them are just taking up space and my energy. I want to do a RUclips video about digital minimalism, but would feel like it’s just creating shortcuts being reactive instead of proactive. Also, I guess I’d say for being in school it’d be 65-35, where I’m spending a lot of time doing work, and not really retaining as much from lectures or outside sources that aren’t assigned/graded. I need to focus more on my skills, hobbies, and relationships that bring me joy and not waste my time lol. Thanks for this video it was 🔥🔥 as always!

I'm an android developer, and in my work it's the same pattern: 20% of your time (which is usually architecture/planning and basic code) outcomes 80% of result, and the rest of the time is just small improvements and fixes
I had the same thought about relationships halfway through the video, and it's funny how you really covered it later!
When I actually think about it, this fits perfectly into my life. This video has connected with me and made more sense to me than any video on this topic in years. On point!
I love your thumbails. You put the exact right amount of work in them, I'd say. Thumbnails are also what takes up a lot of my time in the editing process. But I've come to really enjoy it as the final step before publishing.

The best rule for me is "one in one out". But I also think 80/20 is meaningful. By the way, adding some humourous details is really good for the content's video.

I have heard of the Pareto principle before but I didn't realize that it can be applied through the ways mentioned in the video. Great work as always!
Great video just at the right time for me! I'm working on something that takes some time but is not really visible (looks like 20% of the work) but I know it actually is the 80% of the work. I'm trying to keep being motivated by thinking that the results will come eventually!

I see 80/20 coming up in my work as a PhD student. But it's more like 90/10! There's so much junk to do with emails, grading, and stuff that just doesn't help my research or teaching.

Pareto principle is one of the "normes" I used at work and for my personal life. But there's some stuff I don't use in my room but need for my psycho state.
For my phone, I used this pareto rule every month ! And emails as well works by the pareto rule !
