First came to Thailand in mid-80’s and lived & worked for a Thai company in the 2000’s - my feeling, bar girls have a different emotional tolerance than non-bar girl types. Of course not all Thai girls are the same, but from my experience it seems bar girls including freelancers can be more emotional and narcissistic.
He needs to avoid women entirely for the rest of his life in any form other than maybe friendly acquaintances. For a lot of men myself included it just doesn’t make sense to get too involved and if you’re not in your twenties full of hormones it’s best just to stay in control of yourself myself included.

I am from Brunei and have been staying in Phuket since April 2023. I have a son with special needs and I can't just up and leave my responsibilities behind. I'm not making money for me, I'm doing it for my family. One day hopefully living overseas will be a reality. We're doing well financially and get to travel to Bali twice a year but that sort of move is very expensive and it would be incredibly irresponsible for me to take my family overseas without some sort of nest egg behind me.

It was a tough transition, for many reasons. Do I harbor regret? Not in the slightest. My 2c on women: seems wherever you go, men and women are just different. Men are from Mars, women from Venus (it's a good book and worth a read). They have estrogen, ovaries: the woman's brain is physically wired differently to a man's brain. A marriage will always be a compromise. And men seem to be the ones' compromising the most. Up to each one of us, to decide if the compromise is worth it.
Good post but in all reality this quote "Men are from Mars, women from Venus" really does not accurately portray just how different the sexes are. Dude we are not even from the same galaxy let alone solar system.

I am from Brunei and have been staying in Phuket since April 2023. In January 2024 recently, I met a mancunion guy who has the same age as me and started on the day we met, we spent everyday together for one week. He had been dated two thai bar girls before meeting me and he had bad experience with two of them until he met me.

Money is important to me right now to support my family. I have a son with special needs and I can't just up and leave my responsibilities behind. I'm not making money for me, I'm doing it for my family. One day hopefully living overseas will be a reality.
We're doing well financially and get to travel to Bali twice a year but that sort of move is very expensive and it would be incredibly irresponsible for me to take my family overseas without some sort of nest egg behind me.
