Hey, do you know if this works on monitors that supports only progressive resolutions(minimum 480p)? My monitor does not supports interlaced resolutions like the 480i from PS2's menu and some games but I want to display those too if there is a way through conversion or anything.
Hi! I can give you a definite answer that no, this will not de-interlace 480i content sadly. Cheapest way to do that, that I know of, would be to get GBS-8200, but without mods I would not recommend it. Other solutions are 100$+. Ask me if you wanna know more.
@@PrimeRetroGamer What about the "HDmatters 5 RCA Ypbpr component to HDMI converter" if you know it? Its very cheap on Aliexpress and has very good reviews(the link won't work if I insert here). Is this going to convert/de-interlace the 480i signal for my monitor? The GBS-8200 you mentioned has no HDMI, I'm looking more for a component to HDMI device. Unfortunately I'm limited to Aliexpress for my city, had too many failed deliveries from Amazon and many other websites. Tried to order a Portta scaler if you heard about it, someone told me that it will fix my issue but unfortunately it cannot be delivered so now I'm searching for way more alternatives that are like max 50$. Thank you!
@@NightCoffeeX Look for ones that have 1080p/720p switch or button on them, they will upscale. Not sure about the one you mentioned, can't seem to find it. But keep in mind that those converters are not that great in my personal experience. But that's better than nothing. Honestly, I wish I went the more expensive route from the beginning. I was not satisfied with cheap solutions. I wanted to save money, but in the end I paid extra anyway. Well, at least I can help someone with this stuff now. From AliExpress you might want to check out retroscaler2x. It's basically a RetroTink-2X ripoff. While I don't like their business practices of bootlegging another product, I can understand where you're coming from and this might be an option if it goes on sale.
4K still processing... My first BitFunx adapter died, I got a replacement and it's not much better than the first one, besides dying in a couple of minutes. Also, random flickering is not an issue with capture card.
*_#thanks_*_ - reply me - Were you running the resolutions natively ie 480p..? - Is it true that the bitfunx adapter darkens the image less compared to the ps2 to hdmi - .?? - Save my life and answer in detail please because I want to buy one , But I'm in doubt between bitfunx or Ps2 to hdmi - Not to mention that the price difference between the 2 and something to repair and observe can answer me please .. ??_
480i. bitfunx adapter darkens the image as much as the PS2toHDMI adapter, or at least very similar. bitfunx adapter is honestly not worth it at all. PS2toHDMI adapter looks just as good if not a bit better. And not because of the darker image, but because of the image noise. It's hard to see in the video, but it's very noticable in person.
@@PrimeRetroGamer *_#Friend_**_ Deke_*_ - Thank you very much for replying quickly and with rich details - I have the 2 products in the Cart, both Bitfunx and Ps2 To HDMI - More undecided because I've heard dozens of reports from people who say it darkens the image and it's amazing that it seems I heard someone say that this doesn't happen in Bitfunx , So I'm hours watching comparative videos and looking for all kinds of information possible - Thank you very much for your analysis and opinion_
@@Andre-Cardozo- No problem, let me know if you have any other questions. Also, I had one bitfunx adapter die on me. That's worse than darkened image. :D
Video compression does it's thing, but if you look closely, BitFunx adapter shows a few issues. Take a look at Tekken footage at 4K in fullscreen and do a few pauses. 5 bucks adapter looked horrible on my TV. BitFunx is not that much better than that. I might have to do a different style comparison, with zoom and pauses.

@@PrimeRetroGamer Strange, because the part actually has good reviews and I'm satisfied too. I know it's not the most expensive cable, but it does a good job for me so far.
@@Bazkkaja just my luck I guess. I'm glad that it works for you! Maybe there's a lot of interference in my setup. I got an OSSC in the end, so now all my consoles go through that. If you have multiple consoles, that's the way to go, I think.
@@PrimeRetroGamer perfect. This is certainly very good in terms of quality, but also expensive. Of course, on the one hand, I need a separate adapter for each console, but on the other hand, I would need an OSCC + component/composite cable for each console + component/composite switch. So I decided to switch all my consoles that don't have HDMI to bitfunx HDMI modules.
looks the same for me, you won't notice while playing
