The street walking scenes are interesting. They give a fuller view of the country to those of us who have never traveled there. Great work, as always!!

It`s unbelievable how AM and PM can be a problem, and why some countries use it. Everyone should use the 24 hour clock, like most European countries do, problem solved. 4 o`clock in the afternoon, is 16.00, period. Never ever a problem that way.

The guy in this last story got off easy. When you get angry, lose your temper and damage property in these Asain countries you usually pay a much higher price. Thank God the Thia man decided to leave. Many times, these Asian guys can fight. Even if they can't honor and pride run high for many of them. This guy was blessed just to fracture his heart.

All Banks in Sweden have online service so You regulate Your self where Your card is valid. So normally I block my card for all countrys except the 4 Nordic country . Then I open it for Thailand when I go. And close it for Internet shopping. ...I can't believe that You have to talk to Your bank when You travel, so 90-th....We live in 2024 ;-)
Believe it or not I used to talk to my bank in the UK every time I left the Thailand but obviously living here now I don't do it I once have my card blocked because they said it was suspicious Behavior they didn't know I was here I don't mind the hassle because they're trying to protect my money
Great stories, in story 2 unless a family member picks us up from Suvarnabhumi airport, normally costs us 350Baht to Bangkhunthian plus 50B for tolls in a Taxicab, another tip is make sure the driver switches the meter on, the flagfall when the meter is switched on is 35Baht. That trick with going up to departures to get a taxi, they wised up to that, they've installed one way barrioers, so you can't just walk into the taxi dropoff lane. With luggage weight, we have digital scales, and I allow 1 kilogram for inaccuracies, I find the weight with the scales doesn't match with the check in scales which is higher. If my wife and I check in together, one of our bags is usually less than the other, so the total combined weight is acceptable without having to transfer between cases.
The guy in the last story turned into a SIMP after learning she had a boyfriend. It is hard for anyone to be beholden to someone living far away. He should have understood this last point before leaving his home country.

Americans! The world and airport can´t adabt around there crazy Imperial system and AM-PM. It´s only about 20 countries that use AM-PM. Ireland is the only contry in Europe that use this crazy AM-PM. :) If you have 24 hour clock no people make a mistake on the flight ticket.

14:34 If you are holding a 10.000 USD flight ticket then it is a 1st class ticket and you can in most cases just phone the airline and tell them to rebook it (any time before departure). That is one of the many perks of holding a 1st. class ticket, total flexibility, that is partly what you are paying for, not only a big seat and access to a lounge, but flexibility.

I've had the same problem with several of the things said, wouldn't let my wife on the plane cos she was a day short of 6 months, nearly every time I've tried using cards they've been blocked,in spite of telling them all about it before, can be a real problem with the timezone. The changing flight times still happen. I had a flight home out of phuket in Feb 2022. They changed my flight time from 130am to 1015 pm, 3 hours and 15 minutes earlier while I was on my vacation. I showed up at the airport at about 10 pm. I was told I was too late to catch my flight since they were already boarding. I had to buy another ticket to get home for $1100 usd the next evening. I was pissed. So the story author is right, check your flight times continuously, or it can become a hassle and cost you.
Same thing happened to my daughters when they recently visited me they were supposed to arrive in Bangkok at 7:00 p.m. which would have been perfect but they didn't get here until just after midnight ruined the entire evening
Happened to me Siam Reap, flight bought forward 2 hours, we arrived and never in my life before arrived at an airport, got checked in, through customs and in the plane seat in less than 5 mins, it was like being a fast tracked VIP, luckily the airport was empty and flight had a hand a handful of people lol

Taxis: Steer clear of those yellow and green Taxis. You = FARANG = RICH PERSON READY FOR PLUCKING. MONEY EXCHANGE: Be wise and exchange in your town BEFORE getting to your departure airport or at your departure airport. Get small notes and a couple of B100 bills. If arriving at BKK there are Limo service places for a 1 (single) person. NO having to sit next to a smelly drunken YOBO annoying you with his or her piffling rants.
I ain't saying that it isn't possible to find a good thai woman for a healthy long term relationship. I'm saying that it's high risk, it takes too many to weed through, too much work and you'd be burnt out by the time you entertain dozens if not a couple hundreds. Therefore, the squeeze is NOT worth the juice!!!

I take out 30,000 THB from the ATM. 220 baht fee is peanuts and there is no way I would travel with cash in this day and age.
My bank refunds all ATM fees based on thr type of acccount I have.
