Hi from the UK. I have enjoyed this video. I visited Japan back in 1967/8, things have changed a bit since then. I like Kyoto and I hope to revisit some day. This video showed the 'everyday' scene which was most enlightening. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
I mean it helps to not live in a country that used to systematically enslave people to the point that there's permanent subclasses of people :) Countries like the US have reaped what they've sown. How could it have turned out any other way?

You are going to see these mini hotel rooms pop up more and more especially at airports. They have a real appeal for travelers in a bind and looking for a practical solution to lodging and not posh comfort. Sleeping pods and mini hotel rooms are the wave of the future.
Thank you for the experience and your genuine assessments. Truly, this video made me take my mind off stressful things and relax. I wish we had those here in the United States for homeless people especially. At least they could rest comfortably at night in peace and shower. All very affordable.
The vibe on the streets at night is really cool. Looks like a great place to walk around and explore 🙂 and sounds like the ad revenue must be good if you gave that guy a million dollars 😂 thanks for sharing 🙂
I was being "MrBeast" on that day lol. Yes, the night Kyoto has awesome vibes running around. I highly recommend you will visit Kyoto at night someday! There are a lot of local restaurants or pubs loved by locals.
Thank you. A true peek into another land far away. As others I’m so impressed with the cleanliness and efficiency of the hotel, restaurants and streets. My preference is on the other end of the spectrum: colorful, messy and-might I say it?-a little more interesting? But the hotel’s goal of providing a clean, comfortable, safe and affordable room was obviously met. Subscribed!
It seems the Japanese are very independent. I wouldn’t know if a hotel in USA with very little staff to monitor guests will work here. We have too much homeless and poverty.
It is everything I need in a hotel. Clean, quiet, comfie bed, shower, soap, toothbrush and even a light breakfast and coffee. I would stay here for sure.
I would 100% stay in a hotel like that. I wish American zoning and land use regulations would make such things possible, but we have comically bad rules almost everywhere. A place like this would be perfect for young people or for people who are travelling relatively quickly and don't need anything fancy. I'd love it if they had these at interstate rest stops for cross-country travellers!
oh nooo. if american zoning allows this, then most people wouldn't need to drive to get food and do fun things. so they won't sell as many cars, and won't use as many gasoline, so the ultra wealthy won't make so much money. that would be a disaster for them!!! #sarcasm.
2:04 During the check-in: "In case of fire, please shout "KAJI!(fire!)" loudly to notify neighbors and hotel staff." This made me laugh 😆another great video! 👍

Great, interesting, revealing and helpful video. So good -no bland, "its all about me" commentary. The hotel is beautiful, shame about no ensuite though. Thank you.
these small hotel rooms are better than most hotels in north america, in terms of the amenities. The rooms are efficient for a single business traveler.
This is a really wonderful thing, but it works because the Japanese people are generally very respectful and well-mannered. Imagine having this kind of busines in America. The place will be trashed. Reminds me of how my neighborhood looks now with all the new settlers with undisciplined kids throwing beer bottles and food wrappers everywhere. Nary a care in the world about cleanliness or orderliness or respect.
Not bad. For $26 a day with all that is included i would stay there permanently. Cheaper than renting something and you get basically free water, electricity, Internet, cleaning and so on.

This is so much nicer than US. Here, IF I found a state park campground, which is the only thing comparable to the same price, I’d get a little dirt lot with a picnic table, and a dirty bathroom where you’d be lucky to have hand soap provided.
I wish these were common in the US. Sometimes you just need to crash for 5hrs and it's ridiculous to pay ~100USD for a room a person could comfortably live in for months, to barely touch it. I usually will just sleep in my back seat and take a 5$ shower at a truck station, but I'd pay 20-30$ for a little more safety.

Its very odd they don't use a loft bed design where a desk is used under a bed so the bed doesn't use so much space. Some people use a bed on a lift so it can be raised to the ceiling when not used. Its the best way to utilize space in a small room.
