In this timeline, I'd imagine Corlys ending up with Emma Aryyn (basically swap spouses). It likely was his great plan to have dragon riding offspring someday. Jaehaerys did see the Velaryons as a valuable asset. I believe he did once present one of his daughters to Corlys in the past but she claimed "He likes his ships more than her."
Most probably an Essosi princess 🤔 Aemma could have been married to Daemon
@@maruty2108 Maybe...but first we have to ask when and why Queen Alysanne made the Royce match for him in the first place. Was it a political play, if so then it may happen again in this timeline.
@@thegreatpage5912 she did it because there was not other targ princesses and Rea would inherit her family seat, so Daemon could be a kind of consort, besides that no other reason.

She had an abundance of potential matches . . . over 17 of them and the Sea Snake was among them She did indeed lament that he was more interested in maritime pursuits than courtship with her. The Old King should have offered Princess Viserra Targaryen to the Sea Snake when she came of age at 14 but she had no selection whatsoever of potential matches unlike her older sister sadly 😢.
@@cliffordrose4335 The Viserra match make sense, I could see that. She would have been around the same age as Rhaenys. Trying to pawn her off on the old nearly dead Manderly lord, who already had multiple heirs of his own was odd especially coming from Alysanne of all people.

@@lisaevans2389 as the video says, Rhaenys and Viserys could have been married before she married Corlys and before Viserys married Aemma.
In the books, it's sort of hinted that Rhaenys's marriage to Corlys was only possible because Rhaenys asked her father when the two of them were at sea (ie away from court & the King). I always thought that was coz Rhaenys didn't think King Jaehaerys would agree to the match and then was forced to, coz his son had already said it was cool and he didn't want to go back on Targ words. She is the only female dragonrider to ever marry outside the family (even if the Velaryon's are pretty much kin). (I think this is a major factor in why Helaena marry Aegon II (and why they so young when it happens). Helaena is riding dreamfyre by the time she is nine or ten, former mount of Rhaena, another Queen-who-never-was of times past. You can't then marry her to a Lannister without worrying about eventual dragonriding westorsi coming to revolt against you.) I think the only way Rhaenys marries Viserys is if King Jaehaerys or Queen Alyssanne get there first and propose the match, making the two of them fall in line behind Prince Aemon (skipping Balon all together, he's a good Hand after all) and securing the Targaryen name for future heirs. Then Daemon marries Aemma later than when she was wed in canon & hopefully this helps her produce more living heirs. Becoming a mother at 13/14 is no good for anyone
YESSS!!! I've been waiting for this what if and you've pretty much hit it on the nose. I would like to add that instead of being thrown away to Lord Manderly, Viserra could've married Corlys since she's three years older than Rhaenys.
My only concern is that I believe the Maesters are responsible for Aemma's trouble with miscarriage and infant death. So that would now happen to Rhaenys.
I always believed that it was due to the fact that they got married to young, with Aemma being like 12 at that time and her initial pregnancies causing her to have damaged reproductive organs (as happens in real life) I am pretty sure its supposed to be a commentary on child brides.
Also the Maester theory doesn't really work out because Alicent had 4 children, and while she is a hightower the children would still be Dragon riders which would in the eyes of the Citadel be just as dangerous
Yes, but the Hightower is deeply connected to the Citadel and the Sept. The Maesters killed the dragons, according to Marwin, I think they wouldn't see Alicent's children as threats, instead they would be assets. After all, they all did pretty much exactly as they were told.
What I have often thought is that Viserys instead of sticking his head in the sand and pretending a problem didn’t exist, he needed to call another great council. He named Rhaenyra his heir when she was a child and before Aegon was born. He made lords swear to her. Lords that in the following decades got old and died themselves, leaving new lords who had not sworn that oath. He calls all of the lords together, tells them who to vote for, and makes them swear publicly right there. That way there is no disagreement about who is the heir. Also once he gets so sick that he is bedridden, he could abdicate and watch his successor crowned.
What if the Starks were brought into the Targaryen family and were given dragons because of Aegons prophecy?
I always wondered why Daemon had to marry Rhea Royce. Viserys already had a queen from the Vale, they didn't need an alliance with a less important house from the same place.
I always imaged that alyassne what imaging her great grandson with targaryen hair and bronze eyes wearing the bronze armor of house Royce and welding lamenting whilst riding vermethior the Bronze fury. Plus Daemon couldn't marry her daughter Gael who she clung onto until it killed Gael.
Jeaherys likely wanted great grandaughters to marry a son of Viserys to prevent the realms reaction to an sibling marriage under a much weaker king. Also it kept Daemon away from Kingslanding and the throne
The only other eligible Valyrian woman at the time was Gael, Alysanne’s last remaining daughter. I imagine she did not wish to marry her off, afraid of losing her. It’s the same reason I think Viserys had to marry Aemma who was 11 while Gael was 13.

This is what he should have done as by aegon the conquerer's own law lords cannot wage war without the kings permisjon.
The Stepstones are not a part of the Seven Kingdoms. Does the king's law pertain to foreign lands? Also, the Velaryons did have a good reason to fight in the Stepstones, the piracy was getting out of hand.

He never really “started it”. They started to steal his ships and goods, they also abducted men and women. He just finished what they started.
The going to war law is kinda only about Westeros. The step stones aren’t apart of Westeros at this time.
make a what if Aegon V didn't die in The Tragedy of summerhall, and had managed to hatch dragon eggs, let's say 3 dragon eggs to make it interesting, how would that change history from that point o,n with no one dying in summerhall and dragons returning to the world?

OK this is a what if I never saw coming, but I have a bigger question will you do a part 2 of the what if Deamon and Rhea had a son, because I really what to see what would Maegor targaryen second of his name the bronze dragon do in the dance, also I think he would marry Laena.

Your take on Jaehaerys the Conciliator is unfair. When Maegor the Cruel died, the rightful heir to the throne was Princess Aerea Targaryen. She was the eldest daughter of Aegon the Uncrowned. Eldest grandchild of Aenys I and the named heir of Maegor. Yet the Lords chose to crown Jaehaerys. That is a precedent. If Jaehaerys had named Rhaenys his heir then that precedent would have been used to start a war.So he name Baelon. The second time, when Baelon died, he called the great council. Since it was the Lords who chose him, he let the lord's decide. They chose Viserys. To say Jaehaerys did not think about it is laughable, considering how good a King he was.
