I have a bit of a "bug" phobia but the way Emily and Ed enthuse over isopods and springtails really helps a person move past and see the cuteness in them. I feel like y'all need to start carrying Isoplushies or something. I legit would collect plushies of the Snake Discovery critter crew.
GUINESS
Timmy the isopod!
@Noodle Jimmy At 23:52 you can see Cheyenne and Rex plushies in the background!
y e s
Isopods are so friend shaped. And it helps when you look at them like ground shrimp
I always love that they try to let the vendors gush over their products/animals. It really gives you the impression that they right there for those of us who can’t go to these amazing shows
I would love to see some axolotls in the zoo! I think it could be cool to have a paludarium with axolotls and some small terrestrial animal as well!
Yes! 😍🤩
Yes
As an Axolotl I 100% agree with you
I would love that!
It would be GREAT for raising awareness and contributing to breeding them so they don't go extinct!
13:17 TONY’S CHOCOLONELY! It’s an amazing brand they’re trying to end child labor in the cocoa industry by paying farmers livable wages for their chocolate and also they work to try and improve the industry as a whole I love them!
Yea they sell them at the NY welcome center
They taste total difrent
Ofc. Of course snake discovery fans would be the kind of ppl to know and support business like that 😂♥️
I tried it once. Great mission obviously, but it didn't taste very good 😂😂
@@_veronica_roh I love Tony's chocolate. Maybe it suits the UK palate better but I honestly thought it was delicious, definitely worth a try if you haven't tried already!
The way the man from Dragonwood whistles when he talks reminds me so much of my late grandad ❤️❤️ haven’t heard that noise in a long time and never realised how much I missed it.
He reminded me of my grandmother too! She really couldnt whistle if she tried but that never stopped her from doing that little choppy whistle when she was concentrating on something.
He also reminded me of the way gopher from winnie the pooh talked haha
I wish I could in an economic situation where I could own reptiles/amphibians. The vicarious enjoyment I get out of watching the care of these animals can't be beat!
They got rex on a live stream on twitch. Alligators don’t do much, but you can maybe check when they feed rex to see that.
I had to wait over a decade before I could have reptiles and amphibians of my own!!! You will get there 💪🏼 and it will be so worth the wait!!!!
Leopard gecko corn snakes and ball pythons are pretty cheap to buy and care for
We want axolotls but we have to let our house get HOT in the summer because we're already paying $400 to cool it down to 80°, which is way above their safe temperature. Even with a tank cooler we can't get it cool enough for them. Frustrating desert weather.
You can keep bugs! They're very cheap to keep and very fun too! I keep/breed silkworms/moths because I adore them, I have a use for their cocoons (home made silk babey), and I plan on keeping some lizards in the future so I'll have feeders ready to go. I'm planning on getting dubias too, just wanna get breeding silkmoths down first.
I spent €30 on getting everything I needed for the silkworms when I started out, including eggs and feed. They're more expensive to keep than other feeders since they require mulberry chow, so something like dubias would be even cheaper!
Wow, the Dragonwood Conservancy guy seemed like the coolest person. I could listen to him talk for hours!
He was on a USARK video that I believe was done by Ed and Emily, he's so knowledgeable and passionate about reptile/animal conservation! I could listen to him all day!
I'm Brazilian, I don't speak English fluently but I just came to the comments looking this comment. He seems so calm and seems to have such a good soul. God bless him.
Most of us live too far away to go to shows like this, so hitching along with Ed & Em is fun and informative. Thanks so very much.
"We got a female gnome!" Spoke like a true breeder lol
I think the last thing they want to do is breed Randy. The good news is that I'm pretty sure that gnome is a male, as it has a beard, which is a fairly good indicator of sex in gnomes. Males have beards, females don't. (Note: This only applies to garden gnomes, NOT fantasy gnomes, they are a whole other species(
@@ps374249 Thank you for informing me. I didn’t know actually since female dwarves do have beards, and I wondered if garden gnomes were the same
@@ps374249 I mean I know you weren’t talking to me but I still learned lol
Laura is so nice! One time my isopods sadly passed away, the entire colony. She was so nice she sent me another group for free!!! I 100% recommend her company.
I love ur pfp
Bug talking about the fly larva was really interesting! I had no idea about how much food waste those larva could offset.
They are great for your compost bin
I didn't know about Soldier Fly Larvae but I'm really interested now! I'm gunna look into them when my local reptile expo starts again.
Those tegus are gorgeous. Wow. As are the Caimans, love Cuban crocodiles, love how they run. I remember when my sister took me to the Seattle zoo and I got to see one run, way way back in 95. The elephants were astonishing to me, I knew that they were big, but when the matriarch came up and looked at me I cried because she was so amazing. I'll never forget that.
I was 5 at the time*
That sounds like such a wonderful time! I myself have not been to a zoo yet even though I love animals! Definitely on the bucket list!
Luke's donation is so thoughtful, and the gift too. How exciting!
If you happen to read this, Smug Bug lady, I wanted to tell you that your stickers are SO cute they are inspiring me to draw. It's always awesome when I get this feeling so thank you ♡.
Her name is Laura I believe :)
I'm so glad to see Luke still enthusiastic and successful with his bug business! Him and his family seem awesome!
We should get Emily and Ed a special hat or t-shirt that says 'shopping mode engaged' so that fans know when they see the hat or shirt that you are on a mission so only waves and quick hellos are permitted 🤣
I think Ed's pokemon trainer mode was activated with the isopods and now he's compulsively driven to catch them all
I would love to see an isopod video with Smug Bug! I used to think they were creepy until I started watching content of them and now I think they’re super cute, especially some of the varieties like duckies and dairy cows. Now I’m considering setting up my ball python in a bioactive just because I’d love to have some isopods!
I hope we get to see more content of that little rhino ratsnake! That is such a cool species, I’d love to see what you set him up in and what you name him. Great video!
I could listen to the dragonwood conservancy guy forever! His voice is so calming and I bet he'd be great to learn from.
Repashy's Bluey Buffet, which is, as the name suggests, a powdered, gel diet for blue tongue skinks, is black soldier fly larva-based. My Northern BTS Derby loves it!
Smug Bug rocks, I would love a tour of her facility! Half my isopods are from her shop, and her customer service is amazing :)
It’s always fun to watch Emily and Ed go to shows and pick up new animals! Btw, you should name the rhino rat snake “crash” because that is what a group of rhinos are called.
Do you think you could put the links to the vendors in the description? Sometimes I have a really hard time finding them when their names are shared with other companies or common stuff
I'm so excited to see the little friends you bring home
i looooove lukes enclosures for his mantis's. they are big and bright, you can tell he cares for each one properly.
Im getting a beardie!! Just set up the enclosure!
Edit 1: i ordered the beardie!
Edit 2: ITS HERE!!!!
Edit 3: she just started eating! I named her beardina lol
Edit 4: she is letting me hold her!
Edit 5: (this is my last edit until emily's next vid!) She is such a sweetheart! I love her! She is a snow!.
Aw that sounds great have fun both of you!!
@azuncena tysm :)
Lol this took 3 days to write ahah
Thank you so much for featuring us we really appreciate it!!! We had A-blast at the NARBC show can't wait for the next one!!!
I went to Salem, Massachusetts last month and I wore my pride flags Snake Discovery shirt. Someone on the street recognized it and stopped me to tell me she was also from MN. I was like me too! But I'm glad to have met someone who also watches this channel :)
I love the guy with the soldier beetle larva. A great salesman! Private enterprise in saving endangered species is great. It's what saved the salt water crocodile in Australia. (we farm them for meat and leather).
All of my isopods are from smug bug! I love her business! Also looks like you guys had an amazing weekend!!
Eeee I'm excited for this!! I can't wait to see what new friends you guys come home with!!
When you said, “Orange springtails” I thought you said “four inch springtails”. Lmao! I sure was excited to see those!!! 🤣😂
“Emily talking about time and buying stuff as a snek is climbing on her glasses.”
😂
When I was younger I thought snakes were scary untill I saw your channel and now I love snakes
I never thought snakes were scary but I used to be terrified of any type of spider I didn't recognize. Then RUclips came around, and now spiders are one of my favorite animals!
Smug Bug is awesome. I volunteered with USARK to gather donations for the auctions from vendors, and they were SUPER generous with their USARK auction donations too. It was pretty much a whole set up if someone wanted to start their own isopod business or just had tons of large colonies, they'd not go without.
I love the broad-snouted caiman’s little chirps. So cute.
DIRT SHRIMP! I love it! It's right up there with penguins being 'Formal chickens'. XD
Ooo Tony's chocolate is GREAT!! Excellent AND Fair Trade!
You guys are amazing thank you so much for posting and teaching us about reptiles! You guys were one of my go to channels to learn about reptiles. Thanks to ya'll I've gotten my first reptile, keep up the good work!
I just love your community you have. You all take care of each other. It’s so sweet to see. Everyone obviously wants everyone to succeed. I’m loving it. ❤️❤️
I truly appreciate how you help promote your fellow reptile and reptile product companies ♥️ You guys are so amazing
Thanks to you guys I was able to get my own snake and take care of her!! I have started posting videos of her and would love to earn more money to get more reptiles! Thank you
so fun that you have this expirience because on the 14th of august im getting a snake to because of these wonderful people !!!
@@smsh-editsz that’s awesome to hear! What type of snake?
@@AutoBot_Jazzzzzz a milksnake don`'t yet know the gender but i think a female!
@@smsh-editsz that’s awesome!!! Hope you love it. Snakes and reptiles have always been my thing. If you make videos I’ll like and subscribe 100%
The reptile show was so much fun! It was lovely to meet you both :). Hope you liked the beaded snake I gave you!
-Anima Animations/Abby
Your enthusiasm and energy just makes me smile. I love to see people happy and loving what they do! I'm so glad for you guys to have your shop and living your dreams!
Rhino ratsnakes are awesome, they are really curious about the stuff that's going on around them. Very watchful and alert (but in a chill-way, not the white lipped python way ;D). And they are gorgeous!
I could watch full videos of any of those vendor interviews! There's so many cool things happening in the reptile world!
Hyped for the potential tour of smugbug facility!
Cool to see Dav and Emily both gravitate to sacred geckos. Definitely a great upcoming breeder to watch.
New idea: Emily and Ed have to save the wrappers from all of the gifted snacks that they consume, and then dump it all out in a pile at the end of the video!!! Glad you guys had a successful expo!
that rhino ratsnake is SO COOL,
Bro I just got a ball python at a expo they the vid comes out🤣
What morph
@@Grape08 pastel lesser her clown
Super cool 😎 video
The little baby chirps from the caiman and cuban crocodile were soooooo cute 😍 🥰🥰🥹🥹
Love your channel. Happy belated birthday Emily. What a great addition. I LOVE rhino rat snakes. Mine is awesome. He’s super docile and by far the easiest keeper I own…never misses a meal, can be kept at ambient temps., not flighty, active in enclosure, and you can’t tell me they aren’t beautiful with that bright green they develop. Im always happy when someone posts something about them bc there isn’t much out there. Anyways…. A big thank you to you and Ed. You guys do so much for the reptile community. Y’all are a definite asset. Much appreciated:)))
The guy with the caimans has a very relaxing voice! Had to pause the video to share, ASMR vibes 😂
Looks like you both had an amazing time!
Yay! New video, I've been watching your old vids because I've been so excited to see what you got :)
I hope you had a wonderful day, take care x
The false water cobra(?) being Emily's fashionable backpack was the best.
As a person in this world I just want to thank both of you Ed and Emily for being yourselves and such great role models. There’s so much bad media going around these days and it’s so nice that you’re here doing your thing and doing it so well. Thank you for showing kids on youtube what responsible animal-keeping looks like, as well as what healthy relationships all across the boards look like. I love the way you both talk to your fans, how you interview people and how you show your relationship and the relationship to your friends. When I get kids I’d be more than happy to show them your youtube channel ❤️
I’m basically waiting for the moment that each of my friends’ kids expresses an interest in reptiles or snakes, so I can say, “I HAVE A RUclips CHANNEL YOU MUST CHECK OUT RIGHT NOW!!” 😁
Oh man the dragon wood conservative is awesome doing such awesome work helping endangered animals
It was so much fun meeting you guys at the show! It was my first time at a reptile show, and I loved it so much. I’m glad the gnome made it to to the shop. Hopefully I can make the drive up to the facility soon!☺️
“Dirt Shrimp”. That is my new way to describe myself
Omg those spikey isopods are so cool! What a sweetheart.
I love watching you guys
I love learning about different things, like I’m into bugs but learning where the feed comes from and stuff is so cool!
I love that more people are getting excited about Black Soldier Fly Larvae. It's such an amazing industry. Glad to see it featured :)
15:30 Emily: “really pretty balls” HAHAHA love you guys!
Tomorrow I’m going to the zoo! I’m so excited to come and I’m on the way right now. We left early today and I can’t wait to get there and see all the amazing reptiles you’ve collected and all the cool gift shop items!
Can't wait for smug bug colab!!!
Hello Emily and Ed, I’m written in name of my little reptile lover Ana Sofia, who is 6 years old. She’s a huge fan and now a huge reptile lover because of your channel. She would be incredibly happy if you could send a hello to her. She also would like to say hello to Butterscotch. 😊 Hugs from Luxembourg. ❤️ 🐍
I was checking all day for this video I love you guys so much 🦜🐊🐍❤️
Love how Emily and Ed work so hard to entertain us and do photos while they look after all of theirs animals and running the zoos it's incredible 💙
Love the expo videos! Look forward to all your uploads. Keep up the great work!
Wow~ The show is awesome~💞
Thank you for sharing this video~🤗
12:36 cool scarf you got there, really like it
I've always had a phobia of creepy crawlies and stuff. Even butterflies and ladybugs send me into a panic if they "chase" me. But ever since I've started watching your videos, I've somewhat improved. I've kept an isopod I found outside in a tub and cared for it, I've intentionally touched an earthworm, and I've had jumping spiders on my hands. I'm older than you guys and you've given me a push to confront my lifelong phobia! Keep up the good work!
Glad to hear you guys had fun. My purchases from the cricket guy came. They’re very good.
Love everything you have!!
We love smugbug!!! Thanks to you and that video of unboxing all your isopods we have purchased several isopods from them🥰
Love your vids! You inspired me to get a bearded dragon and a skink! Hope to get a corn snake soon!
Aaayyyoooo I have a bearded dragon too
I started with a corn snake. Now I have a bearded dragon as well. I was 59 when I got my first reptile. Thanks to videos from Ed and Emily.
You guys never cease to amaze me. I love your personalities so much. You two are just so goofy and I love it. ❤️
I have watched the video 3 times now. The 1st time I watched it with my best friend and her daughter, and when it got to the black light part, the 7 year old said "OK now I want a black light and an Axolotl!!" I paused the video, and I said "funny you should mention that because Emily has been talking about doing a night hike, where you would get to do something like that." She had no words, but the cutest smile on her face. I love watching you guys so much that it is so humbling for me that she loves you guys as much as I do. My best friend loves you guys too.
I claim full responsibility for that LOL 😆
P.S. Took me WAY TOO LONG to figure out what BSFL meant LOL I need to go to bed, it's 4 AM!!
Yay I have been waiting for this video since the last upload Carnt wait to now watch it !!
Smug Bug interview & tour, yes, please! I loved all of these interviewees.
Love the eco fly lavae! In Australia the Carlton Brewery sends its used yeast and hopps etc to make into Vegemite!
I'm convinced that big youtubers don't even pay for anything, they just get gifted everything.
The guy from Dragonwood is so sweet 💜 please consider working with them in the future xxx
OMG HII!! I’m early for the first time!! i wanted to say i love your videos and all your reptiles!! me and my baby ball python herman love watching your videos together :)) keep doing what you’re doing ilysm
One of the fish flake foods I use is made with black soldier fly larva, my white cloud minnows love it
SO so so excited for the smug bug video and more isopod content!!
Smugbug has some really cute stickers. I have no use for isopods but those stickers are tempting 😍
Dude those are such cute animals!
Those Tegus are crazy!
And I absolutely need a Smug Bug tour.
I have been wanting a snake for the past 3 or so years but haven't been able to get one due to not having space. Snake Discovery videos have kept me sane up until this point and I will be able to get a hognose within the next few months.
i love your guys videos! i love reptiles 🐍🐍
P pp
Just love you guys your so fun to watch and I love all your reptiles ❣️
The beginning is hilarious 😂
They need to do reptile shows here in Alaska! This looks so cool! I wanna go sooo bad! 😖
Your channel has helped me become more comfortable with snakes. I don’t scream anymore when I see them and I can kinda handle them. Anyways thank you!
With the crocodilians I didn't know that the dominant hand had a particular effect on them but feel more relaxed in the non-dominant. That would have to suck for those who are ambidextrous I think.
Awesome venders! Ya'll making me love Isopods even more,
