My two favorites of all time. I was one of the unfortunate ones and was introduced to Greg Valentine at the tail end of his WCW career. Yet even then, when he wasn't being positioned very well on the card, he jumped off the screen at me. I remember so well the first time I saw him walk out in his robe and he went to a 10 minute TV draw with somebody. I immediately turned to my dad and said that's my new favorite wrestler. You can't teach the IT factor. These two are the two greatest workers to ever lace em up
This was truly awesome we got to have Greg back on the show please
I remember hearing this podcast from when it first aired a few years ago (Ric's first podcast with Conrad). Classic interview with two legendary wrestlers, and well worth the re-listen! I love the behind-the-scenes stories...it gives you a better insight into the business, and most of them are hilarious!
Sure it was their 1st podcast? FIair says it's the 1st time we've had a guest on who l wrestled with in the 70s.
Ive been saying it for years. The hammer 🔨. Is. Way underrated. Top notch grappler. 🤼♀️. 💯👋
Greg Valentine looks the same as he did in 1982. I think Greg is really Thor.
This is the best stuff., Them talking about the old timers. Conrad, calling greg Mr. Valentine adds a lot to it, showing that southern difference to his status. I could listen to this 1 million times. I haven't watched wrestling in 20 years. this is better than anything.
PASS THE FUCKIN POTATOES !!!
I loved how the Hammer would take a hit Awesome !
Roy Shire brought Ray Stevens to San Francisco in 1961. Ray made his last appearance for Shire in 1980. Ray also held the Cow Palace attendance record until Elvis broke it in the 1970s.
Love me some Hammer.
Proud to be a North Kackalackee native. Carolina’s gave the world NASCAR, Mid-Atlantic championship wrestling, and Michael Jordan…What else can you say,Woooooo!
These guys were absolute beasts as a tag team. Given how much partying these guys did, it always amazes me how incredibly they performed in the ring.
"thats some serious marijuana"...Flair is a treasure...
They were great as NWA World Tag Team Champions
The Hammer was probably the most underrated wrestler of all time... should've been NWA Champion at some point before he came back to wwf in 85,86? cuz wasn't his legendary dog collar match w/Piper in 84 or 85?
He went to New York early 1984 before that he was in Mid-Atlantic 77-84 with stops in GCW and In Florida’s working for Graham
So glad you guys got the 🦋 robe back congrats
I wish Valentine could have been a Horsemen
Why no video?
Its easier to record audio.
This episode is several years old, and the show was audio-only at the time.
it's a repeat
Yes
Great interview, could have used a few commercials though
What year was this
Who did the figure 4 first, Flair or Valentine?
Buddy Rogers
Buddy of course but if I'm not mistaking Flair really never won with a f4 leg lock unless it was a squash on tv w/ a jobber(sorry George South I love you)...
@@ceeez7828 Flair beat Jimmy Garvin with the F4 in a steel cage title match in Greensboro in 1987, but his hands were on the top rope...and mysteriously the hold was more effective when Flair was not the heel in the match - which was rare...lol
Ronnie Garvin did the best figure 4
They should of tag teamed!
If I remember right they did in the Crocket territory.
@@alansindex9101 They definitely did and from memory held the belts.
They did. Ric never tagged in Greg. What should of happen instead, is valentine leave the wwf and join the 4 horseman oppose to teaming with honky tonk.
@The495Marauder Would of been great if Valentine was a horsemen. They beat Gene and Ole Anderson for the tag titles
They were the best tag team back when I was a kid watching mid atlantic Championship wrestling
Can someone explain 3 weeks running why no show, busy commitments for both, for one? or someone not well? I really hope that's not the reason.
Ric is a raging alchy.
@Paul Earl We don't know that's the reason. BUT at his age and health past,l wouldn't be starting to combine weed with the booze.
@Brandon Thomas Thanks, any ideas about what they involve.
This is a old shoot Paul Jones passes away April
2o18
His name is Wahoo...not Yahoo Conrad duh
Ric Flair has a lot of stories……
So another week and still poor Conrad can't keep his father in law sober enough to record his podcast,
He wasn't drunk, he was just exhausted from being up drinking all night.
Hiccup
another repeat
Bit creepy
This podcast from years ago just gives further proof of what a degenerate, drunk, pervert Ric flair has always been.
Your creepy
