Plot twist: This video is just one entire loop. Notice how it ends with Doug getting a mysterious package, but starts with Rob asking him what's in the box.
Let's list off wrong turns they made with this movie: 1) Doom was an action packed shooter, not a horror game. They tried to make a Horror movie. 2) They were too afraid to embrace the weirder moments in the game's story, even though those weird moments were fairly beloved. (like the actual name for the BFG, and the fact that they were dealing with demons, and how if I remember right Doomguy was motivated by the death of his pet rabbit) 3) They decided to make the Rock the bad guy. 4) They tried to take the game way too seriously. Doom is supposed to be action packed fun. It wasn't ever meant to be dark and unpleasant. Feel free to add any more I missed.
I do have to disagree with number 3, I mean it would have been interesting to see him turn into a monster like a Cyberdemon. Now that would have made the movie a bit better.
I think this film was made around the time of doom3 (which if i remember correctly, was focusing on horror more then action.) So that might explain the horror aspect. (Also, doom was originally supposed to be horror i think.)
Well if it was id’s intention to make doom a horror game from the start, then I say they really suck at making a horror game.(unless you look at it from the demons point of view)
Technically it’s not serial killers but people who are prone to psychopathy and yes even our modern militaries excel at brining in people with homocidal and psychopathic tendencies/sociopathy
You know, the “Color of Money” quote that Rob said at the beginning, “What’s in the box?” “Doom!” Is actually where John Carmack got the inspiration to name the game. Either Rob knows that, or it is just one hell of a coincidence.
Writers: So Space Hell! Studio: No! Writers: But it's the central premise of the games! Studio: It didnt work in Event Horizon, we're not doing it here.

Juber777 As far as I remember, Han didn't borrow money from Jabba. He was supposed to smuggle highly valuable cargo for him. But when he got pinned down by the Empire he threw it overboard to avoid capture (I may have got some details here wrong but it was something like that). And since then, he owed Jabba the value of the cargo.
John O ́neil who ever thought that anyone would ever read those words you just said in that particular order? Those guys really pulled their careers out of the gutter, didn’t they?
This was a hilarious First Viewing, as a DOOM fan i feel you guys, if The Rock would have transformed into the Baron of Hell or the Cyberdemon, that would have been freaking awesome or even Sarge turned Sabaoth from DOOM 3 would have made more sense, after all it's supposedly "based off of DOOM 3" all in all it was a wasted opportunity.
This movie was based more on Doom 3, which was notably slower, darker and more horror-based than the original games. However, it still had significantly more action and intensity than the movie, and is honestly a pretty good game.
9:24 to 9:47 Actually, The Rock also played bad guys in movies: this film, The Mummy Returns, the 2008 Get Smart film adaptation with him, Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, Alan Arkin, Terence Stamp, and James Caan, Pain and Gain (2013), and the upcoming Black Adam movie. Edit: Even The Rock's first film role was a villain in The Mummy Returns.

masamune2984 Yes but realistically scientists would not name a gun The Big Fucking Gun. So in this regard Bio-Force Gun makes way more sense. I think the reason Doom and other video game movies tend to get hated on so much by fans is because they expect it to be 100% like the game which is ridiculous when you really think about it. When you make a movie, or really any sort of form of media, there are some basic expectations people have of what they are going to see. These expectations must be met if you are going to make a good film. For a super hero movie, you need two things: Superhuman abilities, and people with those abilities preforming heroic acts and saving people from danger. For a Doom movie, you need a ton of action, and you need a one man army going into hell and shooting demons before punching the devil to death. And yet, people often think that these requirements are beneath their movie. Like having a super hero refuse to be a hero for most of the movie before killing half a city to save the world so they can ask philosophical questions about whether they should or shouldn't save people. Or having a Doomguy who fights metaphorical demons in a symbolic Hell. Pretending your movie is too important to deliver on the expectations because you think what you are going to deliver is so much better NEVER WORKS. It doesn't matter how philosophical your movie is, if it doesn't deliver on what people expected to see, it's going to tick them off.
