I find all the genetics talk very interesting, it’s some thing that has fascinated me from a very young age :) I’m currently working on an isopod breeding project with A. vulgare color lines! I am breeding magic potion types with more pinkish colors and lighter yellow with others that have no spots and with that getting babies that are all pink with white patches, they are so cool ❤️
As someone who's trying to do the same, but is MIFFED there's no isopod breeders in my country (at least none that breed morphs), I highly salute you! Magic potions are my favorite morphs, and if you're making "love potions" (is there even a name for the morph you got?), you bet I am now eager to see them get more popular!

I wish you luck! They all sound really, really pretty. I’m giving a breeding project with powder blues + Dalmatians a shot to try to get blue Dalmatians with zero understandingly genetics. Probably gonna fail but it might be fun!

This happened to be the same day I first made my way down to your retail store. I spoke with both Vicki and Madison, and they were very kind, friendly, and knowledgeable, so the store was in good hands. Super excited to see the MBK's grow up, they're on my bucket list!!

@@eeveegirl1334 I was an acute dialysis nurse and on call a lot so I would often work a 12+ hour day get 2-4 hours of sleep then get called in and back at it for another 12+ day. Exhausting but so rewarding.

I've been watching you guys for a while and I'm so happy for the both of you with the facility and your chance to be able to educate the newer generations on not only reptiles and snakes, but about the whole ecosystem and how they can do their part. So glad you guys have such great employees. You should make up names for the different rolls in the people who work for you. For example you could call your store staff "herpers". But I think Ed would be hilarious in making up the various names. It could be a badge or a shape of their name tag. But it would give your staff an incentive to spend time educating themselves as well as maybe bonuses for meeting the next level. Just a thought but it could be fun.

Tessera also refers to the change in side pattern in corn snakes, which is not seen in the 'Stripe' morph. One of my corns is a wild-type tessera and it's my absolute favorite pattern morph.

went there and had a blast! Tons and Tons of snakes, Picked up a Bearded Dragon Baby there, and almost got a black night Leopard gecko morph for 600, but sadly used my card for a 20 dollar shirt and bank decided to put a block on my account cause driving 2 hours away from town was strange behavior, but either way came home with new pal and got to geek out about reptiles

The thing with breeding a chimera is that you wont know which of the two sets of genetics will come out as the dominant as it could be totally different than the dominant visual traits. But that BP was beautiful
Exactly! Been combing through the comments to see if anyone had pointed this out. Guy said he tested with both genes, but I'm curious to see which set will be passed on since Chimeras can only pass on a single set. Plus, he said the mother was only Enchi, which makes me curious as to what the father was. Both sets of genes that Chimeras have can only be possibilities of what the parents can produce. So if you have a pair of Albino normal pattern morph hognoses that have been steadily paired their whole life, you won't ever have an Albino normal/Toffeeconda Chimera. Both sets of genes have to be possible. As a side note, I had no idea that Chimerism in snakes was a thing. My experience has been with horses/mammals. It makes sense, since I've seen SD's videos with the twins they had hatch last year, but it hadn't really connected. 🤣
I would literally give anything for that amel palmeto! Its my dream snake. I dont even mind his eyes. Its just added caricature! I already have an enclosure ready for one but unfortunately I lost my teaching job due to covid so I haven't been able to get one. This is also why I had to cancel both my patreon and our planned trip for the zoo opening. Sadness everdeen much!!

I finally found the video lol I watched this video, then later watched the one where Emily and Ed go to Tyler and Maddies house and do a reptile tour. They've got a snake that looks just like the one at 16:19 and ive been looking for ages to see where I remembered seeing it to begin with. No clue if it's the same one, and they didn't mention buying it from them, so im assuming it's just a lookalike, but im just glad I finally found it lol it was driving me bonkers

4.5 hrs of sleep is not nearly enough, so many cute animals!
I've worked an 8hr shift on less and it sucks.

So glad you guys have such great employees. You should make up names for the different rolls in the people who work for you. For example you could call your store staff "herpers". But I think Ed would be hilarious in making up the various names. It could be a badge or a shape of their name tag. But it would give your staff an incentive to spend time educating themselves as well as maybe bonuses for meeting the next level. Just a thought but it could be fun.

Tessera also refers to the change in side pattern in corn snakes, which is not seen in the 'Stripe' morph. One of my corns is a wild-type tessera and it's my absolute favorite pattern morph.

So happy for you! I've been at a smaller show here in Italy in June and I'll be attending Verona Reptiles for my first time as a seller in October! Next year I hope to be there as a crested gecko breeder, mine are still too young but will be ready to breed next winter ☺

went there and had a blast! Tons and Tons of snakes, Picked up a Bearded Dragon Baby there, and almost got a black night Leopard gecko morph for 600, but sadly used my card for a 20 dollar shirt and bank decided to put a block on my account cause driving 2 hours away from town was strange behavior, but either way came home with new pal and got to geek out about reptiles

The thing with breeding a chimera is that you wont know which of the two sets of genetics will come out as the dominant as it could be totally different than the dominant visual traits. But that BP was beautiful
Exactly! Been combing through the comments to see if anyone had pointed this out. Guy said he tested with both genes, but I'm curious to see which set will be passed on since Chimeras can only pass on a single set. Plus, he said the mother was only Enchi, which makes me curious as to what the father was. Both sets of genes that Chimeras have can only be possibilities of what the parents can produce. So if you have a pair of Albino normal pattern morph hognoses that have been steadily paired their whole life, you won't ever have an Albino normal/Toffeeconda Chimera. Both sets of genes have to be possible.
As a side note, I had no idea that Chimerism in snakes was a thing. My experience has been with horses/mammals. It makes sense, since I've seen SD's videos with the twins they had hatch last year, but it hadn't really connected. 🤣
I would literally give anything for that amel palmeto! Its my dream snake. I dont even mind his eyes. Its just added caricature! I already have an enclosure ready for one but unfortunately I lost my teaching job due to covid so I haven't been able to get one. This is also why I had to cancel both my patreon and our planned trip for the zoo opening. Sadness everdeen much!!

I watched this video, then later watched the one where Emily and Ed go to Tyler and Maddies house and do a reptile tour. They've got a snake that looks just like the one at 16:19 and ive been looking for ages to see where I remembered seeing it to begin with.
No clue if it's the same one, and they didn't mention buying it from them, so im assuming it's just a lookalike, but im just glad I finally found it lol it was driving me bonkers
