Posts like this really do clarify the need that people must do their own research before they Travel to Countries they never visited before. And part of that research needs to be into understanding what to look out for, in order to protect yourself.

You kind of contradicted yourself in your sentence. You say that they’re complex but then go on to say that all they want is money ( which I agree with btw) the fact is women are actually extremely easy to read and predictable. they’re not half as complicated as they’re made out to be. They only appear complicated to men that don’t have anything to offer them such as good looks, money or status. If you have at least one of those things then women come in abundance and nothing will be particularly complicated. For men that have nothing on offer will often feel frustrated due to the lack of attention they get from women or constant chasing they have ti do in order to find a mate and that is where the false notion comes into play that women are complex creatures. They’re absolutely not, they’re actually very predictable.
I don’t think the issues are exclusive to Thailand. The issues that Dan describes is easily observed in the Western world also. Just try and choose carefully and take your time doing it. Also ask yourself if you are really ready and mature enough to have and hold a good relationship.

Yeah honestly don't get these guys. Here in the Philippines met dozens of women not a single one has ever asked me for 300 pesos. This guy doesn't seem to understand that you don't need to live in Isaan to find the quiet life in Thailand. I spent years in the Nong Chok district of Bangkok which is full of rice fields and village life. Then I moved to a quiet inland Phuket moobahn with mountain views and only one bar within the local neighborhood. I'm only 15 minutes from the beaches and tourist nightlife if I want that though.
100% agree, me and the wife live in Lat Phrao and just feels like any city suburb and a million miles away from the tourist side of BKK. what i've noticed from most of these videos is men just not being fussed about the relationship they're in. they seem to get married to these thai girls but assume the relationship will fail from the start. I can't imagine any of my western married friends talking about their western wives like these guys do - basically saying well its sort of fine, not great, but I can just leave if anything get hard. None of them seem to be in actual loving relationships. i don't think i've heard one man in any of the videos talk with any sort of affection or love about their wife. it's like they're a vague acquaintance. I lived in Thailand for a few years: 2004-2006. And I didn't buy into: "The Man needs to pay for Everything!" etiquette. However, if I went on a date with a Thai lady I feel obligated to pay since they are generally poor. On the other hand, I've also met Thai women who were educated in the West and adopted the Western ways of 'Women's liberation" where they even offer to pay on a date. I was confused about this social etiquette: Is it a real social expectation in the Thai culture or is it just plain BS? So I just made a judgement call case by case. It's worse than that, Leigh. They are simply not exposed to films, books or travel in the first place so they are unable to discuss those subjects regardless of language. Those things are culture specific, although the Filipina Pea RUclips channel shows that at least one woman in the Philippines could discuss them with you. The appeal of a Thai woman isn't intellectual but they can be very companionable when they feel like it.

Men settling in Thailand are typically seasoned, 50+ years up. If they haven't managed to establish a sound relationship until then, likely they can't do it in Thailand. Once the pay for play thing is over, the relationship deteriorates. If they aren't single when they move over they are at risk of messing up their current relationship. Thing is, the entry barrier for getting to know a thai woman are lower...a few weeks or months into the game the strings are being pulled. The best thing to do is to het to know a nice woman in your home country and move over to enjoy Thailand far off the bar scene. Imho.
What Dan mentioned was spot on. If you go to Thailand and lead with money, you'll attract the type of women or people in general who are attracted to it. You don't go out in your own home country and flash with money, right? Because then the same thing can happen. When I met my wife in 2010, and we would go to Big C to do grocery shopping, I would show her what average products would cost in the Netherlands and she would find out pretty quickly that Western people aren't rich, but it all comes down to how much you get to spend once you paid all of your bills. My wife was renting a room in Bangkok for $100 a month, and the house I was living in would cost $500 per month. So if you just make them aware of those little things, it could turn up quite differently.
You just have to go and experience Thailand for what it is. Get off the plane at the airport and go exploring, whether it be exploring the hinterland of Chiang Mai or exploring the bar scene in Pattaya, Bangkok etc. The opportunities are endless.

100% they have picked the wrong woman, most guys simply have zero radar when it comes to woman and Thailand simply amplifies these issues due to the access you are afforded via money. I live in a nice area here and I have been with my wife for 11 years, I have been able to provide her with a pretty luxurious lifestyle despite not needing to work she has chosen to go out and sell real estate as she wants to create a career for herself. I offer to buy her things like Louis Vuitton handbags even a BMW and she is simply not interested, its refreshing. I have quite a lot of friends with similar relationships, but you never hear anything about these type of Thai girls because they are very uninteresting, we just live normal lives. I believe you reap what you sow, and bar girls are a very poor starting point and so is a forty + year age gap.
Maybe you are lucky? I know some wealthy Farang guys who have 'invested' in a local lady. It's great whilst they are around but as soon as these guys 'drop their guard' the 'girls' flirt about, join the card games and go drinking at bars! What you said at 12:00 about age gap and 18-year-olds being different in Thailand is misleading. There isn’t has been many celebrated marriage with huge age gap’s in all cultures. It can work much better than the alternative so often. And saying Thailand 18 year olds are mentally different is a kind of politically correct discrimination. People are people everywhere. You’re obviously not atune to the culture enough to see that an 18 Year old Thai can be living just as full of an emotional/mental/social life etc as other countries 18 year olds.
If you can't live in Thailand on a $3,000 a month pension, something is seriously wrong. I get by just fine with 40,000 baht and it's a pretty comfortable life. Now, if you are going to be drinking all the time and wanting to eat western food, it may be a different story, but you are going to have to try really hard to blow through 3K in a month. You gotta be really financially stupid and clueless for that to happen.
There's a myth that many Thais believe -- all 'Farangs' are walking ATM's. If you have at least one of those things then women come in abundance and nothing will be particularly complicated. I don’t think the issues are exclusive to Thailand. The issues that Dan describes is easily observed in the Western world also. Just try and choose carefully and take your time doing it. Also ask yourself if you are really ready and mature enough to have and hold a good relationship.

Yeah honestly don't get these guys. Here in the Philippines met dozens of women not a single one has ever asked me for 300 pesos. They have pride and are ashamed and refuse when i offer them $2 for their bus ride home. Every other girl i need here is putting in 10 times more into the relationship than i am. This guy doesn't seem to understand that you don't need to live in Isaan to find the quiet life in Thailand. I spent years in the Nong Chok district of Bangkok which is full of rice fields and village life. Then I moved to a quiet inland Phuket moobahn with mountain views and only one bar within the local neighborhood. I'm only 15 minutes from the beaches and tourist nightlife if I want that though.

what i've noticed from most of these videos is men just not being fussed about the relationship they're in. they seem to get married to these thai girls but assume the relationship will fail from the start. I lived in Thailand for a few years: 2004-2006. And I didn't buy into: "The Man needs to pay for Everything!" etiquette. However, if I went on a date with a Thai lady I feel obligated to pay since they are generally poor. On the other hand, I've also met Thai women who were educated in the West and adopted the Western ways of 'Women's liberation" where they even offer to pay on a date.
I was confused about this social etiquette: Is it a real social expectation in the Thai culture or is it just plain BS? So I just made a judgement call case by case. Of course if you're with a bar girl, you have to pay for everything!...LOL. But outside of the bars, it's open to interpretation. If I met someone that has a job sometimes they would offer to pay, but as I stated I do feel obligated since Thais are generally poor, just don't want to be treated like a walking ATM machine!

It's worse than that, Leigh. They are simply not exposed to films, books or travel in the first place so they are unable to discuss those subjects regardless of language. Those things are culture specific, although the Filipina Pea RUclips channel shows that at least one woman in the Philippines could discuss them with you. The appeal of a Thai woman isn't intellectual but they can be very companionable when they feel like it.

Men settling in Thailand are typically seasoned, 50+ years up. If they haven't managed to establish a sound relationship until then, likely they can't do it in Thailand. Once the pay for play thing is over, the relationship deteriorates. If they aren't single when they move over they are at risk of messing up their current relationship. Thing is, the entry barrier for getting to know a thai woman are lower...a few weeks or months into the game the strings are being pulled. The best thing to do is to het to know a nice woman in your home country and move over to enjoy Thailand far off the bar scene. Imho.

What Dan mentioned was spot on. If you go to Thailand and lead with money, you'll attract the type of women or people in general who are attracted to it. You don't go out in your own home country and flash with money, right? Because then the same thing can happen.
When I met my wife in 2010, and we would go to Big C to do grocery shopping, I would show her what average products would cost in the Netherlands and she would find out pretty quickly that Western people aren't rich, but it all comes down to how much you get to spend once you paid all of your bills.
My wife was renting a room in Bangkok for $100 a month, and the house I was living in would cost $500 per month.
So if you just make them aware of those little things, it could turn up quite differently.
You just have to go and experience Thailand for what it is. Get off the plane at the airport and go exploring, whether it be exploring the hinterland of Chiang Mai or exploring the bar scene in Pattaya, Bangkok etc. The opportunities are endless.

I live in a nice area here and I have been with my wife for 11 years, I have been able to provide her with a pretty luxurious lifestyle despite not needing to work she has chosen to go out and sell real estate as she wants to create a career for herself. I offer to buy her things like Louis Vuitton handbags even a BMW and she is simply not interested, its refreshing.
I have quite a lot of friends with similar relationships, but you never hear anything about these type of Thai girls because they are very uninteresting, we just live normal lives.

What you said at 12:00 about age gap and 18-year-olds being different in Thailand is misleading. There isn’t has been many celebrated marriage with huge age gap’s in all cultures. It can work much better than the alternative so often. And saying Thailand 18 year olds are mentally different is a kind of politically correct discrimination. People are people everywhere.
