Just found your channel and just subscribed too! This video about Naples came at the right time as we will be on a cruise and docking there in a few months. Thanks!
We came by a cruise ship and hired a taxi to take us to Pompeii and it was great. However the taxi driver talked us into going to Sorrento first. This was a mistake. They are both great places to visit, but in the short amount of time on shore the ship gives you, you can’t do Pompeii justice. I felt rushed and disappointed at my time at Pompeii 😢.
Yes, I completely get you, it takes at least half a day to properly visit Pompeii. My visit was also disappointing because the rain was pouring as you can see in the video. Hopefully, next time I go, it will be better 😇
thank you for your video, very informative! i’m going on a cruise this july and I was wondering if it’s easy to fine taxi rides to and from the train station as i’ll be visiting amalfi for the day and i don’t want to run late
Hi! Thank you! You'll find many taxis in front of the terminal, but most of them offer tours and transfers to further destinations like Pompeii, Amalfi, Sorrento, etc. But sure, I believe you'll be able to find those willing to take you to the train station. July is the high season in this part of Italy. What's your plan for Amalfi? The best option is to visit Amalfi by boat because local SITA buses are extremely crowded and ride takes a long time because roads are narrow and traffic is congested. If I were you, I would consider taking a train to Sorrento and then a boat to Amalfi. Or, if you find a good deal, book a tour to Amalfi, but Amalfi only. Because sometimes taxi drivers offer the option to visit both Sorrento and Amalfi for example, and then you end up rushing in both locations. I hope this helps! I wish you a wonderful cruise!😇
Wow, awesome video! Thanks for sharing. How far is the walk from cruise Port to Galleria Umberto? Also is there a lot of restaurants at the Galleria Umberto? Thanks in advance and best regards.
@@jasondelprado1562 You're welcome😊 Thank you! In Naples, the cruise terminal is in the city center, so you can walk to Galleria Umberto, it's only a 10 minute walk. Thr Galleria is on Via Toledo, the main street, so there are plenty of shops both inside and outside the gallery. Have fun! 😊
If you go to Pompeii on first Sunday of each month, you will receive free admissions include the Villa plus there were shuttle bus in front of the cruise terminal entrance, you pay only 20 Euros for the shuttle bus round trip to Pompeii,
I would say it's the same as in Rome, Paris or Barcelona... Naples is really dirty and crowded, but not much different from other big European cities. Just keep an eye on your belongings and everything will be fine. I was in Naples alone for three days and traveled to Sorrento, Pompei and Salerno, everything was ok and I felt safe :)
I was there three times on a ship and never had a bad experience. As long as you move around touristy areas, there are no problems. Of course, the city is very crowded so you should always keep an eye on pickpockets.
@@aynrandfan7454 I agree it's dirty, but on the other hand the city has great vibes, a lot of culture, friendly locals and amazing food. It's really an authentic city but I understand your shock lol 😃
Thanks for sharing. The information is very good, and I also liked your tone-of-voice. Thanks again!
Thank you! :)

How much was it for the Taxi? Was it easy to get one?
@@jaquelineamarante2907 I think it was $150-200. I really can’t remember. They are right out front of the ship.
Love the information, however it would nice if the important location names were displayed on the screen.
Thanks for the suggestion! 😇You have it in the description under "Video Chapters", all the locations are listed there.

Don't be fooled .It's one of the most dangerous ports in the world for tourists.
