I'm fascinated by the possibility that after Rhaenyra runs away Aegon's inspired to do the same thing. In contrast to the usual problem of heirs struggling to take the throne heirs keep running away from it. If Aemond isn't born then Helaena would presumably be the (rather indifferent) heir. I fear this would probably end in a Daemon/Helaena marriage which probably wouldn't be fun for her. Still probably better than what she got in cannon.

The Crown will go after Cole hard. A kingsguard basically 'kidnapping' a princess...nay..not just a princess, but the heir to the crown at that. This is why I was thinking Criston was NUTS to even propose this. They'd hunt him down. Sure, Rhaenyra may be able to push back with Syrax but they will be on the run for as long as they live. Obviously Aegon would be the heir after this but Viserys would send people to go after them. Daemon might even volunteer for this hunt since he's less keen on having Aegon (a Hightower) on the crown.
They would never be able to ever settle down. The crown would hunt Criston to the edge of the world for oathbreaking and “stealing” the heir apparent. He wouldn’t last a year, but it’s debatable if Rhaenyra would willingly return. Also Rhaenyra would never desert Syrax, that’s pretty much her only bargaining chip and strongest weapons for all the shit they’d undoubtably face. A dragon riding Targaryen would be accepted and sheltered by any powerful faction in Essos, if not to give them an edge.
It would be able to maybe have a slight chance of pretending to be a wild dragon who moved to essos, that would probably be a good idea to hide her over there
In my head canon of this timeline, Rhaenyra gets Cristen to teach her to fight since they are on the run in a cruel world, but Rhaenyra plans for this when grabbing her inheritance-to-go taking jewels for her training knowing with her slight frame fight like a knight ain't gonna cut it paying for info about any female assassin's and sell sword ever reminding Kristen about her Tagarian history of Aegon's first Queen and wife( brain freeze can't remember her name) was a warrior of renowned who actually started the King's Guard
A Kingsguard breaking their oath is grounds for death/gelding. Stealing away the king's firstborn daughter/heir would be compounding that. Criston would be marked for death and have assassins following everywhere, like Viserys the Beggar King's fears made real.

I kind of love the idea of Viserys claiming Vermithor to search for Rhaenyra!! Especially since he rode Balerion 3 times around Kings Landing and that was it 😂 Put some fire into Viserys, him & Daemon get closer while on their searches for Rhaenyra, & then eventually she is found & comes back because the moment she sees & huge Syrax again she realizes she can’t turn her back on her Targaryen Legacy! But in this timeline Daemon becomes hand of the king & he also gets to marry Rhaenyra shortly upon her arrival back to Kings Landing. And this time Viserys properly trains Rhaenyra to step up to the throne & they do everything within his & Daemon’s power to get the realm ready for their first female ruler!

I'd love to see some "What If" videos based on Westerosi rumors, as in assuming the rumors are true. For instance, What if Jon Snow is truly Ned Stark's bastard?
I know little of the books except what I've heard, but it seems like Ned has recessive genes that defy our logic, due to only one kid looking like a Stark in the books. I think Jon would probably not look like one either. That being the case, he probably wouldn't be hated as much for looking more Stark like than the heir. While he would be Ned's son, he wouldn't be in as much danger, so he'd probably be fostered elsewhere to keep the peace within the family. I still see him joining the Nights Watch and not much else changing.
Daemon would never allow this to happen, he would hunt down Christian Cole, kill him, and return Rhaenyra to Viserys. He's not allowing a Targaryen Princess to live in poverty. Daemon would win in this situation because not only would he be back in Viserys' good graces but Viserys would be indebted to him. This means Daemon could finally get his annulment from Rhea and no one would want to wed Rhaenyra except him.
A straight forward what if, with Rhaenyra gone she leaves her position of power and Aegon is named heir. If her father is deadly sick and she hears of this I can see her visting him and consoling with her family and be forgiven and she would live the rest of her life in happiness. I like how u said their is potential of her future bloodlines advocating for the throne later but I would say the King will send Daemon after Rhaenyra and Daemon would choose to keep her choice secret and Daemon would plot to be on the iron throne.

Very Fanfic we esque but I'd love to write out some pondering about if Rhae and Allicent ran away after her mother died in childbirth before she could be named heir. Granted the only way two girls could get away with this is if she managed to go far enough away and had a dragon to help survive. But it was teased as a temptation in the first episode.
This hypothetical isn't one that I've pondered quite as much as others but some great ideas were explored. The key intriguing possibilites to me were: - Viserys becoming more obsessed with Rhaenyra which further burdens his relationship with Alicent, Aegon, Helaena and possibly Aemond - If Aemond is already conceived when Rhaenyra flees and Viserys stops having kids then that means Daeron wouldn't exist. He's arguably the most capable as a potential ruler out of Viserys's 5 kids which furthers the tragedy. - Rhaenyra's descendants trying to press claims or spark rebellion would probably not occur as peacefully as Saera's bastard sons. If anything it would probably be a rebellion that would be a mix of a delayed Dance & early Blackfyres - The Aegon and Laena match. Aegon may not turn out as terrible in this scenario but he will still be a man desperate for love. Laena might be the one to temper his vices and help him be a better person and ruler.
