"Not a criteria, but an inspiration". That sums up the minimalist movement: open to all, minimal definition (hehe), and the focus on the individual journey by using the collective experience as inspiration.
I know im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the account password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
@Josue Issac I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
I'm glad I found you. Because of you, I started my minimalism journey. As a Sri Lankan, it is so hard to be a minimalist. So I created my own ways to become a minimalist. I think I can do this because minimalism is a tool. 😍
"There's no good or bad - it's just how you want to live your life." - CKSpace, 2021. Awesome and empowering video. Also, now I want to visit Singapore! Your cinematography is stunning.
I struggle with many of the same things you discuss in this video. It was truly learning that minimalism is a different journey for everyone that helped me change my outlook. Your comment about living as a minimalist vs. living as an aesthetic was the most impactful statement in this video for me. I kept going round and round about having "too much stuff" after numerous decluttering phases. Now I realize, I'm not trying to live the life of an aesthetic monk, but of someone who isn't ruled by stuff. Thank you for these insights.
Love your overall personality and attitude to minimalism🤩❤️ Hammock is unfortunately not for me because of my bad back but I’m considering sleeping on the floor😁✨
It's soon a year since I first started with minimalism as a way to simplify and de-stress my life. Some of the mistakes I've made were: Comparing myself to others, thinking at one point that there is only one "real" minimalism, not listening to why to what is really important for me and why I started this journey. Really inspirational video which got me thinking again about the different ways how minimalism can look for each person.
The best thing about this channel is how grounded it is. The majority of the content you post is achievable/approachable for the 'average' viewer - that's your greatest strength, and it's something a lot of channels miss. (Just my opinion of course :D )
I feel you. Got into the same trap and felt unhappy with that state. The worst thing is comparing yourself to others and taking care of things like "you can't be minimalist if...". I consider you as the "youth of minimalists" because you know younger people struggles as well. And thanks to you I know that my journey is going pretty well even though there's still much work to do! I love how smaller number of things can truly show who we are and how better I can express myself with less mental and physical clutter
I don’t know if I can consider myself a minimalist person but I have seen a lot o videos and blogs about it and certainly have started decluttering mainly my clothes (I used to have a lot and also to buy a lot). I think the mistake I have made is that I get angry at my family members for having a lot of stuff that it’s not necessary or they don’t even cheerish but as you said, they are not minimalists, I even doubt they know what it is lol. Now I only try to do it for me, in my things and with my life
Thank you, I realized that I was more focussing on removing the bad things in my life instead of what makes me happy 🙏 simple but relevant ! Changing the focus and the point of view is always the key !
I truly enjoy your videos! Please keep up the great work. Minimalism is supposed to make life much easier if not taken too seriously, so it’s up to us what we get out of it!
I'm so glad someone finally said it! RUclips videos are there for inspiration in our own personal journeys. We can apply what we like, and pass over what we don't! Thank you so much for all your hard work and wonderful videos. Thank you.
I'm glad that i'm not the only one who did this kind of mistakes, so i don't really feel alone walking down this path. This is one of the reason why i love your videos so much, you always honest about your personal journey so people can always relate to it and not just sprinkles it with the good stuff about minimalism, cuz yeah everyone is imperfect right. Stay healthy and keep inspiring! ❤️
I love that you addressed the asceticism vs minimalism issue. I find this is often the confusion people not on this journey have about why one would want to "live like that". They think it's joyless when for me, it's about controlling my anxiety and clearing my distractions.
I just threw out 70% of my stuff, and I'm so proud of myself. I've known about minimalism for about 2 years, but only know have i gotten myself together to do it. Thank you so much!!
Cheng ~ This video is encouraging and inspiring. Each of us is on our own life journey and you generously help us move forward in our lives. Thank you for sharing how to be kind to others and more kind to ourselves.
Thank you so much for your quality content. We are all on different life paths and have different destinations. When I started to minimize my belongings in 2016, I decided to focus on making my lifestyle simple, peaceful, and better. I learned later that it is a journey and a process. I learned, and continue to learn, from others' messages and life lessons, and I take what serves me, makes sense, and leave/ ignore what doesn't. I also careless to fit in someone else's definition of what a minimalist is supposed to look like and how he/ she should live. Thank you again for raising awareness about this topic.
You are the one whom I can trust at any point of minimalism. Love the way you explain it all . You are the most inspiring person I have ever seen on youtube ☺❤!! Love from India 😊
I consider myself a sustainable minimalist, which is a framework I find very useful. But there's so such thing as perfection within it, and I'd have low self esteem if I drove myself too hard with it, because I regularly don't live up to any standard. But as you say, it is a tool, a useful perspective. I don't expect everyone to be a minimalist, but intensive consumerism and shopping obsession are damaging, so the more these ideas -- not the aesthetic of minimalism -- grow, the better, in my view. Marie Kondo was the first person I heard say that if want to get others to tidy, start with yourself and set the example and maybe you'll inspire them (paraphrase). And I've also learned that my family comes around when they see the difference these tools make to our living environment and finances!
The whole ignoring the identity element of it was/is what makes it easier for me. I think people love to indulge in the "What does it mean to be a [insert abstract identity]" discussions .... when in reality, it is not that deep. As for mistakes, throwing away some of my thermal tops in the summer lol. It is toooo COLD right now
Please make some videos about Singapore like things they have done wonderfully Like how they eliminated homelessness and unified many people from different cultures to live together peacefully
Love the video, love your editing! Mhmmm... my minimalist mistake was throwing out some papers i really needed them after. 😂 Like some documents, but when i did it i said: " didn't used them at all, so they are useless therefore they belong in the trash can, i need to declutter everything" 😂😂😂😂I spend a lot of time doing them again. So be careful about what kind of papers you declutter 😂😂😂
Really good video! I love how ur willing to put yourself out there, vulnerable and all, by sharing ur "mistakes." We all make them, brave of u to identify & share! (& for the record, my greatest mistake in minimalism was to declutter other family members possessions based on what I saw as unnecessary for them. BIG mistake!!!😱& that ties into "being judgemental" as well. I've learned to only remove my own things, when necessary & cope with different lifestyle choices by NOT judging them based on my beliefs. Love ur RUclips channel & will continue to support u in "likes" bc you add value to my life in what u share, & how effective ur style of vlogging is! Great job!
I’ve been interested in minimalism ever since moving out of my moms home for college. However, an art major I have so much stuff and have to keep buying new things. Even if I gift old/unwanted stuff to new freshmen there always seems to be “to much”. This video inspired me to just do it my own way :)
Really agreed, Chen Minimalism is our "boundaries help" to achieve our goal, yet it's unique to each person. Anyway, your B Roll its always refreshing, and have great point of view. Always waiting for your new vids 👍
Ayyye my like brought it up to 1K!! That's a good feeling right there XD Also this is very true and I've had these same problems. Great work with this video, BTW. Fantastic shots!
Thanks for sharing. I think my minimalism mistake is start counting and setting a limit to my clothes. Really, it's ridiculous to me, especially as an office worker (who still WFO even during this pandemic), I don't have that many... it's just enough. Now I hold back my urge to declutter, or else I will only have 1 pair to use everyday.
yes, I find that knowing the "why" is what keeps me going when I kind of loose focus or motivation. Had to, and probably have to, adjust that from time to time. I like Heal Your Living although and because it is very different from my life, and through that quite inspiring. About minimalism as a hobby, nice that you pointed that out; hadn't looked at it from that angle, and kind of fits with your first point i guess. Also, nice class selection and video style! :)
"It's like a finger pointing to the moon. Don't focus on your finger or you will miss all that heavenly glory." - Bruce Lee Great video and excellent account of your journey living as a minimalist.

Minimalist Mistake: Giving away “ things” that held $ + sentimental value and recipients not expressing even small gratitude -We’d minimized art, handy tools’ significance + they’re weird about saying thanks, as if they felt beholden to us. We’re letting it slide and trying to be gracious . Things go to another home

Happy New Year! Wonder what are your thoughts about Essentialism vs Minimalism?
Happy new year! Shall work on that in future video! Thanks for the suggestion!
I stopped watching RUclips from this video because covid has hit me very hard. Never thought my life will change drastically in such a small time.
Minimalists are challenged by children, a family, a husband and possessions ( no matter how basic) are still markers for different stages of life. Now, finally, my children are grown, my husband is dead and I’m now returning to a single life. Bye Bye to the past 40 years...mainly because no one wants my stuff.
