These basic HDMI solutions I like them a lot !
The ending to your video was epic. Lol Til next Friday 😂😂
Sweeeet I just bought a ps2 and forgot to get an adapter, your video just saved my life right now, thank you !
Now I want a Playstation half.
Isn't that the PlayStation classic? :-)
@@TeamPandorywell yeah basically the smaller PlayStation
I love how professional you sound except for some long text, lol.
It''s great these exist. I've kept a big screen CRT (I think 40") TV for my playstation. I even got the reverse: an HDMI to component cable so I could hook my old Xbox to it once I bought a Series S (It squishes the image with some black bars on the side for some reason, but otherwise OK). What a great time to be a gamer :)
Increíble!!
Muchas gracias por la información
Gran vídeo amigó
If you get an OEM modem you can upgrade it with a SATA adapter & keep your network ability just like the slim model its 20% slower IMO but worth being able to access my SSD from FTP
Okay, i have a problem. Looking by your video capture, it's clear that the image colors look correct in all the adapters. I have two adapters, one is bitfunx hdmi adapter for the playstation 1/2 and the other is simply called "ps2 to hdmi". In both adapters, the image colors are all slightly messed up, the blue looks green, the green and porple looks grayish and the yellow is very light, while red is the only color that doesn't change that much. I don't know why that is and I'd be thankful if anyone can tell me what's the problem
PS2 to HDMI from bitfunx is excellent and I use it without power supply, without the USB cable on my ps2 slim and it works perfectly
Silly question, have you tried the 2nd adapter on PS1 as well(set to rgbs)?
Why you cant test in progressive scan mode? Or 1080i in granturismo 4
Does the PS2 only version works with PS1 games inside PS2?
What about 1080i and Gran Turismo 4? the one I have couldn't pass through 1080i for some reason.
Silly question but I'm still going to ask.
So if the adaptor is ps2 only, can I play ps1 games on the ps2?
Or do I have to use the ps1/2 adaptor to play ps1 games on either console?
Playstation 1 games should always work on a playstation 2. I don't think I've run into any exceptions to the rule yet. If it runs on PS2 the adapter will work the same no matter whether you have a PS1 or PS2 game in there.
@@claudiak6443 that is not true. ps1 games on ps2 run in 240p RGB mode which most adapter cannot convert to usable image on their hdmi output.
latency testing these would be very interesting
Thing is monitors don't help me because i use a TV but this video gives the best representation and comparison so I'm screwed 😂
I’ve found for these older consoles a good crt is hard to beat.
Sounds like a challenge! :-)
You're not wrong.
What they were designed to be used on after all.
If my ears weren't sensitive to the screeching I'd definitely get one after moving. These solutions are great for twitch and youtube though. much better than regular av to hdmi adapter boxes which distort the colour heaps
CRT is not good for long gaming hours though, consumes lots of power
@@blockchainoverdrive6090 a 29" crt consumes less power than a 55" oled ....
I was looking into getting the second one, but do ps1 games work on the ps2 console with this adapter
I Have this doubt too, can you find a solution ?
The first adapter he tested showed him playing PS1 on the PS2 with the YPbPr selected, BUT it had washed out colors and a dim image. The last two do not work with PS1 games on the PS2 as they do not support the PS1 resolution.
What did John Luke say about my mama!!!!! 😂😂
He says a lot of things. I'm unsure how many are true though.
Does the "older adapter (PS2 only)" have a better picture than the newer adapter (PS1/PS2)??? 🤔🤔🤔
If you mean those in the video, yes.
I use the ps2 to hdmi without the USB cable and it works great
Question. My lg monitor doesn't get any sound when. I connect the ps2 with the bitfunx. Picture is fine. But I can't figure out the sound.
Does your LG monitor have speakers?
Which to choose. Well... considering that none of them has a selectable aspect ratio (on them, at least), the is choice is Numero 2... maybe.
That's the one!
So how does the Retrotink 4k / 5x pro compare to other adapters and mod s? from what i have seen the Retrotink is awesome (and no soldering )and portable. Also allows PS1 games to display properly on modded PS2's USB/HDD etc
Apparently the Retrotink 4k / 5x etc, are higher quality, covers many systems (and video modes), but with it being far more expensive, it niches down the product making it good for those willing to spend the same price as a PlayStation 5 on an upscaler.
These dongles are simply a one trick pony, for one purpose.
@@TeamPandory i will buy the 5x Pro, i have al the consoles and Amigas etc., so it will be worth it as basically the cost for upgrading all of them will reduce the total cost per console proportionally. Delivered to Canada will be $ 379 USD.. My soldering skills are good but i am getting too old now to get the enthusiasm to tackle the big jobs :)
@@kipper2k use case will depend on if it's worth it or not, would be interested of hearing what you think of it.
@@TeamPandory sounds good, its now ordered, email says up to 2 weeks for shipping, probably longer, will give me time to sort out all my better cables :). I'll let you know results
I think it is similar performance as ps2 to hdmi converter(not bitfunx) what do you think
Yeah, probably very similar
I was looking for a converter to hdmi that I can use on my pc monitor but since all of these can't force 4:3 then I guess I'm screwed and have to play via emulation for now.
It is possible if you pass the video signal through an OSSC, but it really doesn't do much for the aesthetics of the system. It's a shame that these products seem to not care about how the image should look on a modern 16:9 screen
@@TeamPandory hmmm, an ossc is pretty expensive and I don't think anyone sells them where I live.
@@Enzed_ if I find something cheap, I'll post it up on the channel.
You can get ossc units from AliExpress
Is that a problem? I always prefer to play old games in 4:3 even in widescreen because it's more nostalgic for me
@@muaddib5079 I'm fine with 4:3 as well but some converters stretch it so it doesn't look like 4:3 anymore.
None of it have resolution scaling to 720p or 1080p?
I'm pretty sure that only the first one scales to 1080p. That would explain how only this one works re: PS1 resolutions and the others don't.
Will watch this later.. I use a Rad2x retrotink straight to HDMI.. Will be interested to see how this fairs
I tink it might be worth a try 🙂.
How much did the retrotink set you back ?
@@TeamPandory £50 from Retro gaming cables UK.. line doubler lag frer
Hello everyone, this is very similar to the kaico cable, does anyone know whose is better? kaico or bitfunx?
I have Kaico cable it dose native output so its one good ones personally I would'nt upgrade but the bitfunx dose seem to have better color & contrast just a little bit I need test it on my OLED before I think about upgrading just think after buying a few of these you in price range of a internal HDMI mod lol
Is there any adapter on the face of the Earth that is capable of accepting the 1080i of Gran Turismo 4 and if possible, PS1 games too on PS2?
Retrotink seems to be one that supports 1080i.
@@TeamPandoryHello, I bought this Bitfurix adapter for PS2 only, tested the 1080i of GT4, and to my surprise, it worked perfectly. The 1080i signal is even detected by my 4K TV, and the image quality is excellent!
@@MoisesAlmeida eyyyyyy!!!! Awesome news 😁
nothing can beat a Sony Trinitron crt with a component cables
the ps2 wasn't meant to be played on a non crt tv
When the PS2 released, there wasn't anything but CRTs. :-)
But yeah, it doesn't hurt to find a quick solution to play your old games.
Not only Sony TV were good, Grundig, Philips, Telefunken and Samsung were very good in time of CRT-TVs
Pls make video on retro gem
You sound like the British 'how it's made' narrator.
Yeah ... That's what... Uh. What? :-)
Pretty sure the problem with the color is just a mismatch between color space in the different devices
these devices struggle to convert RGB to a watchable image. but even YCBCR mode is useless due to stretched image... (most TVs cannot switch to 4:3 or not without added lag).
what modern tv do you use? is it set as 480p
Sony bravia 40" that's like 12 years old... Or a computer monitor. Yes 480p / standard video modes
Can i Play with á ps2 á ps one Games with the Second
Need one as just got n graphics not clear
but the first adapter is mean to be for ps1 ? itr says on the site if you want a better resolution for ps2 take the second one
The first adapter is meant for PS1 and PS2 which is why it has the RGB and YPbPr switch on it. you can either have it hooked up to a PS1 or PS2, and will allow you to play PS1 games on your PS2, the last two will only work on PS2 with PS2 games as it doesn't support the resolution that PS1 games output.
Sadly, the first one is absolutely friggin horrid for PS2. I was pleased with how this dealt with PS1 (goodbye OPL GSM 1080i), yet this adapter renders PS2 barely better than AV. It has very visible scanlines and ghosting, not to mention washed out colors. So, as lame as it is, I'll keep my old black PS2HDMI (adapter 3) for PS2 and use adapter 1 for PS1 games. The silver lining is, it allows you to play PS1 on PS2 over Component which adapter 3 doesn't do.
In the first adapter to get the best quality you must select YBR in both (Ps2 and Bitfunx adapter).
Similar like kaico
Why cant i find a good ps1/ps2 adapter....
PS1 and PS2 use a slightly different video output to get the best picture.
PS2 only you'll be good with the adapter shown in this video... PS1 is best with svideo if you can find a first release PS1 with that video output.
Can we play with ps2 on ps1 games please ?
As we mention in the video, only the adapter that has ps1/PS2 can run ps1 games using the PS2.
Can you stop with Patrick Stewart? Do your viewers really like it? You make good content but "your mom" jokes aren't that funny and neither is using a program to say them in Patrick Stewart's voice
i think its hilarious
Awfully cheap examples. Disappointing.
My Bitfunx ps2 adapter made the picture worse. It’s washed out, very white and more blurry than SCART. I changed the setting from RGB to the other setting on the ps2.
