  • 🔗 In this interview I meet Chris, a former bank robber turned dog saviour, to unravel the unexpected twists of his life's journey. At 28 years old, Chris was diagnosed with cancer, setting in motion a series of events that would shape his destiny in unimaginable ways.
🏦 Faced with the challenges of battling cancer, Chris found solace in the pain medications prescribed during his treatment. Little did he know, this seemingly harmless coping mechanism would lead him down a dangerous path of addiction, eventually pushing him to the desperate measures of robbing seven banks to sustain his drug habit.
⚖️ Serving a five-year sentence, Chris had a choice: let his past define him or embark on a journey of redemption. Determined to turn his life around, he not only secured a job upon release but also found a new purpose that would take him halfway across the globe.
🌍 Discover how Chris's life took an unexpected turn when he moved to Thailand and dedicated himself to the rescue and rehabilitation of stray dogs. From a life of crime to becoming a beacon of hope for these abandoned animals, Chris's story is a testament to the power of redemption and the strength that can emerge from the darkest of circumstances.
👁️‍🗨️ Join us in this emotional and inspiring interview as we delve into Chris's past, present, and the incredible impact he's making in the lives of those who need it most. Don't miss out on this tale of resilience, transformation, and the extraordinary journey that turned a bank robber into a hero for man's best friend. 🐾✨ #bankrobber #thailand #prison

I have one comment coming away from this interview. Through his darkest times, he was very fortunate in many ways. I tribute a lot to his parents. I believe that their strong social hard-working values somehow guided him out of this dark time. I smiled when he mentioned Anthony Bourdain, who was from the same area as him. Many of us were inspired by his travels. I just wish Anthony would have known how much he was loved by so many people around the world. We all know that Thailand is not for the weak. I hope he can stay strong and live true to his passions.

Pete, for me this has to be one of the best interviews I've watched, I certainly agree with you saying about not wanting to share a prison cell with the guy, he looks like a bad ass gang member, but seeing him now, he now looks totally different, he's had an interesting life & has been through a lot with cancer, drug addiction & prison, but it's good knowing he has come out of all this a better person, some of your other interviews I've watched I have come away with the impression that some of there recollections are sketchy & possibly fictional, buy this guy in my opinion is 100% genuine.....

My uncle did about a dozen banks in Florida and Arizona. He did a decade in AZ. He was like 18 when he was working. He was addicted to the rush of blow + welcome to the jungle + cash. He got out of Florence around 2003. He did well for about 15 years until he started slamming H again, and they found him commitose in his car in a park. RIP uncle Ben. BTW, this dude didn't explicitly say it, but bank robbers are the top of the pecking order in prison. He was modest.

What about the cancer? I mean he had stage 4 with Mets everywhere and big ones too sounds like. He's given oxy for palliative care essentially so I didn't really understand when he talked about that only being appropriate for people terminally ill since that's what he was it sounds like.
So stage 4 just went away? Really confused.
Wish Pete had at least asked about that.

@@jefflinton Honestly I can’t remember. I was so freaked out I just went along with whatever the doctors thought would work best. That’s the best way I can explain it my friend

      @@christhaipherThanks for replying Chris.
I wasn't meaning to quiz you it's just that part of the story wasn't clear to me. I understand that all this stuff tends to get jumbled up over time, which is why I'm sure you said stage 4 when you just meant metastic testicular cancer, as there is no stage 4 with testicular cancer, its staged differently than other forms of cancer and the highest is 3 and its subsets.
