    Very cool that this video got made!
    If Vaemond wins and House Velaryon has an internal schism but is overall neutral/TG then I see Rhaenyra forced to be more proactive with her dragons. Maybe she would even participate herself!
    I do see her also turning on her allies (North & Vale) for not being punctual sending their armies. I also see the war being cut short as TB would be reckless with their dragon power and may even dip their toe into scorched earth tactics (via Daemon, Jaecerys and possibly a spiralling Rhaenyra).
    The Greens would further spread the (not so inaccurate) image of "Rhaenyra the Cruel". Rhaenyra might be so despised by all that her allies wouldn't fight so defiantly after her death. Aegon II might not even be as harsh on her allies either as a result and maybe his reign lasts a few years longer. Maybe Aegon is able to sire a child. If it were a son, he'd likely be the new heir which leaves Aegon the Younger's fate something of a loose end...

      Her dragon is more a pet than a war beast, even Sunfyre in his short-live has a lot of battle experience. Unlike Syrax who just is a flying lizard

  • @VersieKilgannon

    I think it would have been interesting for Rhaenyra to have had an affair with one of Laenor's cousins (aka, one of Varmond's sons in the show). I wonder what Vaemond would have thought of Rhaenyra's sons being his grandsons biologically. Would he have still been so adamant to bar them from inheriting Driftmark if he knew they were his direct descendants?

    • @reagansmith9509
      @reagansmith9509 5 месяцев назад +9

      and the whole bastardy rumor likely wouldn’t be a thing, even if alicent was somehow tipped off

    • @Valentinianist
      @Valentinianist 5 месяцев назад

      Vaemond’s problem was that Driftmark was being given away to a child with no Velaryon blood, stealing from his family. If he knows the kids are Velaryon, even if they’re not Laenor’s, they still have a claim to Driftmark. And if they look Velaryon, nobody would ever know that Rhaenyra cheated unless she gets caught or is too obvious with her lover.

  • @davisiotta489
    @davisiotta489 5 месяцев назад +28

    a "what if" that would cause great changes in the events of the war would be if all of Viserys and Alicent's children were born female, I believe that Otto would try to scheme a usurpation in the same way but the events would be so different that I would really like to see someone exploring the impacts of this on the political landscape of wuesteros

    • @browniebear
      @browniebear 5 месяцев назад

      Well if Rhaenyra still has bastards in that scenario (which is likely the case) then that's the treason Otto will use to cast Rhaenyra out of the line of succession.
      That being said, it would be interesting how the Greens go about preparing the realm for the 1st ever ruling Queen.

    • @chrisanderson7258
      @chrisanderson7258 5 месяцев назад +5

      That may be difficult. Otto, for all of his ambition, is a man of tradition. He wholly believes that a son comes first before a daughter, at least in the show. Besides, he doesn't have much leg to stand on if he pushes for his granddaughters to be queen rather than Rhaenyra. The lords of Westeros won't give him their support either. The only reason some of them did was because Aegon was a man.

    • @davisiotta489

      @@chrisanderson7258 That's why I think he would go all out on an assassination plot against Rhaenyra rather than an opening war first.

    • @chrisanderson7258
      @chrisanderson7258 5 месяцев назад +1

      @davisiotta489 That's a possibility, but I think he would tell Alicent to have more kids with Viserys first and have a son before he orders the assassination. Show Otto, contrary to people's belief, isn't actually evil. Yeah, sure, he's ambitious, and he wants to have his own blood at the throne, but that's what every lord in Westeros wants. That doesn't make him a bad person, so I doubt killing would be his first choice in the matter. As long as there is a chance for Alicent to give birth to a son, he won't commit to a drastic decision immediately.

    What if Rhaenyra fathered her children with Corlys Valaryon during the time she was married to Laenor? ( she needed heirs, and Corlys is the closest male relative to Laenor)

    • @mandoslore
      @mandoslore 5 месяцев назад +3

      Laenor has male cousins. Why would Rhaenyra sleep with Corlys if Laenor has other male relatives??

    • @kleailia6332
      @kleailia6332 5 месяцев назад +7

      @mandoslore Corlys married his son to Rhaenyra so that he could be the grandfather of a future king ( i.e., the male children that Rhaenyra would have).
      Laenor is gay and failed to have children with Rhaenyra, so ....
      In my opinion, Corlys is a better option than Strong or any other potential baby dadies.
      If Corlys was the father, the children would look Valaryon, and he would have kept his mouth shut about the true parentage. 👍 It's a win-win.

    I would still argue that Daemon will still kill Vaemond because he like Rhaenyra don’t care about perception but I really like this video.
    The real question is will house of the dragon include the silent 5. They probably won’t because they want to make Rt the hero of the story n really don’t want to portray the blacks in a more negative light.

    According to Adal law vaemond doesn't have the best claim.Beala has it. In the law of westeros brother come before sisters,but daughters come before auncles.So after laenor its his sons, then Laena, then her kids then Vaemond.
