I didn't trust that a track would hold someone's bodyweight as their foot rolls over it but as long as you cut the shim piece for the front side of the track its solid, pretty genius design
Even better you can cheat the track a tiny bit to a true 45 if you have a miter on the nosing or deviate the angle on the track so you know what to cut at if it's not a true 45, I like em a lot
My assumption was that it's okay to glue down the flooring on stairs because stairs are relatively narrow and you wouldn't see much expansion. I really hate stepping on that raised nosing in my bare feet.
@@utubewillyman yeah this is mainly for banisters and such like that. Even with that the manufacture wants to glue the plank down to their flush mount, which is very problematic. I agree with you about stepping on that hump
Should there be a concern about using a piece of natural wood to wrap in these flooring skins since natural wood tends to expand and contract more with temperature and humidity changes? It seems like the bond could possibly become weak and break over time.
@@Michael_78 I have not seen any issues this far. I don’t think there would be enough movement and such a small piece that it would matter. I started wrapping wood about three years ago maybe a little longer.

Zamma makes the best transitions, and they have the snap track nosing which is awesome, leaves room for expansion and all that good stuff
