He’s been doing a good job of criticizing modern wrestling in this video. The new guys can’t sell, they suck in the ring, and they are afraid to actually hit each other and make it look like an actual fight.
I watched a little of the Rumble the other night, first PPV in over 15 years for me, and the biggest change I noticed was the CONSTANT camera angle changes. Half the time the guys were mid move and BOOM camera angle change. I started to count and often it was every 1-2 seconds and we have a camera angle change. It was like watching a shitty fight scene in a movie with two actors who can't move so they try to do it with cameras. STOP CHANGING THE camera angles, it was borderline unwatchable for me. No idea why they do this now as it makes watching it almost impossible. I watched a little AEW today and they were no where near as bad so I guess I will check them out. At least I have all the old stuff to watch but it was sad to see the sate of affairs, and ya most guys were "selling" poorly.
Ric is funnier than given credit for. 😂 He was hilarious in this episode.

Flair is still the man. Ric, Harley, & maybe Dory were the few that could handle a true World Champions schedule & demand. Flair did it better than any other!
Pat Patterson was the real brains behind the WWE! When he died it went to shit until Triple H took it over! Vince was never the brains of the WWE!

@@R2B2YT P.S. fun fact: Pat Patterson also came up with the Royal Rumble! All Vince was good at doing was buying up other promotions talent. And he was great at T.V promotion. All the idea's came from Hulk Hogan and Pat Patterson and the people around him. Vince was also great at having wrestlers change their names like changing the Dingo Warrior to the Ultimate Warrior so he could copyright the new names that he gave them so he could own them!
@@collector1970 yes knew Pat created the Royal rumble...hard to argue all that...never thought of it like that tho...certainly makes sense that the product was substantially worse after pats passing...
Now i happen too like Takeshita. He comes from DDT Pro over in Japan. They are what you would call the "WWE" of Japan Puroresu. In terms of all the gimmick matches they have. But Takeshita is a PHENOMENAL athlete in my humble opinion. Harashima is another who works for that company along with Tetsuya Endo, Yuki Ueno who is Takeshita's close friend and training partner. MAO is another one of my favorites of the company. And one guy who gives some REALLY STIFF chops Flair would be impressed with is Kazusada Higuchi a former sumo i believe. He's broken some blood vessels on MANY a chest with his stiff chops. I do agree with Ric though back in the 80's and 90's the chops from the talent back then were FAR FAR stiffer and you often saw broken blood vessels. In my opinion, it was one of the most legit shoot moves you could do too your opponent. You can pull a punch in this business but it's REALLY hard too pull a chop. That's probably the reason why i like Japan Puroresu more then US style. Because they REALLY sell their chops and kicks.

I really wish someone would correct Ric on the Baltimore match story that he's told over and over. Didn't happen like that at all. Ric never bled in that match. It was Luger who was cut by JJ, and a bad blade job at that. People bleed more shaving than Luger did in that match. Yet good grief, Conrad has never corrected him on this version of events. I don't think it's deliberate, I just think Ric has this match confused with another. Perhaps it was the Funk match the next year where he really did bleed a gusher.

I really enjoy Conrad's podcasts, but it's amazing how he talks out of both sides of his mouth depending on if it's the Monday or Wednesday show.
It’s his job to facilitate the host not complicate their message
@@HowToPronouncestuff , he is supposed to facilitate. However, Conrad will call them to task when he disagrees with either Naitch or Eric. Then, at the same time, he'll agree with Naitch about something that completely contradicts what he agreed with on Eric. And vice versa.

What i'm embarrassed about is seeing two grown men chop each other's chest as if that would be irl a legit way you might win a fight. Oh yeah i couldn't get up from the three count because my chest was hurting too much. In an ideal world the chop will eventually be gone from wrestling.

Looks to be that way unfortunately.
Wrestling in the 2020s should have way less blood, and only top guys in top angles get colour. That way it means something.
As for women. I’m all for them to be treated as equals. But if you’re watching a womens match wanting them to bleed. Nah you got proper issues.

Flair is the man. Conrad doesnt understand when he keeps saying the business has "evolved"...No it hasn't. Its devolved into a choreographed stunt show where nothing looks legit. Wrestling is a lost art. Flair knows what hes talking about. The current product is trash. Theres a reason more people will tune in to a documentary about an old wrestler than watch the current show. And women's wrestling is a bathroom break unless they're wearing bra n panties.
