Pete, I can’t stop watching these videos! Very calming, informative and addictive! I live in East Bay, CA we have great weather but there’s no room for a food forest. Please keep making these quality videos! Thanks Pete! 👍
Thank you Pete! This is a new understanding for me, that Sara Wu spoke about, that the plants are comunicating with us when we use or consume them. That is a very powerful understanding I think. God Bless.
Dog on, just when I think this women can't impress me any more, BOOM !!! She knocks it out of the park. Just freakin awesome !!! Great video my friend, thank you so much for sharing. Be blessed & have fun !!!
That’s kamyas in Tagalog. I used to eat that when I was a kid growing up with salt. Very sour, 🥴 but I love it! And the Banana heart is so yummy. We cook it with coconut milk. I think the other citrus is what we call Kalamansi. We use it as a side dip for fried fish. 😋 The pinkish fruit we also eat with salt. South East Asian use ALL parts of the Banana plants. I wish I was there with you guys. What a magical paradise. That’s it! I want to go back to our rice farm in the island 🇵🇭 and start my own fruit forest and leave my 9 to 5 job. 🤗
I just came across her videos . I dont see things like most people and I thought I was alone in the way I think. like plant to me are another life form on this plaint like I am . I live in this universe on this plaint being bombarded by a near by star . plants do have a sense of being alive and may not be the way we feel it would. never the less . I am happy to see her she is a voice for the life we see as plants thank you Pete
WOW! Great video! Sarah is so fluent in her ability to draw from her knowledge that it is very comfortable to watch. I will check out your channel. Thanks for the vid.
I went thrrough the comments and made notes of the recipes and names, all in my note book now :-). So many new plants i like to plant in our food forest now. I wish there were more videos with her, was so great to listen and learning. I love all your videos. Amazing, amazing work, Pete! I wanna make a t'shirt that says "What's growing on?" and pictures of plants.. I wonder if you already sell some 😊.
I ate alot of cacao when I was young. After we get through all the seeds my great grandmother would make them into tablea which is then made into tsokolate/sikwate a hot chocolate drink. Yum!
Here in philippines we call the banana flower the heart of the banana:) we cook it stir fry or boil it then we put coconut milk, a lil vinegar, onion, spring onion, tomato garlic and ginger. It taste really good:)
@t 38:13 Achiote or annatto seeds, in my country (Panama) it’s used mainly for culinary purposes when the pods are dried, it’s used together with natural herbs and seasonings for meats, fish or poultry dishes, it gives a beautiful red color and awesome flavor, The seeds must be processed first to extract the ink. I have 4 trees growing here in central Florida. Xoxo Btw... I kiss, hug and talk to my plants too, I even cry when hurricanes comes through and I see the aftermath of it.. in 2019 I lost over 100 new avocados 🥑, but God bless me with much more from the same trees.
Pete Kanaris GreenDreamsFL , lol no, I only have about 20 trees in my small backyard, I lost about 100 + avocados from my avocado trees after last year 2019 hurricane.😊
We have species relatives of this magic vine in Fla . I love how she acknowledges the friendship that Are between us and the plant world and that is more powerful than you know . Trees and plants are living things with a sense of being and know we're near them and probably want to communicate with us as we do them .
Wow, so amazing. Very informative and Sarah is a legend. I've not seen any of those foods, plants etc. Feel like I'm living under a rock or a bubble actually. The food looks amazing. Thanks for this series Pete.
I feel so energized just watching. Totally mind blown 💥 Always love watching the tastings and how the different fruits each have a special impact on each taster. ❤❤❤
@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL some things in Brazil love it, we grind it with a little oil to make a powder, then it's used to cook chicken and fish usually. It dissolves in oil, some people put the seeds in oil to cook with it too
Look up Cochinita Pibil from the Maya Yucatan penninsula. A real pig delicacy made with a thick sauce of Achiote (as is known here) and sour orange juice.
She's in love with the ayahuasca plant. Pretty obvious she has more than just a superficial botanical knowledge of these plants particularly when she was talking about the universal spirit. What's that flower at the beginning of the video. Thing is mindblowing
I've eaten chempedak before, but it was overripe I think. It looked kinda translucent. Hoping some day I'll have a good one. Love rolinia. It's like a natural dessert.
We, in India, use black pepper for preparing Kashayas (kind of tea) for cold, fever etc. We consider it has cooling effect to our bodies. What are the medicinal uses you guys use it for in that part of the word?
@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL you can grow it in a pot as a bush as well. By growing like this you can keep it inside, warm, during frosty seasons. Just check it if you don't know already.
Best way to cook breadfruit is cook over fire till it gets black, then cook in coconut milk with nutritional yeast and spices. I used noni to get rid of ukus( lice) but not by boiling the leaves. First time I’ve heard that. I got a very ripe noni and put da ripe fruit on my hair left it on for awhile then washed it out. Boy does it stink.
I think that the smaller native cocoa relative is actually T speciosum, not T cacao. I could be wrong, but T spesiosum is the only Theobroma species that is small and looks just like cacao.
Cempedak is the better version of jackfruit. And up there with durian. Remove the cempedak seed and fry in a light crispy type batter, like you would with bananas and thin slices of sweet potatoes.
Piperine is significant. I actually use as a treatment for mild hearing loss. I chew on the full seeds. Haven't attempted to grow it yet. Not only a good brain compound, but apparently good for mitigating the effects of further hearing loss & may even help in a small way towards repair.
