Today we are going to learn how to crochet the Spiked Granny Stitch Slouch Hat.

Skill Level: Easy
Gauge: 8 sts x 6 rows of granny stitch = 4 inches
Finished Size: 10 x 9 inches laid flat
Yarn: Landscapes® by Lion Brand® (100% Acrylic; 5.3 oz, 150 g; Approx. 147 yds, 134 m). Worsted/medium Weight (4). You will need 1.5 balls hat. Colours Shown: Skyline (Grey/Blue) and Mountain Range (Brown/Blue)
Hook: Size J/10 (6 mm) Hook. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

I’ve never used the slip stitch brim....l like How stretchy it is
It is very stretchy and I find it keeps its shape better than a single or half double crochet. The slip stitches can be more tedious though!

Love this! Question: if someone wanted to make a smaller or larger brim, how do you adjust the size by stitch count, to keep the row counts proportional above?
Do you have time increase or decrease in 4’s, since the double crochet row goes every 4 stitches?
