    Great video! Thank you for not apologizing for the raw and gritty nature of Napoli, but instead celebrating it. I got a much better idea of which sights will be my priorities while I'm there by watching this video than by reading many guides. Grazie!

    Naples is probably the urban area with the greatest tourist offer in Europe, it has everything (or almost everything) impressive archaeology, artistic palaces and churches, panoramas and coastlines, picturesque seaside villages and much more. If it weren't for the bad reputation of crime it would deserve the same tourists as Rome and Paris

    I lived in naples off and on January-October2021. I recognized some of your footage from that time and have almost the exact same opinions as this video. Thank you for talking about this wonderful city! I just have to disagree with the honorable mentions. I think the duomo is so stunning and definitely worth a visit. Plus the Complesso monumentale donnaregina museo diocesano is right around the corner and was our favorite collection of art and architecture. Also BABÀ is to die for idk what you mean. But everything else SPOT on. I always rave about Napoli to people and defend it when people say skip it and go to amalfi coast. Also another fantastic spot is the Naples archaeological museum. Fantastic collection from Pompeii

    Here's a summary of the top 7 things to do in Naples, Italy, according to the video:

    2. Eat authentic Neapolitan pizza: Try pizzerias like Gino Sorbillo, Starita, and L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele.
    3. Take a sightseeing tour of the historic center:
    - Piazza del Plebiscito
    - Galleria Umberto I
    - Castel Nuovo (exterior)
    - Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo
    - Chiostro di Santa Chiara
    4. Visit the Royal Palace of Naples (Palazzo Reale di Napoli): Spend at least 2 hours exploring this grand 17th-century palace.
    5. Walk along the Lungomare di Napoli and visit Castel dell'Ovo: Enjoy the seafront promenade and explore the ancient seaside castle.
    6. Explore iconic Naples streets:
    - Via dei Tribunali (known as "Pizza Street")
    - Spaccanapoli
    - Via San Gregorio Armeno (Christmas Street)
    7. Honorable mentions:
    - Via Toledo (main shopping street)
    - Naples Cathedral (Duomo)
    - Try Neapolitan pastries (especially sfogliatelle)

    - Explore the Royal Palace and Gardens of Capodimonte
    The video emphasizes experiencing the authentic, gritty side of Naples while enjoying its rich history, architecture, and culinary traditions.

Santa chiara was rebuilded after war but had lost all of baroque art and paint of the most famous painter of italian hisyory like giotto that came there for painting it. As the baroque and other stile or some painting over the year were added, but we restored it only how it was when this building was originally thinkes, so this building lost almost all the paint and hundrend and hundred year of modification.

    We just tried to see the sunset at Castel St'Elmo, but as it closes at 6.30 we couldn't achieve this. The sunset was around 8.00pm so in summer Item no 1 is an impossibility.

      I'm really sorry to hear that, we visited in the winter so it was timed perfectly. That's really a shame, they should change their hours for the summer. It's still an amazing view that I recommend checking out though, regardless of the time of day!

    The city looks crowded, small streets etc... are there public restrooms while one is walking around sipping coffee?

    • @WanderlustWellman
      @WanderlustWellman  Год назад

      The city definitely is a bit crowded in some of the smaller streets, but to me it just adds atmosphere to those areas! I'm honestly not too share about the public restrooms, but I'm sure you can use a restroom at certain shops, cafes, and restaurants

    Ciao. I am a food blogger who lives near Naples. Please don't say that if a pizza is more than 6 euros you are getting ripped off. Maybe specify that a 'Pizza Margherita' or Marinara is usually around that price? If other toppings are added, the price goes up.

    • @WanderlustWellman
      @WanderlustWellman  Год назад +1

      That’s a great point, I should have specified that I’m referring to those types of pizza, thanks for the comment!

      @@WanderlustWellman Please don't think that I was criticising. The next time you are in Naples, why not try Pizzeria Petrucci which is in Piazza San Domenico Maggiore. They even accept reservations and have outdoor seating in one of my favorite piazzas.

      La baba is a very well know Italian pastry soaked in rum. You can get it it in almost every pastry shop in Italy. My Italian husband loves them "ma per me sono troppo dolce." Gesù means Jesus and is pronounced J-zoo .

Very short time for each section with fast narrator talking. Slow down man. We can not remember anything from this video at the end of it.
