Met Pat briefly on a ferry boat in Bangkok last year he was taking a couple on a tour, really nice friendly bloke, maybe next time I'm. in Thailand I'll arrange to go on a tour of Bangkok with him as I was totally lost last time I was there. I'd love to know more about the city & explore it with someone who has his knowledge. Pete & Pat keep up the good work. 😀👍
I think that both of your respective views of Bangkok have their merits. When you both have a tube out simultaneously it's great. Pat = factual, historical and allegorical. Pete = experiences, conversation and handy hints & tips for Farang.
2 legends of the game !!!!!! What a time the late 90s early 2000s were in BKK internet cafes were a must !!!!! Pats seen a lot of changes . The Paris story next time I have pizza 🍕 I will think of that 😂😂 great part 2 Pete and in another few years a part 3 !!!!!!
I am looking forward to meeting Pat next week. I agree that he puts 100% into his content, but what I really love is that just when you are getting comfortable he takes you in a completely different direction. His Khlong Toei video is proof of this. I just wish he would do more music videos, they're perfect for Friday night chill out drinks.
Really looking forward to this one Pete, I'll watch when I get some peace and quiet. Good work getting Pat to interview. His vlogs are really interesting, he's possibly the best Bangkok 'RUclipsr' there is.
Awesome interview! I just started subscribing to Pat's channel a couple months ago and happen to be in Bangkok now travelling so this is serendipity! I love these stories. Coincidentally, I have been travelling/living abroad the past 7 years due in part to randomly meeting a British Expat in Hong Kong bar back in 2007 - and for some reason, his stories and experience convinced me that it was the Expat life for me when I became older. I just finished travelling to 106 countries over the past 4 years (a lifetime dream come true - and yes, straight through the worst of COVID when I was stranded in Malaysia for 6 months) - maybe you should interview me while I am here, haha!
I used to work at a school he works at. Sharing the lunch room with him but for the time I was there I did not know his other occupation or interesting stories and did not get know him much. Having gone through the similar shit hits the fan situations, I wish I got to know more about him at the time. Yes those hard times are the things that give you experience you can not buy and need to thankful for those experiences also.
Pat - I got to tell you this about one of your Cat Co-Stars! I was at the Hua Lamphong Train Stn and just decided to pop in for an ice latte at the Amazon and met your co-star hanging out at the upstairs coffee shop! He's a cool 😎😎cat! Cheers 🥂
I love Pat's channel. He covers the quirky and unusual sides of Bangkok. The cats that appear in his videos is what I like about his channel. I recently discovered that he is half-Thai. I've always suspected that he is.
Pete hi 👋 have you and wife moved back to Thailand? 🇹🇭 the Irish ☘️ winters are not much fun , I’m in Belfast looking forward to gettting out of here soon 🔜
Haha brings back memories I arrived in Thailand 2002 I think. I never had a phone for 2 years in Thailand I remember using those pay phones on the side of the road finally after 2 years in got a phone which helped meeting the ladies hehehe
This was as always a very interesting interview, and especially because you are again in my favorite park. I have seen him doing his work while doing my exercise in the park🙂
Pete, a Very nice interview with a nice and Interesting person, Pat. I follow his channel, and he has always very interesting story’s with his real comments. 🙏
Good talk, Pat has got a very unique channel very intresting. If he wants to get into movies he should do a remake of Planes trains and automobiles centered in Bangkok.
Yup, NASA Vegas hotel was quite run down. The cheapest room has a muskey smell back in early 2019. The amenities around the area was still decent. Fast forward after COVID, i noticed that the block across the road was abandoned perhaps scheduled for tear down. Wish that the BTS station could be more lively though. Dont know how Starbucks managed to survive at the bts shop without shutting down.
Pat and Pete! There are no BS about any of the two of you. Both channels are in the "must-subscribe" category for those who really want to understand Thailand better from a farang perspective.
Hey Pat You got to check out the Bangkapi Mall sometime. They just finished renovation of the whole Mall inside and out. It's like a 5 star Mall now. They also got the new Sky Train Yellow Line up and running in front of the Mall. 👍
Just when I'm thinking I possibly couldn't consider Bangkok Pat any cooler than I already consider him... He rocks up to a Thairish Times interview wearing a ROBBO t-shirt!
Love Pat’s channel. I really don’t like cities but he makes such interesting content that it inspires me to spend more time in Bangkok. 100 times more interesting than the last numpty Pete 🤣 Loving the In country content ❤🇹🇭
I'm 3 years younger than Pat and came to Thailand 2 years later. It's a rare thing for someone to stick around for that long. I no longer stay in Thailand full time as the work opportunities seem limited.
Absolutely loved your interview! Pat is definitely an grand artist, every one of his videos has so much perfect cinematography… love ‘em! Thanks for letting us get to know him more.
there is bangkok pat..and there is otr food n history..these two channel surely booming in the future..their ability to digging into thailand past is amazing..the fact that they are foreign and they dont simpy rely on internet stuff but exploring and dive into the culture to make the story... beautiful..irish talk😅..you will be there..just don't make thai impress too much..😅
When I say Pat is a newcomer to Asia, I realize that all is relative. 2003 is just last year, to me. Personally, I first visited BKK in 1971, and that was a totally different scene with the GIs and the girls hanging on their arms, especially as they sat front-row at the Muay Thai arena in Bangkok. Those babes of yesteryear were the cream of the crop, so to speak, at that time. I would be happy to do a video interview with Pete, if I were not such a bore. I have spent all but 7 of the last 52 years in Asia, mostly East Asia, up until the day I decided to move to Thailand, forever. I will say that much of the Asian culture has been lost from many Asian cities, such as Yokohama, Tokyo, Kyoto, Taipei, Shanghai, and especially, now, Hong Kong, may it rest in peace after the commies marched in. I feel great nostalgia for what once was before the hippie backpackers began arriving. So much to tell, and so little time. Maybe I would write a book about those times, if it were not for the fact that I am such a bore. Good Luck to all....and.....Chok Dee!
@@ThairishTimes No. Actually, credible. And also boring. No matter what you might do...after a while....it just gets boring. The only fix for a bored feeling is...to teach. Hi Pete Enjoyed your interview of Pat, everytime I come across a stray dog on a visit to Thailand I remember Pat's story of being bit and having to get rabies shot at the hospital. Cheers.
Yes a true legend. Bangkok Pat is one of the best. A refined humour that tempers a serious dialogue of enlightenment, dipped in cold hard truth. On tall stories that cling to bar stoolers.......they are merely a measure of the IQ's of those listening 😉🤣
Pat, you are correct, when you love cats they can feel it and know it. Pete when I used to go home to Ireland my mother hated cats. Every time I went home they would come around and make friends with me and only when I was around. One morning someone left the back door open and a lovely white cat comes in the house, avoids my mother and finds my bedroom upstairs. It was freaking funny trying to get her out without the mother knowing. I told her about it later when I was safe back in New York.
Pete you would like an old friend of mine Sir Peter Moon this bloke has a fantastic back ground. I first met him in Phuket Patong when i was in the beer bar business in the 90s He had a Bar to It was in the papers in the UK when his then wife cut all his Saville Row suits up and poured acid on his car wrenching the paint work He moved to Bangkok around 2000 about the same time has me. Not see him for a few years now but a right good Crack .
@ThairishTimes I know he used to get in chequers bar on Soi 4 If you went and asked they might know where he is. He's married to a Thai and has a stunning daughter
@ThairishTimes Pete found out he passed away age 80 in February this year. RIP Peter Moon If You google his Name it brings up his passing and about his life. I remember him saying about a TV interview. He was asked how he got on with a young Thai wife. He told them verticaly it was abit of a challenge. But horizontally it was fantastic. He never took life seriously. He had one of the first internet sites about what was happening in Thailand .
As a real ex cop many have said they can't see me as having been one. It can be easy to judge based on a personal opinion. Not so much to do a bit of research.
Pat's videos are very cool. I feel like his videos have a small flavor of the British alternative rock scene (david bowie, the clash, etc.), but from more of a historical documentary point of view.

Great interview Pete. You bring out the best
Thank you !!!!!
Another good one
Pat does the such interesting, documentary style videos on Bangkok that no one matches, in my opinion.
For real, and his voice fits it perfectly too
Yes, and he’s so humble.
Pat is by a country mile the number in the Thailand vlogger. LEGEND!!!
Have you seen OTR Food and History yet!
Bangkok Pat and his black n white cat. No one comes close to Pat for his meticulous planning and knowledge of the city ❤️🇹🇭🙏
Bangkok Pat is the number 1 Thailand Vlogger! Great coop getting him on your channel!
One of the few Thai vloggers making interesting content is Pat.

Now this is the interview I’ve been longing for…Bangkok Pat is awesome 🎉
Love Pat's channel, it's so educational for somebody that likes history or contemporary social life in Thailand, particularly Bangkok.
Great!!! Was waiting for this one !!! Thanks, nice to see you two !!!
I'm a huge fan of Pat's videos. His style and depth of history, along with the music are very special. 🙂

Great video guys, Pats videos seem to give great history of Bangkok, that’s what I personally like , and the cats of course 🤣

Interesting interview and like the honesty
Interesting interview
23:23 Love the cat videos
Cats are better value for money than dogs, if I had a dog it would be an alsatian or German Shepherd, and of course some cats as their mates
